Firstly - I dont like how all of the "ninja" characters have pretty much exactly the same outfit for primary and alt. Would have been nice for them to vary up the costumes and colours a little bit.

Even then this list is hard to do. Because I mean you have ones that are just awesome updates of what they had before (Kung Lao), you have the ones that dont look as good as they did in the DA/D/A era (Raiden) and you have the ones that only really need a little improvement (Sonya)

Least Favourite -
1) Kitana (Both) They are nearly there. after god knows how long they are nearly there. But this still looks bland.
2) Shao Kahn - (Reboot era) You know how he looks at the start of the game? Why doesn't he look like it? I can kinda see the point but it lacks something.
3) Smoke - (Primary) Its not the hair. Its just an ugly mismatch of the old MK ninja costumes.
4) Reptile - (Primary) Its not the mask but it just looks odd.
5) Sheeva - (Both) My beloved. After Armageddon I thought they would put the same amount of love and care in the outfits this time. I was wrong. Some black highlights and Mini Tit Covers. The hell?

Favourite
1) Scorpion - (Alt) Love it. Its a suit of armour.
2) Human Cyrax and Sektor - Both look awesome.
3) Shang Tsung - (Old man) Just looks great.
4) Sindel - (Both) First is a great update of the MK3 gear and the alt is great as a sort of Shao Sindel thing.
5) Liu Kang/Kung Lao/Johnny Cage.

Jade's primary(As close to beautiful as MK girls get... Shame about her mouth though, pretty eyes)

Mileena's alt(Not as good as Deception's primary, but it resembles the best costume she's had so far)

Mileena's primary(I hated this at first, too much flesh for my tastes and the hair is similar to that of a teenage girl in high school... But it's grown on me)

Sheeva's alt(She actually looks kinda pretty, I like her more feminine appearance overall in this game)

Scorpion's primary(First time I've ever liked his look. He just looks so sleek compared to the other "ninjas")


Least favorites:
Kitana, for the love of god, Kitana.... Her tiara and hair are silly looking, and the alt is without a doubt the worst costume in this game. The collar looks clownish and the big bag sleeves that somehow work with Mileena's make Kitana look dreadful.

Smoke's primary( I don't mind the hair, I prefer it to the hood of the others, but it really doesn't match the rest of his design at all.)

Sheeva's primary.... *sighs*

Sindel's primary(Such a wasted opportunity on her gigantic hair. Could have made her appearance truly menacing if it was large and tendril-ish)

Mileena's flesh pits(Stop removing her clothes little by little. In the next game the only thing she'll wear is pasties and pubes... Though, by the look of her costumes this time around, she's clean shaven... Because batshit insane she-children assassins always make sure to groom. Wouldn't want Baraka to have to pick his teeth. I'm stopping now, I swear.)

Jade's primary: She's perfect. Just what I would expect a hot ninja babe to be.

Shang's alternate: Old man Shang looks great, like always

both of Mileena's regular costumes: She's even more perfect than Jade. Her costumes fit her personality flawlessly.

Stryker: Much better than the fat ugly guy from MK3.

Raiden's primary: Just like I remember him in MK2. I just wish his projectile wasn't a fuzzy comet, and looked like actual electricity. I know they can do it because he has it in his win pose.

Least Favorites:

SMOKE'S PRIMARY: I tried to get used to the hair, I really did. But it's not gonna happen. Even though they wanted him to stand out, he does, in a bad way. All the ninjas look cool, he looks retarded. That's standing out all right. His alt isn't bad though, thankfully.

Kitana in both costumes: P1 has the wonky hair physics and strangely shaped skull, P2 is Michael Jackson with a ponytail. Seriously, WTF NRS?

Jade's alternate: What, did they find an ugly woman an put her in a green outfit and call her Jade? Cuz whoever she is, she sure ain't the same person as is wearing a mask as P1.

Sonya's primary: Uncanny, just uncanny. And the open vest just screams "We're trying too hard."

Sheeva: A real 3d model has helped her look better than MK3 at least, still, she looks like crap.

LIU KANG: While I'm thankful that we have an asian who actually looks asian, Kang looks nothing like he did in MK1 or 2. He doesn't really look like MK3 liu kang either, though the two are about equally ugly. Also, one guy in a review said the males all look like two rolled up carpets leaning against a petrol pump, and that is most certainly true. WTF is it about human anatomy that NRS doesn't understand? His and Cage's shoulders are WAYYYY too wide for their bodies. They look really weird and awkward.

I keep seeing a general agreement with people between the votes for "worst" and "best" costumes in all these threads about designs/costumes. Almost everyone votes on the same.

My list has been updated:

Worst Designs:

* Kitana's: Both costumes. Clearly not her best appearance.

* Skarlet: Horrible and weak. Extremely disappointing look for a new character who was given so much hype and will be DLC.

* Noob Saibot's alt: Just because it's a copy/paste in black of Sub-Zero's.

* Sektor's Alt: He looks way too much like Shang Tsung.

* Quan Chi: There's just something very off and unfitting. He used to look superb and glorious back in MK4 and even MKM. What happened?

* Shang Tsung Primary: Very disappointing.

Best Designs:

I've got too many favorites just to pick one, but, like the majority, I agree that these are among the best:

* Ermac's Fantastic Alternate
* Noob's Primary

I've got too many faves, but, these stand out the most from the top of my head.

Good but needed more improvement:

* Sheeva's: They are not horrible, but, they really do lack life and magic. Her secondary would be more appreciated if it didn't feel like a poor update of the primary or like a poor choice when compared to her MKA design.

* Sindel's alt: I've actually come to the conclusion that I'm not a big fan of Sindel's alternate costume. I don't ever choose it on the game and I feel that is because it feels like its lacking something. Also, the pony tail was a bad choice of a hair style for her.

* Jade's alt: Something is missing, but, that hair style was a bad choice for her. Feels unfitting and her facial features look nothing like the gorgeous Jade from MKD.

* Sonya's Primary: A freaking shirt under that vest would have made this costume one be on my "Best Costumes" list. She just needed a shirt. Like it is now, it feels unfitting and incomplete.

* Skarlet: Horrible and weak design.

* Kung Lao's Primary: Copy/paste of Shaolin Monks? Not fun.

* Reptile's: Both costumes were just unimpressive and underwhelming.

* Scorpion's alt: Weird and kind of ugly looking.

* Sub-Zero's Primary: So, here's the thing, he doesn't look bad at all. He just looks like something I've seen in the last 3 games already. Uninspired and kind of boring.

* Liu Kang's overall body design: Costumes are OK, but, his overall design is too big and strange.

* Johnny's alt: Its cool and all, but, could have been so much better after seeing those epic concept arts of him.

If they could just fix the physics on Smoke's hair, it wouldn't be bad. I'm getting more used to it by the day, and overall I think Smoke looks great. I just don't like how it looks like Smoke is constantly standing in front of an electric fan.
