I dont remember which costume was the main one and which one was the alternate in MKDA, but the purple one we have been talking about is horrible. I have said this before it would have been awesome if it was blue though, the purple just doesnt look right. Kitana's other costume from MKDA, the update to the UMK3 costume looks really good though.

It's just a colour. I don't like characters being colour-coded, and MK has ALOT of that which I think is a shame. I guess that's how people recognize one palette swap from the other. They turned Scorpion from yellow to gold, and I haven't heard people complain about that yet.
In MK Gold you could choose Kitana to be red (P2) instead of blue(P1), and I think that was kinda cool. Kinda a hint to Skarlett, perhaps. ;P
Though her fans kept their blue colour which was a bit weird...
Anyways, I do think that this costume is Kitana's best looking outfit.
Oh, and by the way, it was changed to blue in MK Armageddon:

No Kitana's costume was still purple in Armageddon, look at it. But doesnt it look much better blue, like in that concept art? Also I think the color coded is cool. For Kitana's alternate I hope they do something similar to the costume from that concept art, but with more accessories or something. Some chains like Jade has or maybe like a long sash belt or something.

No matter how I try to trick my mind I can't get myself to find that render anything better than repulsive. The model in the game looked okay, but I just hate the way it's posed. As long as the render looks nothing like that I'm okay.

Damn, could have sworn it was blue. I'm slightly colourblind, you see. Sorry about that.
But no, I don't see the problem with her outfit being purple over blue. And before you say anything, it has nothing to do with me being colourblind. ;)
I do agree that it would look good if altered somewhat and with added accessories for a cool alternate outfit in the new MK.
