Certain (shitty) people are reacting to Kratos in the same way they reacted to Vs. DCU.

Hmm, though I don't like the idea of a guest character, I'm glad they've actually thought it through and did some effort in making him instead of just doing a half-assed job about it. It means that they are serious about it at least. I'd be even more furious if they didn't do a good job about it and put in an unfinished guest character... That would be really screwing over the MK characters that didn't make it to the main roster!

That said, I'm happy for Ed Boon about this. He got to put one of his favourite characters into his own game! I mean, if I had that opportunity, then I would go for it as well. For Boon, this is a dream coming true, and for that, I am happy for him. ^^

I guess that's why Xbox doesn't have an exclusive character... Ed Boon doesn't have a favourite character that is Xbox exclusive. It would make sense... Anyways, I don't want to turn this thread into another console war which most Kratos/exclusive content threads turn into.

If I was one who was making a fighting game that had success, and then Rare/Microsoft tells me that they'd like to have a Killer Instinct character to star in it, and that it would be Orchid... I would be super-thrilled! Even if it meant that she would be an Xbox exclusive character, then I'd make it happen!

I totally understands why Boon gave Kratos a spot as a guest character in MK. I might not agree with guest characters, but I understand why he's making it happen. And from the footage we've seen, Kratos actually looks cool in the game and his stage is beautiful. It's like taken straight out of God of War 3.

I've become more open about having Kratos in the game now. ^^

But srsly Kratos looks better then Raiden at this point, wanna know why? because Kratos doesn't say stupid shit like "thunder take you".. and his win pose gave me chills. Is it because NRS is focusing more on him and less on other characters ? Maybe, and that pisses me off, but heck, you cant please everybody .. where characters like Raiden fail Kratos succeeds for me.

Can't believe none of you guys mentioned Zeus.. he's fighting Kratos in Kratos stage... which mean the PS3 could possible have 2 exclusive character's.. Zues might be an hidden unlockable.. he's got a character model.

The Kratos gameplay looks amazing.. he will be teamed up with Quan Chi in Tag mode...

i find it funny how the kratos haters were all like " kratos doesnt fit in the MK universe" yet you hear it from boon and asmussen ( he looked just like a mortal kombat character) and god of war 3's finisher kills were heavily influenced by mortal kombat, sooooooo haha >:D also i bet the stage fatality is when you slam them into the wall and beat them till the walls come crashing down on top of the opponent like what kratos did to zues >:3

Hey hey, just returning and I saw this earlier.
Since mine was THE only unapproving message of Kratos, I changed it to something more appropriate.
Unless it's blantant painfully obvious parody sarcasm, I'm completely respectful and always have been.
Especially respectful with every "complaint" I don't agree with, I either don't mention it or try to make a point of how I think it works for the better.
Also, I guess if it's nameless, attempted insults are allowed?
But believe me, I was even more against MKvsDC, the entire concept still puts a bad taste in my mouth. As much as I like DC, I don't even like viewing what the regular fans have to say, much less a fanbase like MK that has some thinking they're hardcore because of at that time popcorn looking blood at best. MK feels like one of the "home" series with me, but no fans have the right to scoff.
On the contrary I like discussing MK with users because every character is nearly two dimensional with a lot of room to grow, thus ideas won't shake the foundation. Even now, bizarre backstories are being made that don't interfere.
My point with out mentioning Kratos, call me crazy, but I want to see the MK "universe" as pure as can be with no outsiders whatsoever, irrelevant of how well they fit. And what is the point of even being here if you don't say what is truly on the mind.

Despite my thoughts on Kratos, it's awesome to see Stig and Ed seem genuinely happy about their collaboration and the end product and that's very important too, if he's a huge fan of Kratos it was probably a huge blast to work him into the game I'm sure. I just think it's cool that they seem so pumped about all the hardwork they put into the character. I don't have a problem with Kratos per se, his gameplay looks interesting and I'll probably try him out, just not a fan of guest characters, either way good video and it's good to see the game creators happy and excited about their work, it's awesome to see someone take pride in what they do.

I still enjoy that Olympus temple, cannot wait to see this stage fatality.

Now moving on to Kratos my only concern is for him to be balanced so he doesn't end up being the equivalent of SC4's Starkiller. I don't want him in my game but I will begrudgingly take him. Sure I could buy the 360 version but I have this long tradition of buying MK games for the playstation(2,3) Kratos will not stop that.

Do I want him? No. But it's not about what I want...It's about what's fair!
