In one way it sucks. Withholding content then charging later for it.
Take DR2 for example. I couldn't find a pre-order bonus in my country yet there were loads in the US. So in order to get one I had to wait and pay for a DLC even though I did pre-order it.
Haven't noticed any pre-order bonus for MK yet but there's still a while yet.
Got no complaints with them making and charging for new DLC.

Mother mercy...
You know, as bonus material this actually isn't that bad. It replaces nothing, though the sheer amount of fandumb will spam the online with the plain design. Seriously, taking off the model texture and recoloring it and making minor photoshop adjustments is not work, modders do MILE time better rewamps home (like TES:Morrowing texture packs that put Oblivion to shame sometimes). Then again, this is a bonus, not part of the main body, so I have no right to complain.
But I am also a sucker for the MK1 cloth look.

Gotta disagree.

It's debatable, but in my eyes, I see texture.

Hmm, I see this for the first time. Yeah, I can see the textures in it now but they are not as clear as those in their MK2 costumes. I'd say the textures resemble those of MK2 more. Still seems like a mix of their MK1/MK2 costumes to me.

Well, the costumes are very similar, for sure. The belt, hood, gloves and shin guard are all definitely MK1, though. I think the presence of MK2 comes from the higher definition sprites being able to display the texture in the clothing more clearly.
Not really that big a difference between the two, though.

True, but you see, the textures make a big difference (to me at least). When I think of the MK1 costumes, I don't see the textures because they were so unclear (I only saw them after you just posted that image). Their MK2 on the other hand, as you said, were much more clearer due to the sprites. Also, I have a MK2 book from ages ago in which the textures are very clear, so I have always associated the textures with the MK2 costumes.
But the two are pretty similar indeed.

The game constumes may have had textures, but all the pictures in the manuals and comics did not have textures for MK1 (quilting on the tunic for those that don't know whats going on).

I hope all the original looks are back as an alternate outfit
