Such a worthless addition. That spot could have gone to someone else including Rain.

I can think of five good reasons to argue against this, but I would prefer to actually discuss this character, rather than saying how much of a waste she is to the game.

I don't understand everyone's obsession with making her more "feminine." I love what they've done with her in this new iteration, but why does a female half dragon/half whatever have to be beautiful?

From what we've seen of her(that snippet) I love it though. I'm not mad at more feminine features. They're easy on the eye, but I don't understand why people think she's worthless and/or needs to be hot.

I agree with you. I don't want her to be as attractive as Kitana in this game. That's not what she is supposed to look like.

But unfortunately they gave her more of an attractive look, which makes me frustrated, they could have kept her butt ugly like she was in MK3. I liked that face.

Icey, I also realized in that quick shot of her in the vignette her leopard like spots on her skin are not present either. I dunno if them images were actual renders from in game or just artwork but I figured I would point that out.

This game needs another grappler besides Jax and Sheeva is a great choice.
Give her all her classic moves but also throw in an anti-air grab, a grab that launches the opponent to set up combos, and a crouching grab.

Yup. This. I would definitely have rather seen Rain than horseface Sheeva. Sareena would have been a nice addition too, since according to MKMSZ, she was around at this time too.

I have been impressed with the fatalities and stage fatalities so far and think kano's really takes the cake. However If sheevas skin rip is in, I think it could be the goriest fatality mk has ever had

It would be nice is she's a slow power-house-grappler, just to give more variety. Unless somehow Kintaro and Goro are playable and balanced, then they can be the "slow power-house-grappler" and Sheeva can be a faster hybrid of that.

I certainly hope they didn't just give Sheeva her old MK3 outfit! I mean it was just a baywatch swinsuit and we are in 2011! I would be extremely dissapointed if they leave her as she was back then while redesigning all the others' costumes

Sheeva's situation now is similar to Shang Tsung's situation previously. Everyone saw Shang in the vignette, hated him because of the poor visual depiction, and then though he was awesome when seen in-game.

Sheeva's going to be no different. As a matter of fact, this will be even more so true because the image we have of Sheeva now is even worse than the one we had of Shang then.

It does seem like they've made her appearance more feminine, which I'm not really for or against, but I gotta ask: what's the point? Did they want her to look more attractive? Cause it ain't working. Sheeva was previously unattractive NOT because of her muscular and inhuman appearance, but because women don't look hot with mostly-shaved heads. Seriously, if you photoshop a conventional hair style on MK3 sheeva, she instantly becomes more attractive.

This feminine look goes against consistency, and whatever goal they had for doing it seems to be a dead end.

I actually like Sheeva. She was a great character in MK3 with a great set of ethics and morality that set her apart from being a brainless brute or a mindless lackey. She had goals and aspirations, and this game sounds like it'll really do her justice.

For starters, with Sindel in the game, and Sindel being evil again, Sheeva is back to protecting the queen, just as Kintaro protected Kahn. I think it would be interesting if Sindel and Sheeva developed a bit of a friendship based off of this, something that might shift power to the Shokan once Sindel gets more power.

Concerning Sheeva's appearance, I like it. She looks just alien enough to be a terrifying Shokan, but also surprisingly attractive. Let's just say I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers. She's slender, sleek, and probably much faster and less bulky and cumbersome than she was in Armageddon. I like it.

The only thing I sort of miss is it sounds like Motaro may not be in the game, so whether her iconic rivalry with the centaur is mentioned or if she gets any vindication in battle against him isn't entirely a shoe-in. They'd have to do something new with her this time, something to make her just as interesting. A new rival, a new goal, something that makes her less of a background character and more of an active participant... and Sindel seems like the biggest connection she has.

Let's put her in high heels.

Ed Boon is a total asshole, he turns every woman into a freaking pornstar, he is obsessed with boobies, naked ladies and probably took all models from MK9 from bootbabes, ugh I hate those no-life bootbabes.

Sheeva should have been ugly like she was before, not some stupid half naked model.

Its very depressing how bad they are at designing shokans... Goro looks plain boring and Sheeva probably goes the same road too bad... a shokan is just a big human with 4 arms, how difficult is it to give it proper and cool armor/clothes?

The only shokan they probably ain't gonna fuck up is Kintaro, he looks best out of the 3.

But yes i'm pretty much happy that she at least made it into the game, now give her a fucking proper story and don't turn her into a beauty contest pin-up.

Sheeva tends to have a difficult hill to climb when it comes to getting in to the hearts of many MK fans. Is it her appearance? Well, possibly, but I don't think it's really as simple as "she doesn't look like a hot, two armed skank, let's boo her mercilessly."

For me, I've always been kinda lukewarm on her story. Perhaps that's partially because I'm not that in to the whole shokan/centaur storyline. On the scale of plotlines, it tends to rank near the bottom in terms of importance or priority (though that's highly debateable).

I also think that she sort of started out as a bit of a gimmick character. You want to play as a big, powerful Goro type character? Well, here you go. I think that's always kind of worked against her, especially considering the fact that she really wasn't that overpowering in MK3, so I think a lot fans kinda felt ripped off.

I think that what could end up being her saving grace is her moves and combos. Players will flock to her if she has great combos that take advantage of her four arms and special moves that take advantage of her hulking strength.

It kinda sucks for Sheeva fans, but in order for her to be more well received in the MK community, she's going to have be great, not just good, in this upcoming game. I'm hoping they'll improve upon her story and give her a bit more to do (I know, again, the amount that she's done or her overall importance are both highly debateable), as that could add a little to her overall perception as well.

Moves?

Well yeah, she should have several throws, not just a few. Any way that they can use her arms advantage to innovate this character, I'm all for. I wouldn't mind seeing them give her Hsu Hao's clap move (it would fit her better anyways). I also wouldn't mind seeing a way to stomp on your grounded opponent manually after her teleport stomp.

But there are just small ideas. I think that her move list, given how unique she is, has virtually limitless potential. The real question is whether or not the MK team can capitalize on that potential and really think outside the box (God I hate that workplace cliched expression) with her.

We'll see. I don't have very high hopes, but then again, I didn't have high hopes for Stryker and now I can't wait to use him, so there ya go!

Oh it's gonna happen, I am eating my sun flower seeds and being anxious. It's gonna happen.



How do you know he'll be in this game?

Definately. She should be a little quicker but a little weaker than Jax. That way she is different and she still has some similarities to the other female characters.

The vignette made her out to be really evil. I always thought she was simply Sindel's body gaurd and she really didn't care for either side. Could somebody clear that up?

According to her ending in MK3, she turns out to be, or what I claim to be, is neutral since she defeats Kahn and Motaro and heads back to her race and restores it all.

And I'm not even going to mention what she did in Armageddon.

Since Sindel is currently evil during this time, she is evil as well since she was hand picked to be her bodyguard. So basically she's an evil character for this time until her ending comes, and that is if she even has an alignment change.

That leak is all over the place, and that one guy already said it, well its kinda true, Kintaro will return, gladly.

He's the best of the worthless Shokan, he at least knows how to dress.
