1) She's Kira, with a mask on and pretending to be someone else

2) Skarlett - and wearing a mask to cover her skarlet letter; would be kewl if she's unlockable in the Krypt by buy SK AR LE TT

3) Someone's alt. costume

I'll agree it's not exact, but it's the same basic structure. If this symbol were on another character who had a unique color scheme, I'd nod and look the other way (from the symbol, that is). That's not the case, though. Not only does this girl have a symbol similar to Ermac's, but she's also a masked ninja who wears red AND is Kahn's prisoner. I'm not saying that the female Ermac theory is indisputable, but it's by no means a stretch either.

If this is Skarlett, I'd like to see her utilize a bladed umbrella like that girl that could freeze you in that old samarai fighting game. I think it would fit her look well and would be unique; be kewl to see her shove it in em and open it for a nifty fatality.

That look is more li mei then kira. You see the resemblance in her deception outfit?

Anyway, since I first noticed the rough similarity, I went back and checked MKD's Konquest mode, and Ermac's symbol is also on the Soul Stones in the Netherrealm. I believe it was mentioned that the Soul Stones were "used by sorcerers to recharge their magical energies", or some such thing.

She doesn't necessarily have to be a female Ermac, or part of him; she could just be a sorceress who happens to specialize in the kind of energies Ermac feeds on.There probably is a tie between them, but I wouldn't go so far as to say she's part of him or anything.

I'm not saying all Mileena fans are way too sensitive, because that would be generalizing (and generalizing is wrong, sir). This is getting ridiculous, though. Some of you are displaying cult-like behavior every time someone says something out-of-favor in regards to Mileena.

I only said that the connection was apparent. I'm not entirely convinced, but the idea of her being tied with Ermac is a possibility. However, as stated, this does not mean she is a female Ermac. This is all mere speculation, regardless.

Meh i gesse im the only person who wouldnt consider it blasphemy if emrac had a female alt. (Its been explained to me that ermac was created in male form but still there females in him... so why not. Hate all you want)

It wouldn't be blasphemy... However, though Ermac consists of several souls, he still only has one body. And that happens to be male. We have yet to see signs on that he can indeed change form or shape of any kind, and I don't think he can.

Edit: Oh, I just did the MKO Member Poll about who the red-clad woman might be, and it seems like more people believe it is Ermac over Kira. XD

whoever this red chick is..she'll be interesting because noone really knows her story..we pretty much know what happens to every other character in so far..so if she's playable or background character..still be interesting to know her story

I'd be fine with this whole thing if the design wasn't completely awful. It's a Kreate-a-Fighter.

Don't misunderstand... I'm not saying some of those are very LIKELY... Lust, for instance, is a little lame, ones like Coral and Carmine don't exactly fit the character... and Red is fairly... uninspired. I'm just saying they're names. And anything is possible.

And still... others work perfectly fine...

Ruby in particular jumps out at me.

Ruby being like... the name they already gave the red female ninja in the cartoon show. (Not saying that guarantees it, just saying it definately helps its chances.)

In any event, I feel this is probably the "Red female ninja" character, but I don't think her name HAS to be Skarlet. I don't care how much the fandom has called her that, there's still a very good chance they could change it. Not a guaranteed chance, but still, a good one.

You've already mentioned Coral and Lust, which are weird. But wtf at these! Burgundy sounds manly, and reminds me of Ron Burgundy.

Mauve sounds like an old woman's name, and is not appealing at all.

I really don't like the name Ruby. For some reason it seems really weak. I just can't imagine the announcer saying "RUBY" when you pick her. It would sound kinda goofy.

However, Skarlett I could see. Kinda sounds wicked.

I don't like the name Ruby either... but perhaps that's because I associate it with Ruby Rod from the movie "The Fifth Element", one of my all-time favourite movies. ^^

For some really, really stupid, nagging hunch a monkey on my back keeps telling me this character will become a cyborg over the course of the story.

Yes, there are at least 4 strong reasons that that thought is completely and utterly wrong. But I though I would post it simply on the basis that on the very off chance I'm right I can claim I said it first.

Just a really stupid hunch of mine, but despite plenty of reasons It's completely wrong it just keeps prodding at the back of my mind so I feel the need to bring it up.

Truthfully, I think "Cerise" sounds the most Mortal Kombaty of all those names, but I don't think that one really screams "Red!"

Though apparently it is a shade of red... hence my pulling it fro that list.
