I love how interactive The Bridge arena is. I actually just noticed a boat on fire going beneath you as its being chased by some sort of dragon. That is fuckin amazing.

There isn't a single arena that I dislike.

I can safely say, this is the MK I've been waiting to play all these years!

Everything looks top notch. From the aggressive and fast paced fighting, to the graphical fidelity, fluid combo animations, high level gameplay, dynamic backgrounds, etc.

After looking at the new gameplay videos, I'm sold. And I'm sure many of you feel the same way...

I agree with you man. NRS has really outdone themselves with the stage design. I noticed the dragon thing too. Absolutely hilarious and awesome at the same time.

OH......MY............WORLD!!!!

Sonya's Gameplay is BADASS! And tons of Sonya coverage is just what she needed.

So far I've only seen the Sonya Blade videos (I'll finish the rest soon) and I'm a very very happy and impressed Sonya fan.

Not only am I impressed with her videos, I'm also thrilled to see so much new coverage, interviews, and special videos featuring her X-Ray, specials, and combos.

This is exactly what I was talking about. And fans are all clearly excited.

Anyway, as awesome as her gameplay seems to be, I have quite a few problems. I really do.

The Good:

1) Very cool intro. I love her voice.

2) Absolutely wicked combos and fast-paced attacks. All those high kicks and punches were glorious.

3) The return of ALMOST all her specials.

4) Nice win round animation ("Yeah!). Nice Tag-out animation ("Sonya Out!").

5) Perfect hair. I'm loving the movement of her sexy bangs.

6) I am now convinced (for I was not sure before) that her Arc Kick is one of my favorite specials and I'm glad it replaced the Square Wave Punch. Looks awesome and dangerous.

7) Cool grab!

8) Excellent special kicks attacks (knee to the face + high kick).

9) Energy rings look awesome + Leg Grab looks insane.

10) Her X-Ray is arguably one of the top best we've seen in the game. Very stylish way to break a neck and a perfect homage to the films and a wonderful nod to the fans.

The Bad:

1) I see no Vertical Bicycle Kicks Special move (coming up and down). WTF!!!?

2) Her Victory pose looks nice and fitting, but, I'm disappointed they gave her "the salute" once again. I was tired of seeing her doing that and I'm not happy they couldn't come up with something more original. I love hearing her speak, but, she should have gotten something different. Why the salute all over again? I'm tired of it.

3) What the F*CK is up with her Kiss special? While it certainly looks so much flashier and better, it also seems like the damage range has been lowered and that while doing all those fancy flashy movements before blowing the kiss she is open for some serious punishment. WTF?

Unless all that Kiss mist around her actually protects her and blinds the opponent, I don't see why they made it this way. It seems like the opponent is only affected when she actually blows the kiss into their face, not while she is covering herself around it. Can someone please confirm? Does she cause impact during the mist creation? Or just after the blow?

She does indeed. Her gameplay is looking very promising and fun. However, I dislike that Gamespot Article (and the video Interview with Ed) where they state that she's become tougher to master and less accessible as opposed as to how she was before. Good thing is they claim her to be quite the versatile.

about 0:43 it seems that you can stay on the ground for a bit after being thrown. Cage lays there waiting for wake up input it seems Edit: also i hear a distinct "toasty" at the end

Also, if the Kombat Zone was changed the other direction where you could actually see the submerged brigde and fight on the connecting street, then that would technically be the Waterfront.

Did anyone else notice during the scorpion vs. johnny cage fight that the announcer says FIGHT! differently for different rounds? For rounds one and three its basically just FIGHT! but for round two it's more like FIIIIIIIIIGHT! Check it out around the one and two minute marks you can hear him say it.

Yes absolutely. I also noticed it with FINISH HIM. I think they are going with a more dynamic approach this time around instead of just making the announcer say things one way. I just wish/hope that these minor variations are also present in terms of fatalities, so they don't get boring to watch, after performing one so many times.

I can't believe I still haven't seen the other videos.

I'm hoping for some intense Johnny action.
