Honestly I thought it looked a lot like Kira to me. Sareena never had red hair. Skarlet would be cool, but I'm not so sure about them making a new character out of an old rumor again. I mean, its possible, and yes I would prefer that it be Skarlet, but I just figured she would look a bit different than a rip off of Kira.

I can see Sareena infiltrating the tournament under the name "skarlet" the same way Bi-Han did under the name Noob Saibot... Could be a way to take the skarlet character and Sareena at the same time.

Its clear that the background character, is no where near as detailed to their playable counter-part, so i'll keep my judgement withheld till we see the playable version of this chick, only then would i comment on how ugly or how beutiful she looks.

That'd be cool. Honestly I hate that there's a girl named Jade who wears green and has green moves. So I'd really hate if there's a girl named Skarlett who wears red and has red moves. It's just so dumb. Like. Your parents named you and you just happened to grow up and only wear that one stupid colour that you were named after and your superhuman abilities just happen to be that colour too. But who knows, maybe Jade is just her 'codename' like 'Sub-Zero' is for Ban Hi or whatever the fuck they named those guys.

Maybe NRS will add something to her, seems every girl has something unique other than attire. Jade and Kitana have the wavy hair and the gold and silver trim. Mileena has the teeth and the outstanding boots.
Maybe Skarlett (just using that as a placeholder name here even tho im conviced) should have a red ribbon or skarf/shoker. Soemthing to give her that extra "hey whats up".

It's really funny that people think this is Kira. For one, she would be way too young at that time, so that would rule her out storywise. Then, she's not even half-popular as a character in her own right. She was nothing more than a bland mix-up of Sonya and Kano in MKD. So it just so happens that she's going to be remade into a "slave girl" just for the background of this game? I can't see a single reason to make her playable, so why would they remodel her just to throw her in Kahn's Arena? They wouldn't, that's why. They would only remodel her to make her playable, and that ain't happenin.

Do we actually know how many years actually passed between MK 3 and MK Deception?

I'm not disputing your point but I dont think Kira would hardly be too young to enter the original MK. I mean Kano and Sonya hardly aged between MK3 and Armageddon (The only character that did was Sub Zero)

Besides that really isn't Kira anyway. Kira wasn't masked, I dont think Kira would wear something as tribal as that, Plus what would be the point in updating the model for something that didn't look like Kira.

MK:M to MK1 is approximately 2 years. (which puts MK4 about 8 years after MK1.

Cant be long at all (id guess a few weeks tops) between MK1 and mk2.

MK2 was just a diversion for the most part to keep attention away from Kahns ressurection of Sindel in Earthrealm. So he must have had it just about ready at the end of MK2.

theres enough time for Sonya and Jax to make a big deal to HQ. Sindel must have been braught back briefly after MK2. And Liu Kang and Kung Lao diddnt even have enough time to regroup the White Lotus across the globe before the portals opened.

After MK4, Quan Chi manages to escape from Scorpion and encounter Drahmin and Moloch. All that couldnt take long for him to escape. So I immagine it wouldnt be long, Id be surprised if it even got more than a year or two. Id suspect smaller than that.

Its supposed ot be long enough for Subzero to rebuild the entire Lin Kuei AND train frost aswell as Goro and Kitana have a lasting military experience with outworld.

thus MKDA and MKD happen in sequence one after the other. Couldnt take much time for Quan to open a portal and Shang to transfer souls. all that really happened was Raiden Grouped together earths forces and went to attack, then faced the DA by himself.

so given a rough overvoew, Im gonna guess about 8-9 Years between MK3 and MKD.

So take Kiras look of age, minus about 8 years, and theres your age she would be IF she was the lady in red. ANd given her body Structure and representation (not the most reliable assumption) Im gonna guess 24-25.

Which means shed be about 14-16 in MK1-3.

I dont think its Kira, at all.

So that can't be Kira because...

1. She's bland. Personal opinion buddy. I loved her character.

2. She is masked here and not in Deception. Really....? So because this woman is wearing a mask, a piece of clothing, it can't be Kira?
Ok....someone better tell Kung Lao and Raiden to keep their hats on then...

3. Kira wouldn't wear something like that. Neither would Princess Leia. Hence the slave girl reference. Plus, come on, which of the female characters in this game besides Mileena have their concept designs correct anyway?!?!

4. They wouldn't work on a model that isn't in the game. Monster anyone? One example, sure, but for background candy, yes, yes they would put one in the game. I have no doubt.

5. The timeline isn't right. I wasn't too sure about the timelines in the games. If Casselman's timeline is correct (and yeah, it does look like it is well defined and I would agree with it) then this would be the best arguement so far as to why this isn't Kira (thanks, Casselman, for the logical argument for timeline there). That throws her age in MKD in dispute. If she was 20s, then yeah, she is too young to be in here. 30s though? It becomes a possibility. A thin one, but a possibility nonetheless.

It's kind of underwhelming either way. The character design looks a tad boring and too typical of MK females honestly. It literally doesn't interest me at all. All I can say is I hope it isn't Skarlet, because in my fandom I always envisioned her as a legitimate assassin rather than a bathing suit wearing poster girl.

Oh well if it is I guess. It's just a name I suppose.
