He'll probably sell far better than Kenshi, Skarlet and Rain. Maybe even combined. He has the advantage of a lot of hype and being a hugely well-known character so it'll probably be very profitable.

I think his sales will be EXTREMELY high rather a few pissed of regulars here buy him or not.

As an avid MK fan for almost 10 years, I can tell you that I am going to purchase Freddy, and I'm sure he will get a monumental amount of sales.

It was a smart business move. It's an EXTRA character that no one has to buy. He will not ruin the game. As far as guest characters go, this is probably as good as anyone's going to get.

And anyone who was truly expecting someone like Tanya, Reiko, or Fujin to be this secretive is kind of foolish... I was expecting a guest character. There would be no way they would simply throw Kenshi directly at us and hide a character of equal value .

I'm pretty ecstatic that it's Freddy. He's been my favorite Horror movie monster since I was a kid. I'm relieved that it isn't some lame ass character like Tanya (seriously, why have people been shitting their pants to get her?). His moveset and Fatalitles look superb, and I can't wait to make him one of my mains.

Awesome! Here's hoping Jason is included in future DLC. I was always a bigger Jason fan than Freddie.

I'm not sure why to think, I'm very disappointed that it's a guest character but for it being freddy he actually looks okay.... Now give me a damn cyber smoke costume!

Guest Character isn't surprising and it would be terribly stupid of them to end all Downloadable content with Krueger so I'm sure that more characters and costumes are coming and that Cyborg Smoke has a chance along with Khameleon and Tanya. Jason is pretty much a given though.

When the rumors of Freddy and Jason first started I thought it was a really stupid idea. But, after seeing Freddy in play, I'm actually pretty excited for him.

But I'm guessing it'll look more like this

Robo-Smoke

I really hope they just make Robo-Smoke a skin for Smoke. There's no need to make him an entirely new character. But that's another subject.

As much as I love the gameplay of MK9, I hate the worst case scenario story. The story can and has done so much better in the past.
So now the story is even more true it's a nightmare, with a visual. Plus I'm always a fan of Freddy Kruegar so it's an enjoyable character.
I'll be buying.
