One thing I like that MK does VERY well is to create characters that are both attractive yet monstrous at the same time. Mileena is definitely a "hot" girl, but her fangs are monstrous. Sareena is beautiful, yet she has a horrific demon side. Sindel looks quite beautiful, but has those banshee traits from her undead status. Sheeva, too, has really good feminine qualities, but meshed with the monstrous nature of the Shokan.

A beautiful monster. Always liked that type of design.

God I hope they don't just rip the moves from Goro and Kintaro and give it to Sheeva... one or two with changed properties wouldn't be too bad but they really need to give her her own move set. I kind of expect that from their "all characters will play differently" statement.

Do you ever not go into topics to gripe about things? Ever since the first time I've seen you post I've only ever seen you complaining. It's like you avoid going into topics where you won't, instead seeking places where you can be bitter.

Nah, you haven't seen me in all the topics. I've been non-bitter plenty of times. If I'm critical, it's just because I want MK to be great like it once was. MK3 was the beginning of the end--well, with all the nonsense in that game, it was the end for me. For a long time I didn't even look at MK, I've never even touched a copy of DA. I just don't want that to happen again. Of course if it does, I guess there's SCV coming out eventually.

Being bitter or critical might not change anything, but that's my reaction to when I see something that's really awful IMO.

Sheeva just ruffles my jimmies. Really just about everything that came out in MK3 is not to my taste.

First off, I must say I am SOOO Excited to finally see Sheeva! She is my favorite character, and I was just incredibly nervous to weather she would make the initial game or not.

I am very impressed with her overall appearance. Its definitely an improvement for me. I like the fact that she looks beautiful, yet at the same time intimidating. Mostly, I am happy with the fact that she is slim again. The bug bulky man, chyna resembling thing in MKA was a disaster!

I hope that she gets a voice similar to MK3, or something more feminine than what it was in MKA.

As far as moves go. I would like to see the same moves that she currently has, but revamped to look better. I would hope that she at least gets one new move, to separate her from the other Shokan.

I am really hoping that her fighting style is faster and more agile, similar to how she was in MK3.

I think she looks soooo good, she was too buff and manly in Armageddon.

She seems thinner, more athletic and alienesque like she did in MK3.

I hope her voice is like MK3s, thats one of the things that makes her unique.

Sweet, Sheeva thread is epic.

Appearence: at present, I don't think we have enough for me to make a full assessment. She looks good though, she retains an intimidating look, but she looks like she'll be agile this time:) I think the MK3 look is fine, several characters got a minor update from their previous incarnations and the look works for Sheeva. Shokans don't appear to be huge fans of clothes ha. I like that she doesn't look like MKA Sheeva, really bulky and stuff.
I like Sheeva to look scary, like a shokan should. She does look a bit more feminine, which is fine, as long as they don't try to make her diva pretty because that's not what Sheeva is about, she supposed to be a scary and intimidating warrior, she just happens to be female and she doesn't have to be/need to be pretty.

Gameplay: Nothing to go on at present, but I'm hoping for her fireball and telestomp to return, but she needs three unique special to fit her playstyle. I'd give her a few grapples and some spider like attacks that take advantage of her arms, not sure though. I want her to be a strong, but swift grappler, not extremely grapple heavy but maybe one or two would be cool. I'm really hoping she's agile and light on her feet, a nice contrast to her bulky male counterparts.

Story: Sheeva's MK3 story is good to me, but it would be nice to give her a bit more. I'd like to see how she develops a close bond with Sindel and really cares about her happiness and safety, not simply because Kahn said protect her. I'd like to see her distrust of Kahn and her disdain for Motaro. It would be nice to see her turn against Kahn earlier, but instead of rushing blindly into facing him, she could become more strategic and calculating. Sheeva's well founded and merited distrust of Shao Kahn, coupled with her morals and fierce warrior culture pride, alongside her graceful poses etc makes me believe that Sheeva is highly intelligent, elegant and plays her cards wisely, I hope to see her collaborate to shut Kahn down when she finds out he has betrayed her trust and was using her as a mere pawn, very few henchmen in MK if any have ever done this, so I hope Sheeva breaks the mold.

I hope to see her in Raiden's upcoming combo video, would be epic to get a feel for what she's about appearence and gameplay wise.

Throw in partial-armless kombat at the same time, and you'd almost have a normal girl. There'd be a lot of blood and stuff, but you guys know what I mean.

Well, beyond the two toes, three fingers, leopard spots, head horns, glowing red eyes, possibly green blood, and the ability to teleport and shoot fire out of her fingertips.... totally normal. wink

I'm very particular when it comes to how Sheeva looks. I love how she looked in MK3 but I haven't liked any other appearance or the other Shokan's appearances since Deadly Alliance (I think Goro looked awesome in MK4). This is mostly down to proportions and face. It's impossible to tell what she looks like from Raiden's vignette. I hope they've done her justice because Goro looks quite good in this game, for the first time in a long time.

Basically it all comes down to long legs, small waist, broad shoulders, her facial structure should be a female take on Goro's - not a more masculine take on a female's. And she should be tall and stand up straight. In Armageddon she hunched down and it looked really wrong. Sheeva should tower over human opponents.

I've always liked Sheeva. She represents the female Shokan in a very nice way, though her gameplay was rather clunky in MK Armageddon... but so were everyone elses to a certain extend. :P

I don't want Sheeva to look like a top model with four arms though. I like her monstrous features, her masculine and powerful looks, yet feminine and matriarchal features. Her main outfit in MKA was perfect for her, in my opinion, and I loved her looks overall in that game.

Gameplay wise, I don't want her to be a Goro/Kintaro rip-off. I would like for her to be more agile, but still powerful. I've always seen Sheeva as a potential spider-like fighter, being creepy in the way she moves and such, because that's how I felt she was like in MK3. I'd like to see that return.

Sheeva is one of my favourites. Of course this little cameo in Raiden's video doesn't make justice to her, but, she seems to be slender, but fierce at the same time, sexy and certainly will be well designed. I am happy she is confirmed to be in main roster.

I hope she has teleport stomp and fireball, at least.

Her skin rip fatality probably will be cool to see, and I cannot wait to see her X-Ray !

Sheeva FTW !!

I just want Sheeva to play differently than Goro and Kintaro.

It was one thing when Goro and Kintaro weren't playable.

But when they are, Sheeva is just a "me too" character.

I thought that was confirmed.

I always just assumed at least goro would be playable. I don't see why he wouldn't be. Well, actually I do, but I don't think it would effect anything if he were.

If Kintaro's in he BETTER be playable.

Favorite Shokan, by far.

I've actually always been a fan of Sheeva. I always found it unfortunate that so many MK fans hated her so much.

Baraka407 got it absolutely right, I think. Sheeva got a raw deal because of how her character was brought about. The only reason she was included in MK3 at all was to appease the fans who wanted to play as Goro. Hence, it didn't feel like they put a lot of effort into her (at least not half as much as some of the other characters.) they basically gender-bendered Goro (with a little bit of tweaking and a speed upgrade) and called it a day.

I think things would have gone very different if they'd actually spent time to make her unique. If they had made it less about making a playable Goro and more about adding a cool new character who happened to be a female Shokan. She should have had the trademark Shokan tele-stomp, for sure... but from there she should have been given unique special moves that took advantage of her added speed and agilty for being a smaller female Shokan. If they had put that kind of effort into her (and a deeper story). I'm sure she could have been one of the fan favorites.

I don't agree with some of the comments that she should be slower and more powereful. (However, I begrudge no one their opinion) I think this was be a bad way to go with her. Goro and Kintaro have that covered. She's got to move away from being "Goro w/ Boobs". Sheeva's got speed and agility over them and she should use that to great effect in her own fighting style. Where Goro and Kintaro are all about brute strength, Sheeva should be about finesse and style.

The way I see it.. they got a chance here to fix the mistakes they made with her. I'm confident that they will do just that. I'm very much looking forward to footage of her in action.

Someone once talked about ways to make Sheeva move and act differently then Goro and Kintaro. Much faster, much crazier, much more like a spider or a whirling dervish. Almost like MK's "Voldo", with arms and legs moving in odd, quick ways. A hand here distracts you while a second hand punches you in the gut. A strike here with one hand, then followed with another, then followed with another, then a kick, then another hand, then the other leg. Six limbs of flying fury, with her teleport stomp only making her an even less predictable warrior of four-armed combat.

I'd like to see them do something like that with her. We already have Goro and Kintaro there for brute force Shokan. Yeah, she's strong, but she should be different. She could be the finesse to their blunt force, the careful and cunning strikes to their huge fist approach. I think that could go over very well.
