If you want to get technical about it..His mask does have Some features from its previous incarnations....The Grill covering his Mouth/Nose Area...You can just barely make out the black streak going up the center of his forehead (Like sektors). The Black part of his Eyes are still there as well...Where they go out from the bridge of his nose piece and then upwards, ending in a point.

Well, to be fair, Mileena is pretty close to her MKD alt. And Kung Lao looks pretty similar to his other models.

About the head, I'm starting to notice that I'm faulting Cyrax for something Sektor has had since the trailer. Sektor also has the round skull-shaped helmet just like Cyrax. I just never noticed it because his mask was so diverting.

I'm sure Cyrax will look freakin' tight when we see his front pose.

I don't have many problems with Cyrax and Kitana's designs. Kitana is wearing less of course but that comes with the territory.

I do wish they'd have kept the Predator mask for Cyrax. Maybe as an alt.

Something has been bugging me about Sektor and I didn't know exactly what but after seeing Cyrax I figured it out. They don't look like they're made of metal. At least not enough. They need to be shinier, more reflective.

I will Admit That Mileena And Kung Lao, And Even Nightwolf all Share similarities with their past images..but even they have all also had changes, never mind how subtle or in your face they are.

anyone know if there gona be releasing anymore info or characters throughout the day or if this is gona be all today? Either way I think they look great I just wont be happy till I see a few characters definetly confirmed.

I don't understand the fierce dedication to technologically, financially, and creatively restricted concepts and designs from 1992 and 1993. Pacman Reptile head did it's job in a pixel based MKII, but surely we've already had better and should be sustaining that. Even MK4, surely.

On the positive side, I'm glad Kitana is playable, and not just a background character. And holy crap, character's feet are actually in the sand?! Nice.

I do agree everyone looks pretty good. Even Scorpion, who I still think looks way too over-the-top, at least looks great when I'm not focusing on any specific part of him.

Come to think of it, it's the reverse situation with Cyrax.

I pretty much agree, the only stupid thing is Kitana's fans... the knifes should not be visable like that... the paper should be over the knifes, not the other way around.

I think that the takaway for me is that the Clocktower/Belltower, whatever you want to call it, looks freaking amazing! I love the attention to detail and it really fits in with the dark look of the other backgrounds announced so far.

The Desert? Can't really say I'm a fan just yet. I'll need to see more pictures of it. I don't mind a different look than what we've seen so far, but I don't like that it's so bright. I know, the original desert was a daytmime arena, but I just think that they could've done something a lot cooler with maybe a sunset or a stary night sky.

As for the characters:

I think that Kitana looks wonderful. I agree that it would've been nice to see something more "royal" looking, but I'm glad that she doesn't have the outfit that she had in the Khan's arena pictures. She has the light blue color, the boots, the hair... To me, that's a solid take on her.

Cyrax though... I'll have to see more pictures, but he just looks WAY too much like Sektor. I like that there are subtle differences in their costumes, but I was hoping that they would be drastically different.

Oh well, I'll wait to see what the alt costume for Cyrax looks like, but so far, what I've seen hasn't overly excited me, even if I do like these robot redesigns a LOT more than what they originally looked like in past MK games.

I hope that's not just a cheap pre-made trench. I want to see the characters actually displace the sand as they fight.

CYRAX!!!!!!! good god man what have they done to you......he looks sort of like a crash test dummy hahaha, but I will have to wait until I see a better image of him before I make my final word on his costume.

Im pleased with the reveals, I expected Cyrax to be in the game but didnt expect him to be revealed this soon so tahts good.

Im pretty pleased with both Cyrax and Kitana's look.

When I saw Mileena's costume I thought Kitana and Jade (and propbably any female) will be pretty scantilly clad in this game. During this era Kitana/Mileena/Jade are assassins, and although assassins shouldn't look all that slutty, if they do it with one they'll do it with them all. Jade will probably get something similar to her Shaolin Monks attire too if she's in.

People are never ever going to be happy with Kitana's look. She has served different roles throughout the games story, and it would be hard to get something to suit all of them. Her iconic look is swimsuit, and people moaned at that being used too much. Plus the Kitana haters will moan at just about everything, if she got a 'swimsuit' theyd moan at that, if she looks 'slutty' they moan at that, if they did make her 'princess-y' theyd moan that she should be more of an assassin etc etc.

Cyrax's head/helmet does look a little strange, but Im sure its just the angles hes being shot at in the screenshots. I like how they kept him similar to Sektor yet different details differentiate them both. Also liking the green net return.

Im pleased Kitana got a revamp and didnt get a typical swimsuit type costumes, and yes, although this isnt the costume I imagined her to have, I actually kind of like it. She looks good in what they gave her, they seem to have detailed her costume (you can see swrils etc in the boots), her hair looks good.

Looking forward to seeing some gameplay footage. Cyrax's fatality sounds great, and looking forward to seeing which of Kitana's other mvoes return too.

The damage on the cyborgs is great. Cyrax looks fine to me, all I want is his his original stance and I'm happy with him. Agreed that not both cyborgs needed the kabels, but I can live with it. They still look different and cool in their own way. Not so sure if I'm liking Cyrax's fatality..but I'm waiting for videomaterial for good judgement.

Kitana, need better pics of her, but she looks okay to me. Still not a fan of the high heels..but in overall she is looking fine, nothing spectacular, but it will do.

The backgrounds of this MK is still one of the highlights of the game, they are doing a good job on them.

hmm odd cuz when i see kitana in this new pic all i see is mkvsdc outfit. its too close and i was afraid it was going to be. i hate the pale powder blue color, i hate her hair design but thank god that dumb ribbon is gone from mkvsdc, i just... i dunno. hopefully any new pics of her or videos will help but as for design she gets a thumbs down for 1st outfit from me. hope her 2nd rocks and isnt the usual boring mask-less mileena-esque outfit like in mk5, etc. kitana is one of my fave fighters to play with, she was #1 in mk2 for me, and of course how she plays is more important than how she looks,but still its hard to get in to a fight when you think the fighter looks silly and right now she does. i dont even like the fans design :( i want more steel in my steel fans... or at least some more cowbell.

cyrax looks fine. i was hoping for a bit more variation from sektor but his helmet is just different enough, if you look close enough, so they are not exact clones. but the average person who sees the game will likely just think oh they have a red and yellow robot...

thumbs up on the energy net return, though. cannot wait to spam that like in mk3 unless its a special meter move ;)

The same pics are uploaded at IGN now and imo the quality is better. You decide. But for me i was able to see much grander detail in these pics.

LOVE that Cyrax has the net back. I know I'm not the only one who wanted it, and I've been waiting a LOOOONNGGG time to use it again.

The designs are alright. I think they could be better, but I'm just really happy to see both Cyrax and Kitana.

The Belltower looks amazing. Would like to see more of "the desert".

The only reason people are complaining about Cyrax is that his look is not what most people were expecting and it's just different. Me personaly, I thought Cyrax was going to be bigger and more bulky, this one form just looks a little skinny and I can't really see much detail as I can with Sektors costume.
