Yeah, I like to beat up women too... In fighting games, of course... *cough*

I'd rather beat up guys but usually there are female characters that really irritate me so I always end up enjoying killing one or two of them more than usual.

Anything violent will attract more males than females so it's not unrealistic that the ratio be uneven in battles-to-the-death. lol

Now if it was an all Shokan roster things might be different. Then again...the size difference for them between genders is even more extreme for them. Oddly enough.

The male-female ratio Mortal Kombat has now gives the series a more brutal status. For instance, do you really think that Conan the Barbarian would be the same if Conan was a woman? Or Rocky IV with a female Balboa? I didn't think so. The ratio should remain the same, we are talking about Mortal Kombat.

MKII - 2 female
MK3- 3 female

They should have 9 in MK9.

Well the ratio of good males to good females is like 2:1 so there's that.

There were 5 fives females in MKDA, and 6 in MKD.

I'd replace tanya with sareena, makes more sense to me.

Besides the confirmed female characters, I would like to see Sheeva and Sareena as well. Tanya seems to be DLC and we have yet to see if there's anything to that red-clad woman in Kahn's Arena. If she is indeed Skarlett or some other hidden character, then I will see her as a welcomed addition to the femme fighters!

As for the rest of the female characters post-MK4, I would rather see them appear in the next game with updated looks, storylines and special moves.

It's no secret that women kicking ass is far more impressive than the lame boys. Regarding the few numbers, MK has always had the boys outnumber the ladies. However, it was always the ladies that were found to be the most memorable/stand out admits the roster.

I don't get why people are bitching about the costumes of the ladies being uninspired when the males are EXTREMELY bland. There's nothing interesting about their costumes. They're simple and lame. The ladies at least look bad-ass and not cliche. Clearly, you guys have no fashion sense.

Actually, no, it's not really cliché... There are very few fighting games where the women are actually dressed like that. Not even the Dead or Alive girls have such skimpy outfits as their MAIN outfits... Sure, you can unlock bikinis for them, but that's just fanservice...

It's not fighting games, just media in general. Good looking women in tight, revealing clothes fighting against gruesome monsters or killers. Happens a lot.

MK has alot of clichés...

Liu Kang - Bruce Lee cliché...

Shao Kahn - Archvillain who wants to take over the world cliché...

MK Storyline - Good versus Evil cliché...

Those are just a few, but I think you get my point. ^^
However, though there are these "clichés", we are still here, loving Mortal Kombat and looking forward to the game. I mean, why else would we be here? To just bitch and whine about Mortal Kombat? I don't know about you guys, but that's not why I am here... Seriously... it isn't!

MK is made of tons and tons of cliches. But I was just saying that the females' appearences are cliche also.

I think the ratio is fine. 8 in SSF4 is plenty, and I highly doubt MK will have 35 characters by the time all the DLC is pumped out...

If they're going to add more females, I guess Tanya would fit.

I've been satisfied with the amount of females in the past few games. MKDA had 5, which may not seem like much, but compared to the two in MK4, it was an improvement. MKD had 9 if you count Kitana and Frost from Unchained.

So I'm pretty content with the females. Though more is more than welcomed. As far as THIS game, I'm set. We have all the necessary ones, Kitana, Jade, Mileena, Sindel, and Sonya, that red chick(I think she'll turn out to be Scarlett and be playable), maybe throw in Khameleon as a secret character and I'm good. Anyone else can be DLC. Didn't bother listing Sheeva because I'm pretty sure she'll be left high and dry. Smh.

DOA4 has 9 females, 10 if you count Spartan-458 since she's a guest character. 22 characters total counting Spartan-458 and Tengu. It's almost 1:1 but not quite.
