It's strange to call the next iteration of the series simply "Mortal Kombat" but we've seen a lot of this new game at E3, but I'm wondering what else people wanted to see before the game's release:

We know that Sektor, Scorpion, Sub Zero, Mileena, Kung Lao, Reptile, Nightwolf and Johnny Cage are playable and that Rayden and Shao Khan are in the game (though it's unknown whether one or both are playable).

It's believed that most of the cast, if not all, will be from MK1 to MK3.

We know that there's a meter at the bottom for executing pro moves, combo-breakers and X-Ray super moves.

We know that there will be gruesome fatalities.

We know that the story pertains to Rayden sending himself a message from Armageddon back to himself in MK1 and that this will most likely alter the timeline that we'll see play out through a story mode that's either single player or co-op.

We know that there is a tag team mode in addition to robust online play.

What do you want to see in the game in addition to all that we know so far?

Me? I want:

A create a character mode: More in depth than Armageddon's.

A survival mode: This is so basic, yet so enjoyable for the single player experience!

New characters: There are some mediocre characters in MK1 through MK3. We don't need for ALL of them to return. Use those open slots to put some new characters with new moves in as well please!

Tag team fatalities: Just throwing the idea out there.

FMV intros, middles and endings for characters: Nuff said.

Koins: Give me something to earn and wager in online and then spend in the game for new content.

Secrets: Plenty of secrets from new costumes to new characters to well, surprise me!

Three fatalities per character: One classic and two new please!

I'm probably overshooting with alot of this stuff (though I don't think that a survival mode is asking too much at all) but hey, it's a wish list, so why not, right?

I want them to use Nightwolf to diss T. Hawk and Julia Chang. And revamp Sonya. Her moves have always sucked.

For one, what we've seen so far is amazing. However, we DO NOT NEED A CREATE A CHARACTER MODE. It will take away from the characters in the game.

What they should include:

-The Krypt because everyone loved the Krypt
-Alternative Costumes
-Survival, Time Trial, Arcade, Kombo Challenge, Tournament and Endurance Mode should be included
-The Warrior Shrine needs to be in this game

Well so far they have almost everything I want in an MK game. The one feature I want the most is to add custom clothing to characters. This would add replayability, and make every character online look different.

I would thoroughly enjoy a Create-a-Character mode if they could make it even better than Soul Calibur's. However, I do have to agree with SubMan to a certain degree. I think this next game should REALLY focus on the actual MK characters, since it is trying to reestablish the franchise in so many ways. I'd welcome it in the next game, though. I love having a lot of creative input in what character I play as, even if it adds a whole new dimension of crappy characters to online, pitting me against fighters such as "Your Mom" and "BigBoobs McTitties" sleep

I agree. I really don't want to see the likes of Stryker and Liu Kang (among others) elbowing their way back into the story. I'd much rather take a risk with a new character. Worst-case scenario, we get a bland new character, but see new specials and fatalities that haven't already been alluded to in the past. Not much of a loss.

Yes X4. Three Fatalities is the least likely to happen, but we'll live if they include some of that other stuff. And I especially agree with whoever said yes to custom outfits for the characters! I'd love to be able to alter the character's looks myself. Adds a whole new dimension of variety to online in a relatively simple way. Love it!

My biggest wish, however, is for a story mode that will blow me away.

I want a well-written storyline that will immerse me into the events of the game; the equivalent to a memorable film. I want a lot of surprising and well-acted cutscenes. I want lots and lots of fighting sequences, even if it's just two characters sparring.

And finally, and most importantly, I want to see unpredictable character interactions! Does anyone here really want little tight-knit clusters of characters that ONLY interact with each other through the whole damn thing? I don't to keep seeing these "bubbles" over and over:

(Khan, Raiden, Kang)
(Sonya, Kano, Jax)
(Mileena, Kitana)

I want these (and other) "bubbles" to meld together, at least at certain points of the game. Sure, I'm all for subplots and individual goals, but we've been there and done that for far too numerous times. I want to be surprised. I already know how Mileena interacts with Kitana!! How would she interact with Sonya? Raiden? Sub-Zero? This is the kind of thing that will keep the storyline interesting and feeling fresh despite addressing the past.

Everything I've seen so far out of E3 is beautiful. But Ed's "someone might become cybernetic who wasn't the first time" quote is fucking terrifying. How can you make a game specifically for nostalgia and giving the fans their favorite characters from MK1 thru 3, then threaten to drastically change a character? That ain't fair.
So what I "want" from this game now is for the final roster to be the cast of Trilogy, and for every one of them to stay true to the way they look and play in Trilogy.

In the story mode, kill, rape, rip limbs off whoever you want and change the plot around however you like. But on that character select screen I want to see Cyrax and Smoke as cyberninjas and ONLY the original three cyberninjas, Noob Saibot as a shadow-demon dude, and an alt costume for Subbie where he's got a scar down his right eye.

I want just a few little things:

-I want this Sub-Zero to be the Original Sub-Zero and this time he should not be killed by Scorpion. Also i don't want him to be a noble hero like his younger brother but a neutral warrior who fights for good if there is time to chose but remains neutral in most cases. I also want his classic fighting stance from MK1-2 back.

That's it. Everything else i saw about this MK pleased me very much.

From what E3 has shown us, I cannot ask for me honestly. This game is looking amazing, and I absolutely love everything so far. But some requests I can add are :

- A good intro to the game that throughly explains what happened after Armageddon, why Kahn and Raiden are the only ones left fighting, how this time traveling message he sends to him self in the past works, etc.

- Lots of secrets. Ed already said there's going to be a lot of secrets, which is very pleasing.

- Different game modes. Like some users stated above, Survival Mode, Endurance, Time Trial, Kombo Challanges or game modes like that need to be included.

- The Krypt.

- FMV endings.

& that's pretty much it. I'm not requesting any characters or anything like that, because as long as Scorpion's is in it, it's allllll good. I love the cast that's in the game already though. Good to see Sektor, Nightwolf, and Reptile again.

I am completely happy with what I have seen/read so far.So everything except the first & third want is minor for me.
Am I the only one that would like to see friendships and the like back? This game looks perfect for that wtf factor IMO.This is one of my major wants.

I want all the mk1-3 characters back.Don't leave out anyone.Even if a few aren't liked. If it goes back to that time era, then they should all be there.

Hidden secrets!!!!!Tons of them.I know we will get this.

Kintaro as one of the sub bosses in kahns arena. That was epic in Mk2.It should be here as well.

This is a very small want but I want the "Toasty" "Frosty" pop ups back in this game.

This has already been discussed and many don't care for it,but Shangs morphs would be a welcome. He was my main in Mk2 and some of the morph combos you could pull off was wicked.

I know how much it would take and how hard it would be,so i'm not close to expecting it.Just answering the questions of what I would want.

Well of course we don't NEED a create a character mode. But I would like a mode that adds to the single player replay value beyond the online component. A create mode, where everything that you unlock costs koins or whatever, is a nice way to give the players some control over the characters they play as and it lengthens the time spent playing the game because it gives you something to do once the story mode ends and you've unlocked the hidden characters.

I'm not sure what you mean by it "taking away from the characters" though. Granted, I'd like to see a scenario where people online can opt to only play in matches that don't feature created characters so that we don't have to play against the weirder stuff that people can think up.

But for me, I look at this mode as what I'd want to see in terms of MK's side mode. I want this as opposed to kart racing or test your might or MK chess or whatever.

Still, I'm not trying to turn this thread in to a referendum on an ages old MK argument.

Hey, at least we agree on the Warrior Shrine lol. I've always wanted to knock someone in to those statues grin

Id love to see a nice in-depth Konquest mode or a story mode that goes from the beginning of the story to the real ending. Id love to see a Krypt with plenty of Content, like unlockable alternate costumes, unlockable characters, etc. Id love to see more characters via DLC like maybe a few from MK4 or so it dont matter or jst sum gud DLC even new beautiful stages would be awesome. And idk how ppl may feel bout it but it would be awesome if the brought back Chess Kombat that mini-game to me was real fun and id love to use johnny cage on it and other characters as well it was pretty fun even if it was a mini-game cause I actually played it alot too.

Well let me state this: I have been a solid, LOYAL and devoted Mortal Kombat fan since 1992 when I was a mere eleven years old. I have followed EVERY game and stuck through MK through its hard times (MK4, Mythologies, etc)

I was really disappointed in MKA and MKvDC but I still loved every second and played the shit out of them. Something was missing though. I didn't take a week off of work for them like I did for Deception. I didn't stay up for 15 hours on launch day diving into every aspect. I was underwhelmed.

I have wanted and dreamed about my perfect MK game for years now. And do you know what? I think I am finally getting it. I couldn't be happier. This game (so far) is the epitome of all the things I have mentally told Boon to put in the next game.

I have talked about for years, I have said, "Fuck, man. I really want a Mortal Kombat remake. I wanna go back to MK1 and 2 and play through in a new era."
I got it.
I can't think of much more I want. The gameplay looks SOLID. The Combo system is a dream come true. The gore? Fuck me in the ass with a knife, man. Its beautiful. I wanted nostalgia and I got it. I even dig the way they are going with the story. Very clever way to please enthusiasts of a remake and people who wanted a continuation of the dreaded and horrid MKA.
Now what do I want that I haven't seen? Alternate costumes.
Co op in the tag team. I want my buddy and I to be able to play as Sub and Scorp on the same team and fuck shit up
I want them to focus heavily on more MK1 and MK2. I liked MK3 but its my least favorite out of all the classics. Too much modern shit.
I want the sub bosses to be Goro and then Shang Tsung and then mains to be Kintaro THEN Shao Kahn. Now THAT would be a fuckin' challenge.
I want endurance modes.
I want secrets coming out of my fucking ears. I want hidden characters. I wanna UNLOCK characters. I want hidden shit EVERYWHERE.
That said, I want the damn krypt or something like it back.
Thats about it. SOOOOOOO pumped for this game, 9 months is literally going to kill me.

My top 5 most wanted in MK that has not already been shown:

1. Playable 'Light' Raiden and Sonya. Both are almost certain I know, but Midw..*cough*...huh Boon has disappointed me before when it comes to playable characters. Either they are not playable or they are altered so much they're no longer the original character.

2. FMV bios and endings. They should now have the funds to do this.

3. Animalities, Friendships, etc. Mortal Kombat roots is not only over the top violence and gore, but also a touch of corny humor thrown in as well. Not much, but a touch here and there.

4. Konquest, with Raiden as the main character. I want to know how the hell he regained his sanity and then his younger self actually believes the message from the future.

5. Alternate costumes. I'm looking forward to another shirtless Raiden. wink

Bonus:

In collectors edition, a MK comic book based off of the game's storyline.

How sweet would that be?

I am just as much amped and impressed as much as you all are what I would like to see more of is:

A fleshed out storymode that is character specific. If I select a character from the select screen I want to see cutscenes that focus on that character and how their part plays out in the entire plot.

For second player outfits I don't want to see an alternate color, I want to see an completley different outfit all together.

New special moves to already exsisting characters, I love all their classic moves but who says an old dog can't learn new tricks?

And finally MORE FATALITIES!

This game is shaping up to be everything a fan like me could ask for. I just really, really, REALLY want them to have a 1PvsCPU mode and a button that says rematch at the end of a round that lets you rematch without having to pick your characters and reload again. That's all I want; everything else is whipped cream on ice cream.

Never been a fan of these, i tend to get bored of them quite quickly, but if it's there I wouldn't mind.

Should definitely be there, along with team, tag, tournament modes all playable online and offline.

So long as they're decent for sure.

FMV intros, middles and endings for characters: Nuff said.

Why not, but no great loss if there isn't, would rather the game be playable for the long haul.
Koins: Give me something to earn and wager in online and then spend in the game for new content.

I think that's a cheap way of adding longevity to the game. If it plays well you should keep on playing.
Secrets: Plenty of secrets from new costumes to new characters to well, surprise me!

With the internet, once it's exposed everyone will know. I don't think we'll get things like reptile/jad/smoke secrets anymore.

Three fatalities per character: One classic and two new please!

There's only so many ways to kill a person?? I'm happy with 2 each.
