In guitar hero 3, the achievement for beating ttfaf on expert guitar was only worth 20 points and it was one of the most challenging in the game if not the most. I was damn happy when I got it to unlock. Same with Mile High Club on Modern Warfare. I mean I got 100gs for beating Ninja Gaiden II on master ninja, but all in all. Gamerscore isn't really an issue for myself.

Logical or not, that's how it is. There's no going back and changing it. I don't really care for the actual points received. Ill do what I always do and get all the offline achievements. For the games I thoroughly enjoy it makes it that much easier. Mk will be no different. Ill get the 700 I guarantee it. Then I'll attempt to get the online ones. Achievements serve the purpose of increasing game life and showing kudos. If people play for cheevos they will inevitably enjoy the games more and play them longer. That's how I look at them anyway. I'm not worried about the points. I just wanna hear the bloop. Gives me the feeling of a job well done, and the next time someone compares games with me and let's out a wtf? How did he get that?!. I know I've done a great job.

Any idea what "Get all MK Dragons in Test Your Luck" refers to? I know its talking about Challenge Tower, but what do they mean by all MK dragons?

My guess is that you spin the slot machine and get all dragons.

Like I said in another thread. If this game does not sell a Million in the first Week. I will be blown away. This game has everything an MK fan could want.

At this point I think this game will be able to outsell MvC3, which was an insane thought a couple months ago.

Come to think of TYL. I'm sure it'll be its own seperate game mode. Where you can possibly select how many slots are used. 3-7 or something like that. Also I'd be 100% shocked if it didn't have a multiplayer function (at least local) where you and a friend can play and have to fight against each other without arms or heads..etc

Actually it says "Win Arcade Tag Ladder with robot Sektor and Cyrax" robot is not capitalized. If they meant robot sektor as well as cyrax then it would be capital. Robot Sektor and Cyrax.

robot was lowercase for a reason. This does not mean that we are going to have a playable Human version of Sektor. For the casual players, it was referring to using the two cyborg characters. (depending on whether or not Smokes primary is human or cyborg). That is all it meant. You guys are really over analyzing the smallest things.

Then why would they put robot there in the first place? Its pretty obvious that Sektor and Cyrax are robots.

Awesome achievements. I never cared about how much "value" they were worth (Dead Space only gives you, what, 5 or 10 for beating the entire game with one gun), but some of these are going to be pretty difficult.

The ones that have me worried:

"Win 10 Ranked Online Matches in a Row" - I have never done this in any fighting game. Maybe I'll get lucky and have a winning streak of 3 or 4... maybe 5 or 6... but I've never managed to get good enough to beat other highly skilled players 10 times in a row. I just know I'm gonna be screaming at my TV for this one (probably after winning 9 and then losing to a spammer.)

"Complete Arcade Ladder on Max Difficulty without using a Continue" - Ouch. I hope it's not THAT hard. That sounds like playing Street Fighter and winning on Max Difficulty without using a continue... only you can't spam Zangief's Lariat move... and MK is notorious for having super-beastly bosses that utterly break you even at mid-range difficulties. Just BEATING it sounds challenging... but without ever using a continue? Hardcore right there.

Those are the only ones I'm a bit worried about. The rest are manageable, even if getting Flawless Victories is harder online or the Challenge Tower sounds like a royal pain.

It doesn't specify as to *how* they are unlocked.

This sums up my thoughts exactly. Especially the arcade ladder on max difficulty. I can see myself possibly giving up on these to avert a meltdown.

Anyone else find it odd that theres only a trophy for completing tag team with Sektor and Cyrax whether it be robot or not. Would have thought there would be one with Scorpion and Sub-zero, or Kitana and Mileena/Jade or something. Just weird its only for those two.

Was it confirmed Sektor is a guy? I think the leaked human Sektor clip is a guy.

The audio file was sekh, not Sektor Human. People asumed that was sek(tor)h(uman), but doesn't make much sense, since human (or robot, or any other adjective) is supposed to be placed before the name, and not after.

And, btw, I will laugh 'till death if we see a Lin Kuei warrior called Sekh. Like the Apep's bastard renegade son

Can anyone please explain to me whats the whole point of this Achievement and points and Trophies that I keep earning from my PS3 games?

Is it just for the fun of replay value?

Or am I too primitive to the system that I ignore some special codes/awards you earn after completing all of this stuff or earning all the trophies?

Simple. Only the people that actively follow the franchise know that Sektor and Cyrax are the cybernetic characters. Some person that has never played mk before and gets drawn in has no idea who the cyborgs are. I have not forgotten. Story mode. Considering this runs mk1-3 we are gonna see the automation process so I'm pretty sure we'll have a story mode fight with Human Sektor except since he isn't cybernetic his Special moves will not be usable. That is where the intro will come from. Human Sektor will only be playable post automation. Achievement points increase your gamerscore. Your gamerscore is basically your gamer reputation. Shows how good you are. The Trophies for ps3 serve the same purpose. They both increase game life and replay value. I don't really consider it game reputation on my part though. I've got around 71,000gs I believe, but the only reason I really care for achievements is because they give me more to do in a game. When normally I would beat it and move on. They are just little goals really. Make you feel good when you get a bloop or ding.
