Modern Warfare players don't know shit about competitive gaming. CoD is like the butthole of gaming, it in its entirety is a jok.e

I hope so. I've been so tired of "hardcore" fighting fans calling the MK series a joke... while Smash Bros. and Soul Calibur IV with Yoda get accepted.

Smash and SC are also considered a joke if it makes you feel better.

oh lord you again....

STFU.... You don't know shit Luca.

Saying MW players dont know shit about competitive gaming makes you look stupid. You dissing on CoD saying its the butthole of gaming.... I bet you dont know half wtf you're talking about. The original CoD, CoD2, and MW1 & 2 are great. Those are the ones inwhich were made by Infinity Ward. However with MW2 things have got to a point of too much bullshit online. You say MW players dont know shit about competitive gaming, yet it is the opposite. If any thing they are too competitive, so much so that a good third of them just cheat. But hey facts are facts and MW is the best online FPS around for consoles. That is why so many people play it.

Also Mortal Kombat never has revolutionized the fighting genre, ever. lol... sad

Soul Calibur isn't considered a joke at all. It is taken very seriously.

Any hardcore fighting game fan that isn't loyal to just one game will tell you the fighters to actually give a damn about these days is,

3D- Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter, and Dead or Alive
2D- Street Fighter and BlazBlu.

Now hopefully MK will be on that list with MK9, but we will have to wait till game is out. And also maybe King of Fighters 13 won't suck shit balls like 12 did.

Now as far as Tekken goes, every hardcore player knows that is the real joke of fighting games these days. Basically because, though it is playable, it isn't deep or just that good. All it is is a pop up fighter. Basically like the past few MK games but better looking.

That's not what they said. They said the fatality's still needed some work. It sais nothing about not being the real ones.

"... a lot of fatality's that you've already seen are gonna have a couple of more elements in them, that haven't been seen yet..."
Now that tells me they still need to refine the fatality's, not that they aren't the real ones.

I don't know of anyone that thought that DoA wasn't flat out awful; competive scene or otherwise. BlazBlu is considered a "dumbed down" version of GG to most. Same thing about BB can be said about SF4 and Tekken 6.

I don't want a fight, this is just the general consensus of what I've heard/been apart of in the competitive scene.

Tekken has had a consistent spot at Evo since the tournament's inception which is a lot more than you can say about DoA or SC. Not to mention that it was Japan's top tournament fighter for ages. It was only replaced with Gundam recently. Just sayin'.

Look at the end of the day mk is trying to regain its place at the table of fighting games. It doesnt matter how we feel about the other games they have their fan base and saying this is lame or that game is lame is pointless at this point.

Mortal Kombat's going for a little more than just a regain. UMK3, while competitive, hasn't seen such a great rise in popularity until recent. I think that we'll see MK at tournaments more frequently. I'm not sure that they'll hit EVO status with this first iteration, but possibly with the sequels that smooth the fighting engine out.

Real talk:

This is an opportunity that this site should really jump on once this game is released. If this game is in fact competitively viable this site should move toward organizing tournaments and building an actual community. MKO will probably never have a tournament on par with Evo or Seasons Beatings, but taking more interest in the competitive MK community and encouraging it to grow will help the game's legitimacy immensely. I mean, I should not be finding more game-play information on SRK or UMK than on MKO.

This site has every aspect of this franchise covered except analysis and strategy. And if the fans here can do such a spectacular job at all the other stuff, I couldn't even imagine what they could do game-play wise.

I'm down i like this idea and this site has been extremely popular lately especially when there is still months before the game comes out. a lot more of the people that probably check the site but dont have an account would make one to participate. This could be very good for MKO.

MKO is a very good site for finding information about the game.

All of you guys do good work of finding information, and togheter with so many eyes on the internet we can find all information we need about the game.

A big thumb up for MKO!

Asfar as the news about the fatalities that aren't really finished yet = YES! So maybe the lightning strikes in the head of Nightwolf, and maybe there will be no clone finisher of scorpion, and maybe Cyrax net fatality isn't finished yet!

COOL news!

DOA1-3 I dunno.... DOA4 though I guarantee is great. It gets hate just because it chooses to be more sex appeal than other fighters, and there is those that dismiss it without even playing it, and/or giving it a fair chance. It is truly great game. I mean it is better than Tekken for sure. It really is the kind of game that MK should of been... but anyways.....

I'm not big personal fans of either, but SF4 and BB are perfectly fine. The people that mainly bitch about SF4 is the people still playing SFTS and they couldnt nor wouldnt ever except another fighter ever to be better than that game no matter what. Seriously that is just how those people think. And BB isn't a dumbed down GG. If any thing I'd say it is actually better if not just on par.

I say decide for yourself and give the games an actual chance. Play them for at least like 25 hours each or some thing before judging them. Sure every one has an opinion, but the majority are bias.

And Tekken, yeah I know its history. I've tried to be a fan of it as well. Ive played every Tekken game. However I never liked it compared to what else there has always been. The fact that it is big in Japan is why it is even big, not because it is good. It is basically like what MK is to the US. If you dont uderstand what I mean well thats your problem.

And Evo.... lol.... people act like that is the only tournament..... Evo is overrated, and it isn't the only tournament that ever happens. So really I dont giva fuck how many times Tekken is there, it doesn't change the fact it is still looked down on by many fighters as being lacking in comparison. Not saying it flat out sucks or any thing, but it isn't THAT great.

Anyways yeah I'm not looking to fight, I'm juss sayin.

So basically you're basing your post entirely on your own opinion, yet still claim to be talking on behalf of other fighting games?

Just because you THINK something is great (ie DOA4), doesn't necessarily mean and definitely does not prove that it is. Some in depth comparisons citing the complexities of all the games that you "have played at least 25 hours of" would do your argument some justice, but at this point it's just opinion based rambling.

But yeah, I'm not looking to fight, I'm just sayin that all that stuff you said was simply opinion (and yes, opinions can be wrong) and SHOULD NOT be misconstrued as fact at all. By anyone.

Sorry man, don't think that will ever happen. Most of Mortal Kombat's fanbase is all about story and about "favorite character" bullshit. Massive amounts of discussion relating to these dominant topics, is apparent in any MK fan board. Very sad indeed. If I want story and character backgrounds, I'll play an RPG. Many MK fans are a joke when it comes to gameplay. Edit: Excuse me, but I forgot MK fans care about "Friendships" and "Animalities" too. sad
