There is probably an explanation to this that I have missed, but I am genuinely confused about Sub Zero's bio. I thought young Sube Zero was good and the older one was evil, before being killed by Scorpion. But the bio sais he was murdered and 'ressurected', so surely this is Noob Saibot?
Or is this young Sub Zero evil? Can someone help me out here.

It's been a bit of a debate and I could give you my opinion but it's certainly not concrete fact. Your best bet is to check out the discussion on the "Sub-Zero is PURE EVIL" and the "Sub-Zero's Character History" threads. I'd link them but for some reason I always jack up the HTML when linking to this site.

SCORPION:
I love how the shoulder pads resemble scorpions and I really like his forearm bracers. I don't care for the lighting bolt-shaped design coming down the yellow garment, but I love the design within the black area at the center of his chest, The mask is badass too. Love him overall.

SUB-ZERO:
I like his design, although I miss the frosty forearms. The rest of his costume looks very sleek and ninja-like though, as it should.

SHAO KAHN:
To me, he looks the same as he always has. I don't seee this as a character that needs a major costume change, but I would not be opposed to adding more intricate details to him, like extra spikes on his belt, helmet or chest cross piece. I didn't expect any big changes with him but I do think he could use a little polish.

RAIDEN:
More of the same. Not overly impressed, not disappointed. It looks closest to his MK1 and MK2 days which is probably what they were going for anyways. It's nice to see a new render though! :)

MILEENA:
Evil slutty hot. No complaints!
I'd maybe add some studs or tiny spikes on the bicept bands and maybe a choker, if it would be visible.

The stages look awesome too. I wouldn't rule out a stage fatality on the bell tower. I'd bet either the original stage fatality is in or something to do with all those gears using the xray bone crushing abilities of the game ;)

grr... people... subzero #1 DID NOT HAVE FROSTY ARMS! HIS YOUNGER BROTHER DID!!!! STOP BITCHING ABOUT IT!

I've always been a fan of Shao Kahn and to me this new look makes him look like a legitimate competitor now, can't wait to destroy people with him I hope his taunting is back too.

In the Game Informer that featured MK9, there is a shot of Sub Zero Freezing Reptile in Kahns Arena and you can see Kahn sitting in the throne. Its the same as the render, And Jax007 is right, they aren't pants. Just armor.

Can be clearly seen in the image.

I think the trailer with Kahn and Raiden going at each other was just an early render for teasing and they just used the MKvDC model.

Something similar to that Mileena vs Baraka short they did for MKD. Not an actual in game cut scene. Just promo shit.

Whether it was Sub-Zero or his younger brother also named Sub-Zero or his older brother or grandpa also named Sub-Zero, I liked them as a design element. Who cares which version had it, Sub-Zero conjures ice with his hands... frosty arms seems fitting for ANY version of him.

Agreed. I liked the idea of playing as Shao Kahn in MKA but he had crap for moves and very little (if any) combos. This just made me want to play as him and kick some serious ass! If they do him well, I might even make him one of my more frequently used characters.

The character bios are pretty awful.

However,I think these are just placeholders written by some random schmuck for the sole purpose of introducing (in a hamfisted and badly-written way) the gist of a character to the people who are completely new to the series. You know,what with this being a reboot and trying to appeal to all the newfags who never played the originals and all.

Notice how generic they are. No significant plot points outside of the ones we already knew are mentioned. And that makes sense. Can't have them spoiling anything,can we? As far as I remember,the online bios for MKDA and MKD were pretty much like that too.

I'm also willing to bet that the bios in the actual game will be nothing like these. These don't even sound like anything Vogel would write. We've all seen him do amazing fucking things in MKDA and Deception when he had time and creative control on his side. And this time he had all the time in the world. I'm sure he'll deliver.

Yeah this really doesn't seem to fit Vogel's style so to speak. I really hope these are just placeholders, or a refresher of what happened in the previous games. They are over a decade old, for most people (beside the ones who visit this site and others like it) that warrents a memory freshening.
Edit: And this may be just me reading into things too much but... In the Scorpion's lair picture, why is only that one skull on the ground have it's eyes lit up?

Shao Kahn looks like a beast in that render. I can't remember the last time he looked that genuinely intimidating. Seriously hoping they drop the current in-game look with the ridiculous curvy shoulder pads.

SubZero(MK1) was killed. This is SubZero(MK2), because everyone thought SubZero(MK1) was dead they think he was resurrected.

SubZero(MK1) then turns to be Noob Saibot.

At least that's my understanding of it.

Although the way the bio is written it's somewhat confusing making it sound like this is subzero(MK1) returning from being Noob Saibot.

My guess is that it's more of an overview rather than an actual bio of that particular character.

Much more speculation in the Sub-Zero is PURE EVIL! thread.

Also taking into account the "twist" that's being introduced it may change things even more.

Either way things are getting interesting.

So being curious, I decided to muck around with the official site's URL, replacing the names in the url bar (ex: sub-zero) with random characters. Every one I've seen leads to a "The requested resource was not found" page, including known folk like Cyrax, Sektor and Reptile...unless I enter

Damn it. They must have changed something, doesn't work for me anymore either.

Still, it's something. Wouldn't be surprised if The Kangster was the next person unveiled. Was hoping for Sonya or Baraka, and was expecting Shang, but Liu's one of those I'm more than a little curious about.

Could be a subtle hint about the person to be revealed this week. The MK team is notorious for that.
