But please... don't freak because, we don't know if Skarlet will inpact Jade's appearance. Ed Boon knows very well... that Jade has a very good fan base... back in the trilogy days. I was a big Jade fan when it came down to the female characters. Not even Tanya can top her... Remember that favorite female vido games character contest that went on back in 2004. It was Jade that was competeing! Not Kitiana, Not Sindel, Not Mileena! But Jade! So please... don't freak and lets stay positive.

Come on guys, do you really think this is "Skarlett"? I mean, they have been so insistent on how discreet they are going to be about secrets in the game. Clearly, if they were going to add Skarlett, she would be a deeply hidden character, and they wouldn't make reference to her when they have so many other characters they could reveal.

As said before, Sareena had no corporeal form during these events. And Sareena would all but guarantee Quan Chi's inclusion, which would force them to drop even more of the old roster.

Just to play devil's advocate, they could say Sareena escapes the Netherealm when Shao Kahn makes his attempt to steal the souls there, like Scorpion circa MK3. She could then regain her human form without Quan Chi, just like she did in MK:DA.

How Raiden's meddling would enable Sareena's escape here, as opposed to the actual MK3.....well, I'm betting there will be far worse plot holes than that.

Or, since the elder Sub-Zero is apparently not going to die, Quan Chi and/or Shinnok could release her to lure him into a trap.....but my head already hurts thinking about that road.

It would be quite a pleasant surprise if Sareena was in this one, and if she is, hopefully the story mode will give her all of the attention she's been deserving since her re-introduction into the series during Tournament Edition.

However, like others have said, red doesn't necessarily exclude Sindel or Jade, but I'm just excited we're generating this much buzz over a leg. =)

We don't know for sure if it's Sareena, but I've stated before she's a great "bridge" character between the past and the present.

She's someone that's been Quan Chi's slave, and his enemy. She's been the ally (and love interest?) of the elder Sub-Zero, and then she became the ally (and love interest?) of the new Sub-Zero. She's crossed paths with demon-hunter (and former Quan Chi servant) Ashrah before. Shinnok "killed" her and she became a fugitive from the Brotherhood of Shadow (that elder Sub-Zero later became a part of). She exists as a tie between the past and present and I love her for it, as well as the dissonance of her being a noble heroine with the dark urges of a demon; inner conflict is always a wonderful thing.

Frankly, I'd prefer Sareena, or any other MK character, over Skarlet. Mainly because so many characters, like Sareena, have thrived with potential that just didn't get tapped either due to poor timing, odd design choices, or simple dumb luck. (see also: Sheeva, Stryker, Fujin, and Kai).

Little odd this caused us not to get the Fatality Friday results though, I'm not sure what happened there or if this is actually related. I sort of prefer a leg to knowing the favorite fatality of UMK3 on Twitter though.
