i have to say that i am pleased with jax. i never thought i would say that. i liked him in mk2 but never since. and by mk5 i thought jax was an embarrassment with his ghetto thug shit. he was supposed to be a proud american soldier in mk2 and it seems he has gone back to that. i like jax's grapple combos. he fights nothing like any of the other characters revealed so far and this is a mighty good thing. unbelievably i give a thumbs up to the mk9 version of jax.

the subway stage looked great as did the classic sub fatal. great, great footage overall. felt like mid 1990s all over again.

This is the first time I've thought Jax looked good in pretty much forever. Not that he was awful in MKvsDCU, but to me that didn't look much like Jax at all.

Going off of the screenshots I'm going to say that I am not impressed with Jax's look. He's not looking like he did in DA-Armageddon so I guess that's something...

everything is great with jax except the gun on his back. They need to get rid of it imo

Even though I haven't seen it yet I'm glad I get to read about what it is, both reveals I didn't see coming at all, which is cool. The Subway Fatal sounds brutal as hell, can't wait to see it.

@ Torture - I am a student on Exchange in Montreal right now and have no TV (lol). The counter on GTTV website says another 2 hours and 40 minutes before "new fatalities revealed". Just waiting to see what others have confirmed.

Well he is a soldier more than a martial artist so I understand why he has gun.Being in the army myslef they always teach us never leave without your weapon or never enter a fight without it so they got the feel of what a soldier is suppose to be like.The flag was a nice touch to.

Anyway back on topic, I don't see Jax using the gun for an actual in game move, think it will be for his 2nd Fatal? I can see it now, 75 streams of blood shooting and squirting out in every which way possible, heh.

Jax is immensely badass, and more importantly, looks *incredibly* fun to play! He still has his one-liners as well, namely "Gotcha", and after the final Gotcha punch, he goes "YEAH baby!" in a somehow non-corny way. Looks really satisfying to pull off. His X-Ray: he throws you up into the air, grabs you and snaps your back on his knee, throws you up into the air again, grabs you again, and breaks your whole body over his shoulders.

The subway was downright amazing. During the fight, trains will go by in the background, leaving huge tornadoes of paper, dirt and trash floating in the air. The fatality was more like a choreographed spectacle rather than "hit the guy into some spikes" like we've seen so far... the windows shattering against your defeated opponent's head, a massive smear of blood being left behind on the surface of the train, followed by the eventual toss into another oncoming train... great stuff.

Ed also answered a couple Twitter questions, the interesting one being that there is a possibility of Tag Team Fatalities appearing, depending on things like time constraints.

On Topic: The gun to me somehow doesnt seem bad this time. I havent seen him use it so hopefully we wont see that weird areal backstroke swim thing from the old games when he shot people

I wasn't expecting the MKVSDC characters to have that much of an upgrade but they totally re-invented Jax. I'm sorta happy because I wasn't a huge fan of his bald head in MKVSDC. I love the black metal arms. Can't wait to see the actual footage!
