Sektor clearly does not give a fuck about fire.

This is the kind of cyborg who walks into a burning building not to save children, but for the glory of being consumed in flames and not giving a rat's ass. Bet he walks away from explosions in slow motion.

Also: Props for Jade and Smoke both shown together in quick succession. Something smells toasty.

I like that staircase on the far side of the Church. It reminds me of the ones in Kahn's Kave, like they deliberately tried to combine the two arenas so they'd have one less to adapt for the game.
P.S., the Graveyard at 0:30? That's not just the one from MKvsDCU, that is footage of MK vs DCU, it's not from MK9 at all.

The Church was always one of my favorite arenas ever and this new version doesn't disappoint.

Mark my words, this is going to be the best MK game ever made. My only complaints thus far have been a couple of costumes. Other than that, I couldn't be happier.

Now only if they use GGPO for netplay...

(hoping somebody reads this, *hint* *hint*!)

Speaking of the Church, I notice Rain is no longer standing there to the right of the altar like he was in all the screenshots of it we've seen.

Suppose they took him out 'cause they're actually putting him in the game?

Well I'm not particularly attached to Rain either, but he has plenty of fans, and there's something to be said for the idea that characters that were in the original Trilogy deserve to be in the retelling.
I'm just thinkin', the Rain model that was in the Church was his Armageddon model. So if they're removing him, it could be because they're working on an MK9 model because he's gonna be playable.
Either that or none of the easter egg characters are in the build they showed us. I don't recall seeing anyone fighting on the second bridge in the Pit either and this isn't the first time I've noticed an empty Pit.

So that means that Deagon and Kenshi might be playable as well? I think they were removed just because.

Daegon and Kenshi weren't in UMK3; Rain was. They don't really have a chance to be in this game, and Rain always did, so that's rather irrelevant.

Maybe he only pops up at certain intervals, walking through a corridor and stopping in. We only saw it for what, six, seven seconds?

Does the home version of UMK3 count?

Just my personal opinion but I honestly believe Rain would be a HUGE wasted character slot in this game

The church looks awesome, also a lot darker than the screen shots where it seemed much brighter. As far as Rain in the background, maybe that changes from time to time as builds go on, the characters in the background of the pit 2 change and we have seen several different people in chains in the Koliseum.

Why wouldn't it count? The console version of games are what counts; those are the final versions.

To be fair, the console versions of UMK3 are pretty weaksauce in terms of things like graphics, gameplay, and resources and...did Rain and Noob even have endings?
Anyway, Trilogy is technically the canon version of MK3. All the bios and endings of those characters are in their final form in those games, like Mileena's original UMK3 bio, which was extremely short and shoddy, was completely rewritten to include mention of Shinnok and foreshadow the plot of MK4, and was acknowledged and continued on from in her MK Gold bio.

I dont think Rain or Noob Saibot had anything in the home versions of UMK3. I think all they had were special moves and maybe brutalities but they didnt have fatalities, bios or endings I dont think.

OMG!!! JADE!!! YEsssssssssss!!! That's all I needed! Can't wait to see my boo! But beyond that...that was an AWESOME Mkast. I loved every second of it.

1.) The church looks fucking gorgeous. So creepy!
2.)Kung-Lao's combo was EPIC as shit.

I feel like I'm going to need pliers to get away from this game. :-p And for the last time THERE. IS. COMBO. SCALING. so no worries about doing mad damage for no reason. I also love that they are including different damage types. I.E. if you're juggling someone heavy, they WON'T stay in the air for long. I am so confident in NRS. Anyone who isn't can go fall off something tall. Also, has anyone noticed how PAINFUL these moves sound? Kitana's boot to Nightwolf's face sounded incredibly painful.

They showed her in her old forms, but that's a sure sign she's coming up pretty soon. Just like Sonya was shown and then she's "leaked."
