When it goes "FINISH HIM", she didn't scoot and jerk back and forth like characters normally used to do when you input the finisher commands, all she did was this animation of standing still and tapping her chin like she's thinking.

If that means characters don't move unless you want them do when you're trying to do a finisher, or distance doesn't matter for finishers anymore, or there's a Fatality "stance" like in the last gen games, that's fucking awesome.


I hated distance.

You do realize that you could hold block the entire time while inputting commands and your character doesn't move, right?

That always feels stupid and awkward holding down an extra button, and there are invariably other circumstances, like if you're trying to fight a hidden character or something, where you're not allowed to use block.

Sweep distance,close....that terms are from the mk/MK2 days and people still dont know what it means? geez....and those fatalities in the video....i see too much recycling there,Mileena's fatality is a mix of both from MKD,lame,Kung Lao's fatality,the other video,when he slices reptile there are no organs and the body is really stiff when falling,recycled from MKSM with just the flying hat decap animation,i really hope this is entirely WIP,but i doubt this will get better than this.Yes,some look good,but i dont see nothing new or amazing.

My initial reaction was that the thinking was just part of her Fatality. Kind of like "Hmm... what am I going to do with this pathetic being?... I know" BAM! Along with the seductive face-on-face, It adds a depth of realism and makes each character feel less stiff and robotic and more of their own personality. At least for me anyways...

Of course it's work in progress. The game doesn't come out until spring.

Wow I loved the fatalitys dude! it makes me bout the other characters as well considering we dont kno who else will be in the game and I want to see scorpions new toasty fatality this time and besides the fatalities I loved the details of blood opn the characters and how they were looking during the fight, but what still gets me is how when Kung Lao did that X-ray attack on Mileena hows she gonna keep fighting with broken bones in her neck lol its jst brutal but I love it glasses

Wow. After being sorely disappointed in most of the fatalities from mkda onward these look pretty incredible so far.

I'm very impressed so far. Obviously I need to see more but...yeah. Impressive.

I really hope they just don't overdue the amount of blood like they did with mkda and mkd.

Six years without a decent Mortal Kombat game suddenly feels paid back for.

Nothing shown or said about the next game has been disappointing so far. I really really hope they don't throw in something whack to ruin the game.

OH and can you guys imagine if the game was actually..... BALANCED?
(or at least close)
No infinites, no pseudo-infinites, just... competitive, yet appealing to a casual audience?

Wow, that was madly detailed and it actually got a feeling out of me in the bottom of my stomach. Can't wait for this game to come out and try out all the Fatalities.

Yeah because it was totally satisfying to watch the same thing over and over with no effort whatsoever. Like, fuck it, we might as well just drop the individual commands altogether and have one button fatalities, right? In my opinion, with any luck the fatalities will be difficult to do so that it feels like I've achieved something when I pull one off ala MK3.


That aside, I really like these fatalities. Yay.

I always notice you disagree with the popular opinion on anything. Not saying it's bad, just something I noticed.

Distance was annoying in MK3, it's not a problem now

Ed Boon: The cool thing we've introduced in this game is motion control! Who needs a controller when you have Kinect and Sony's Sex Toy? We also make it so throws are punishable so no more cheap throws! And we're bringing Hsu Hao back!

WOW!!!

Awesome fatality montage. Mileena and Sektor's being the highlights.

Sektor's fatality is just brilliant easily one of the best I've seen. It's not really brutal but so damn cool.

Mileena's was downright disturbing. Showed of her feralness.

Dissapointed we didn't see more of Nightwolf's fatalities. I was excited to see his energy tomahawk is back. It better be in his victory pose. The fatality we saw a little of looked very similiar to his axe, meet head fatality from MKD.

Noticed one thing, Kung Lao's fatality, in the E3 PS clip they show the fatality from another camera angle. Probaly this has something to do with the 3D thing they mentioned. But honestly, even without the 3D effect, the fatality from that angle is looking much cooler.

That was soooo awesome! I've been coming to MKO since like 2004. I just haven't decided to post much with my disappointment over the new MK games in the past decade. So by posting, this is a HUGE deal :)

So, I'm digging the details in this new game.
But do you guys think the graphics will improve for the characters? They're sort of looking anime-ish to me, not quite real yet.. a bit cartoony if you know what I mean. Do you think they'll improve on the looks or keep the way it is for Spring release?
