Two things....

Is it me or do the animations look tenfold better? Look much smoother.

Kung Lao is a f'n beast. My god. Jax looked sexy too. Hype meter over 9000.furious

I think the animations look great but the girls look too bulky, Mileena is looking too thick in the upper body and I don't mean her breasts I just mean her shoulders and arems and everything are too masculine, same with Kitana to a degree and she doesn't need a 6 pack.

well with only 3 to 4 months to go there doing a great job, hope to see some new characters soon or Sonya gameplay...

The Church is cool, is that a shadow priest or Rain over the body (that appears to be Meat)

I love Kitanas win pose but her eyes look strange they seem to go a funny colour in the close up hmmmm

I hope to see Jade and Smoke in the living forest again that would be a great classic touch ^^

Unlike them hes not the boring ninja anymore he was in MK3T.

Anyway, the church looks beautiful. I think that guy in the background might be Shinnok in his MKA alternate costume. Maybe he's resurrecting Sindel?

Kitana's throws are cool, I especially like the one where she heels the opponent, so wicked and sexy! Love the slow-motion effect too! Still no X-ray though... Damn! It must be epic!
The addition of a laughter at the end of her victory pose definitely makes it more wicked and naughty, so that's a relief...

And.. Yes... Kung Lao... Holy UNIVERSE!!! His combos are so cool-tastic!

Kitana's throws looks so stylish.

Church looks amazing, such beautiful lighting.

Why did they keep editing out footage of moves like Johnny Cages nut cracker.

Love the look of Kitana's win pose in HQ.

That MAD combo from kung lao is amazing! Cant wait to do things like that.

Things are looking good. It looks very juggle friendly, maybe a little too much. Animation seems nice and fluid, but i'll still wait for the final relase to make a final judgment.

Best MKast so far! I love the more 'hardcore' gameplay questions. Looks like we're getting so involved about aesthetics, that we seem to forget that there's a fighting engine underneath.

pros.

adress damage scailing, kombo breakers, super meter. glad they are listening to the gameplay people.

trying to make fighters different. and they have their old combos back. just wish they would have added the sig combos from mk3.

the church might be my fav arena now over shang's palace!!! and is that shang tsung doing the ceremony?? he is the head priest right??

graphics looked better this time around.

i dont know if its going to be the best mk ever gameplay wise but overall its going to be one of the better mk games.

cons.

the animation looks smooth UNTIL it gets into action. the combos really look choppy to me. like the framerate keeps speeding up then droping. maybe its just youtube.....

where the fuck do kitana pulls thes fans from in her pose. at least have her reach behind her back. lol and the wink might have been alright but i lost it when she did that little laugh. WTF!!!

still dont see enough BLOOD and the stances are still bad.

didnt see that many ground combos. looks like everthing is based on juggling.

where is scorpion old sound effect for his spear???

kung lao body proportions really looks silly when he was doing his option throws. and i dont like how scorp was dizzy after the xray and kung lao got more free hits on him. is there stun in this game like sf??

TELEPORT XRAYS!!! OH NO THE CHEAPNESS!!! i hope that doesnt out of hand.

where is the sonya gameplay!!!

Sweet gameplay. Kung Lao combo was pretty cool but comparing what they showed in this and Sub-Zero's gameplay vid, I'm still really concerned about too much juggling and not enough ground combos. By comparison, Scorpion's gameplay vid showed us "hey look cool swordplay and combo enders" but almost nothing about what to expect of his actual "play style". He better not be like he was in MKvsDC and just have nothing but lame juggles to pass off as "combos".

One other thing that has me concerned is if the super meter doesn't fill up enough to use the X-ray's more than once we may not get enough super meter in a match to really use enhanced specials (or breakers for those who are worried about those) enough. Especially since Tag Mode is supposed to use super meter to perform Tag Special Moves and such. Maybe the different sections of the bar should fill at different rates, like the first two (Enhanced Specials and Combo Breakers respectively) fill pretty quick but that final segment for the X-ray fills a little slower?

Also I think if they just add a pre-match handicap option that includes Damage Dealt, Super Meter Fill Speed, and Battle Damage Level that this would solve a lot of people's concerns about too much damage in combos (beyond what damage scaling provides) for those who want ridiculously long (or short even) matches, meters filling too slow or too fast, and also give the option to turn up or down the rate at which the character models sustain battle damage. P.S. Bring on the Warrior Shrine stage and some information about OFFLINE options like will we get 4 player Offline Tag VS!

I am so glad that the MK team knows that they needed to stop with those pointless mini games that was introduced in MK: Deception. That is one of the biggest reasons why I hated that game. Also, why I feel that game was ruined and is my least favorite MK.

The gameplay not only didn't change, but also it also seemed worse that Deadly Alliance. I hope the MK team keeps this mind set that they have with this game for all future MK games. MK is fighting game so, why shouldn't make every effort into improving the fighting engine and added new layers of the engine, instead of adding little to nothing in the gameplay, while spending time adding pointless modes of play(GTA like mode, chess, and puzzle modes.

At last, the MK team is back in the mind set they had in MK1- MK:: DA era, where gameplay was the focus. Overall , I dislike MK(2011) from a storyline/ reboot point of view. I honestly didn't want to go all the way back to the MK1-UMK3 era for a retelling, but the overall gameplay has me interested.

Which genius asked for Konquest being in the game? I mean come on who actually enjoys that crap? I only played it cause you have to unlock characters and costumes, and that's it. I played Deception's and Armageddon's konquest each only once. Completely pointless IMO.

Mini games are alright but I'm very happy they're focusing on the core fighting game, which I've been asking for quite a while.

Kung Lao is a effin-beast! those combos are so brutal. Jax is another beast. Only about 4 months left glasses

Yes they had endings and bioses in home UMK3.
Specifically Rain had both bios and ending in the Sega's UMK3. In the SNES version he didn't have ending, but that was because SNES version was unfinished in many ways.
Noob-Saibot definitely had an ending in UMK3. As for Bios...I couldn't remember it at the moment. But as far as I can say I think he had one. The only characters taht hadn't Bioses in the home UMK3 were Mileena and Ermac. And it was only in the SNES version.
In Genesis UMK3 all characters had Bioses and Endings, except for bosses and Smoke-Human. There was no Bios for him in either version.

It appears to be Shinnok over the altar in the Church, is that Sindel or Meat who he's using his magic on though? I can't really tell. Either way I'm loving that arena, but dying to see the rooftops and the bridge levels. I'm liking how each character plays differently unlike the PS2 era where the dial-a-combo's made everybody's fighting style's almost the exact same.

i love the dark tones and the dark atmosphere present in all of the stages. i hope they keep it like this and get rid of the daytime stages because it does not fit the theme of mortal kombat 3. sun set is the lightest a stage should be.

Tension works either way, Sergio Leone's best film scenes are in broad noon daylight. Plus, suggestion is better, this is partially why MKDA-s stages were better than MK3-4.

I agree with people regarding the animation during the combos.

It doesn't look smooth, natural, or good. It's like, very stiff and like it freezes in bad angles and weird proportions. What's up with that?

Wow...that was really unnecessary. Many people actually enjoyed Konquest and many want to see it return. Whoever asked that question was not an idiot and your post certainly doesn't make you look any good, at all.

OMG how could you say that lol, I hope Konquest Mode is secretly being held for DLC that is for those that enjoyed it/want it, me definitely being one of them, that is if it's like MKD's version.

Yes, Jade and Smoke need to have cameos in the Living Forest and be playable. I don't mind either Smoke but I hope Jade gets some staff action in her combos I miss her UMK3 big combo.

I pray that Rain does make it, he was very unique in MKA and was about the only thing I like in that game besides some of the Death Traps lol, with the return of his Super Roundhouse Kick and control orb along with his jet stream and stream kick, he'd replace the Miz for actually being AWSOME!!!

Church is amazing, and we've seen a lot of semi-graveyard hints previous to this, in either Scorpion's/Sub Zero's videos there were some shots of a graveyard in 3D of some kind that wasnt quite MKvsDC's, yet again MK9 was started around the time they were near finished with that game. I'm just dying to see the Soul Chamber, The Portal, Warrior Shrine, The Tomb, and the entire view of the Balcony.

Epic MKast. The church...WOW!! Kung Lao looks to be a total powerhouse in this game. I feel the game looks better every time they post new videos. I went back and watched the Gametrailers reveal a couple of days ago, and you can see vast improvements over gameplay and detail in the new MKast footage.

I also liked how they said all the single player extras would be centered around the core fighting engine, and they were putting all their time and effort into making sure the fighting was flawless. So excited for the release of this game. Looks to be an MK game that not just the hardcore fans will like, but will gain new fans do to the great fighting engine, and renew faith in people who haven't played MK since the 2D days.

Keep up the great work NRS!! Can't wait to play this bad boy come Spring!!

I loved everything I heard. They adressed combo scaling, X rays, command throws and other gameplay issues. Kung Lao was ripping people apart!
