The Good

Jade, Kitana and Sindel all look awesome to play as. I love Jade's kick and Dodge move and Sindel's fireballs and flip kicks look cool. I love how much Kitana uses her fans too.

I love Sindel's and Kitana's intro.

Jade' X-Ray looks painful.

The Bad

Sindel's scream looks and sounds awful and useless.

Sindel's hair doesn't animate very well. It's not as bad as Kitana's but it's still not impressive. I also don't like how short it is. I feel like Sindel should have more impressive hair than Kitana since it's one of her most notable features.

Sindel once again being used as a punching bag. I want to see some decent footage of her.

I thought the people at NRS said they read the forums and whatnot. People have been complaining about Kitana's hair since she was revealed (August?) and still it looks the same. I guess their statement is obvious: we read the forums, we just don't care what you have to say.

wow. Jade is stunning. The sound of her staff against flesh...PING! Also, her xray is now my new fav for the time being. I dont care for Jade's outfit; I'm awaiting her alternate and I will definitely rock her classic. She (and Sindel) is definitely part of my lineup.

I lurrrrrve Jade's X-ray. Very fitting for her.

The way Sindel floats in is great. Very graceful.

The echos of their voices in the cathedral was spot on. It sounds like they're really in a cathedral. The sound in the game is beyond great, I wish they could get the animation up to the same level.

the bad
Kitana's voice and phrase (which we've known about since the demo dropped) seems very, um, matronly. Something I would expect to hear a bitchy 40 year old mother of 3 say.

Sindel sounds like a man in her intro. I guess they were going for the middle-aged-woman thing, but I think they sorta missed it.

the ugly

Lazy lazy lazy. I can't believe that someone didn't sit down and look at this and say, "You know what, that looks really really bad. We have two choices, either get this mop looking more realistic, or make her hair shorter, like MK2, but we can't leave it like this." No, no one did that though, they just looked at it and said, "Eh, little sh*ts will still buy the game anyway. I'm gonna go play some basketball."

oh one other thing: I dont like the purple glow on her staff. Why is it there? and why purple?It looks like she is doing enhanced or powered up moves with her staff...but she's not. Just a PING! here and a PING! there. Weird. Just the naked staff would have sufficed. Like in MK3 and 6.

Hair, You guys are funny. Love the sounds of the projectiles, The fans sound especially sick. Love when Mileena's dagger misses and gets lodged in the ground. The Tag combos, Mmmmmm NICE. And Jade's X-Ray does look brutal, And that crotch shot isn't even the Ku De Gra. KAN'T FUCKING WAIT.

Haven't seen her hair spin move yet, assuming it's made it onto the cutting room floor? That's a terrible shame if so. I always associated classic Sindel quite heavily with her hair moves.

Well, Sindel didn't really get to do much of anything except get beat up in this vid. She just fired some projectiles and threw a few whiffed screams.

As for me though, I would be perfectly happy with no "hair moves." S*** was just goofy MK3 retardedness. Besides, how are they going to animate that? Especially knowing their track record with hair. If she does have it, I bet it looks like garbage.

They did seem to show the majority of her moves in the trailer, mind - high/low fireball, flight, downward fireball, scream, a cartwheel kick of some sort. I'm inclined to think the hair's been cut out. Though I agree it may look a little goofy and poorly animated in this iteration, for the sake of nostalgia and completeness, taking into account the extent they've gone with other characters - it's still a shame it's likely been cut, for me at least.

If they wanted to give her hair moves, they should have made her hair long. The way it is would just make the move look nonsensical. What, she makes her hair grow to attack you? I really really believe they should have switched her hair with kitana's. Then they would have been perfect. Edit, I just looked here, and unless they've changed something since the demo, the leaked info says Sindel does have the hair-whip. Let's see, she also has high fireball (air also) low fireball jump uppercut (which may just be her back triangle move) cartwheel kick and scream

Agreed. I wish they would have shown the pelvis breaking or something, but just showing the muscle layer doesn't really do anything for me, and you know they won't do it right and show genitals being crunched.

Finally some proper Jade gameplay footage! A new Jade thread is underway...

It looks like Sindel will have a Sagat-esque zoning game with her projectiles, I like that she's retained her air fireball as well. I'm quite disapointed with her scream as it reminded me of Sonya's kiss, slow and short range. I'm kinda hoping that it's not the scream though, I can't see why they would change it so dramatically.

Finally we get some footage of these awesome girls.

Jade looks fast, brutal and classic. Her X-ray is one of my faves so far, love how she looks back over her shoulder during the crotch shot. Dodging shadows has a nice effect, her Nitro Kick has a nice spin animation which differs it from J Cage's similar move but like others have said I do wish her staff didn't give off that purple glow. She's a 9/10 from me.

Sindel has the best intro so far, very elegent the way she glides into battle. I hated her look to start with but in gameplay footage I find it suiting her nicely. The ground and air Star Screamers look fast and effective but her Scream looks (like Sonya's dust) hard to connect with. Hope that won't be the case in the final build. Love her acrobatic combo on Jade.

I think the staff needs the purple glow, cuz if it's just a metal pipe, that takes the magic away from it. And it's very obviously a magical staff considering how it just extends from that little bar in her hand.

I know the other characters have sai and fans and ground saws that appear out of nowhere too, but those are smaller and could plausibly be hidden on them (sort of), a staff can't really be hidden.
