No, this is NOT a thread about making a gay MK character or created exclusively for the gay and female MK community.

Keep an open mind, please, in order to get the points I'm trying to make.

So, I read this post in a thread and found it funny, but, also a rather interesting observation:



I know this was meant to be a joke, but, it got me thinking: how many people would actually be against seeing something like this for their male MK characters as DLC (or future alternates)?

Take a look:



It really doesn't seem like an over-the-top idea considering how much NRS likes to sex-up our beloved MK females.

This could actually work for a few male characters in which it would "make (some) sense" to dress this way.

There's quite many video games who feature "provocative" looking male characters and they are not necessarily gay or "gay looking". Their "Half naked" or "provocative" looks just happen to fit them and make sense.

Fighter-fans/gamers out there can give out quite a few examples of male characters like this.

These kind of "half naked male costumes" could provide interesting entertainment for gamers. And no, not just the females or the gays.

It wouldn't be anything inappropriate or that feels out of place for a character, of course. I personally don't see Scorpion sporting a costume like that, but, to be perfectly honest, it is a look that I now see befitting for characters like: Rain, Smoke, Nightwolf, and even Sub-Zero and Shang Tsung.



Provocative looking male MK fighters...not really a crazy idea.

I'm not saying do it just for the sake of doing it. No. I sincerely believe it can work for some characters, add variety, and spice up the level of entertainment without crossing the lines.

I'm not talking about something like this:



As "fun" as that is, it is definitely not the point. A perfect example of unnecessary, crossing the lines, and, well, just too much.

The MK Females have already (almost) crossed the line, now more than ever with the whole "body/cloth damage" that we have seen since MkvsDC.

I'm interested to know how many fans would approve of seeing something like his. Also, I'm wondering how much would some fans oppose to this idea. And why? Is it because it makes people feel uncomfortable to look at guys dressed like this?

I find that reason a bit silly considering half naked Shao Kahn, almost nude Shokans, and sexed-up Johnny Cage, MK3 Subby and Shang Tsung go by without any kind criticism.

So, would you honestly find this interesting or entertaining for some of the male Mk characters? If not, what is it about this possibility that makes it so hard to accept or understand?
