I see lots of you fed the troll post here. Know how I know it's a troll post? The OP is complaining that the games he LOVES do not get good scores on MetaCritic, of all places, and that they therefore suck and he should never play them and feel embarrassed for ever doing so in the first place.

If they sucked, why would he play them? He loves them, therefore he doesn't think they suck. It's a matter of opinion, people. That said, the notion of giving up on the MK series because it scored 10 points lower on MC than SF did is retarded and should be given no credence by anyone. End of the day, you're going to play what you like to play and that's it. Am I going to never play Final Fantasy XIII again because it's rated lower than many other games on MC? No, fuck that and fuck their site, because I think that game kicks ass. Play the games you want to play and don't let anyone judge you for it.

Solution: donate your copy to someone, who can't afford the game and move on to the "superior" game of Street Fighter

Out of this post and your others, you didn't mention if you actually like the game or not? I see that metacritic gave SF and higher score but what do you really think about it?

Metacritic has The Social Network at 95 but I very much enjoyed Inception better which got a 74. I do like both movies, but it doesn't mean that just because SN got a higher score it should be better to me. Everything is based on popular opinion and in mine both SF and MK are great games but for me I prefer MK.

As long as you like the game enough critics' scores are nothing.

MK offers us blood, guts and gore! Oh wait, did I forget to mention....BLOOD? Not to forget about the fatalities. Does SF offer any of this? NO! Killer Instinct rulz over SF. It won't happen but, there would be more of a chance of seeing MKvsKI than MKvsSF.

This thread screams troll so much that I don't even know why I posted...but seriously though...being a critic will get you nowhere. Being a respectful reviewer with facts is another story. The purpose of a review is for consumers and gamers awareness of what the game is all about in a detailed summary. It is not suppose to be a rating number based on peoples opinions. If you swear by the opinions of metacritic or your friends than stick with it and do not bother going anywhere else because it is obvious you will either end up playing games you dislike or be hassled by people when you make stupid threads like this one.

The flamy nature of the OP aside, he's right.

This is about as good as this series is going to get. I mean, with shoulder-button supers, dial-a-combos, Fatality trainers et al, the series is only going to become more 'accessible' and causalized in the future; so this is almost certainly as good as it gets.

And as harsh as 'giving up' on MK may sound (to fantards at least), I think this is sound advice for anyone who interested in FIGHTING GAMES beyond how much claret they spill.

If people keep supporting these sub-par efforts, they'll keep churning them out and they'll without doubt keep getting worse. So there obviously needs to be a circuit-breaker to these half-baked turds, for the sake of the series; why not make it MK9?

Dial-A-combos are set ups and are used to continue with the combo. They are not the entire combo.

And the circuit breaker that you're talking about.
Why not make it MK9? Because it's a great game. That's why.
If you want a circuit breaker, make it MKA. Or MKvsDC.
