And yet, because of the inclusion of one BONUS character who isn't part of the story you are talking like you're ready to boycott the game or something. I don't understand you feeling so entitled as to think every single aspect of the game has to be up to your liking. Or you've been "betrayed".

Yeah except half the characters in that game were crossover characters, and theres one in this. And unlike that game he isn't part of this game's story. You're comparing apples to oranges.

Agreed. When making a game 'for the fans', the last thing you do is make non-MK characters invade the universe that the fans know and love. Just think about the fact that they could have used the time and money spent on Kratos, and put it on a character from the actual MK universe that's now being left out. While I'm not a huge Rain fan, I'm sure a lot of people will be very upset that someone like him (or could be anyone else from the games, really) had to make way for a character that's got absolutely nothing to do with the franchise.

The only troll is the person who keeps belittling everyone else's opinions. I don't care if you disagree with me about it being detrimental for Kratos to be in the game. Its getting pretty old that you have to act superior to everyone who disagrees with you. And I think you're just projecting by accusing ME of being a troll. Sorry but I'm a lifelong MK fan and I happen to disagree. No one is going to be left out due to Kratos. I think everybody from MK1 through UMK3 will be in this game. They're not going to retell those stories and leave any of the characters out.

This isn't SoulCalibur, we don't need a guy toting two magic swords to come into what is, at it's core, a hand to hand fighting game. I'm not doubting that aesthetically he'd blend in well, but gameplay wise, he shouldn't work.

Just as well, this game was supposed to be a return to form, and a throwback to the traditional roots of MK. Guest characters and crossovers are NOT the roots of MK. He'll probably end up being a PS3 exclusive too. While I have no problem with this, it worries me that this means we may also get some Xbox 360 exclusive guest character like medieval Master Chief or a naked Marcus Phoenix, so I'm not really on board for this
