I think it's Kitana not only because the sillouette looks like a woman to me, but if you look at the two left pictures (Scorpion and Sub-Zero), they are rivals. The right two (Shao Kahn and Raiden) are pretty much rivals too. There is only one rival of Mileena that could fit that sillouette. Dont think Baraka would fit,

I am fuckn disgusted wid Kahns render! It makes me want to cry!! I mean he looked like a don in the first cinematic trailer, like the old Kahn did! But this! THIS is a flippin shambles!!!

Kahn looks bad ass as hell to me. I don't get why people are complaining that he's smaller I mean he's still massive, look at his fucking chest and torso he's huge. And even if they did decide to scale Kahn down maybe that means he will be faster and they could speed up his game play? I would be so down with that it would make him way more dangerous/difficult if they did that.

Yeah this new look gives him a more serious tone and by that I mean I never took him serious because he looked like he was wearing a speedo all the time and he was this badass emperor and it just didnt look right hahaha.

Its amazing what pants can do for somebody.........

I really hope they make Kahn as fast as the other fighters to play with.

Well I for one don't have any complaints about the renders. They all look amazing to me. Though I would agree that Khan looks a bit weaker compared to his old self, it does make sense since he's a playable kharacter.

Khan- I think his attire is warrior like and deadly. His sleeker look gives me the impression that he would be a smoother fighter to play as instead of bulky and stiff like in previous games.

Raiden- FINALLY! Now THAT is what our thunder god should look like! They gave him his look from MK2-MK4 and it looks soooo fuckin sick for this game. Plus no cape? Yep nailed it

Scorpion- yeah, yeah, he's my fav and we've all seen him a gazillion times, but those glowing white eyes just take the cake for me in this one!

Subby- I love how they put "the resurrected" for him because that just made his render look fresh when I looked at it. U know? Like "damn that's the original Sub-Zero and he's back!" He looks awesome, and the cold mist from his hand makes his render complete. I'm very pleased.

Mileena- seriously, her face alone just screams MILEENA! Really reminds of her debut in MK2.

This fuckin game is gonna be amazzzzzzzing!

Am I really the only one who thinks that the written bios/stories are a bit too corny and exaggerated?

I like what we've gotten, but, I can't help but feel that the writing in those pieces is a bit, I don't know, childish? It just doesn't feel that believable imo (ocean of blood??? broken spirits??? piles of blood-soaked bodies??? kindly Kitana??? etc). Kind of corny.

I guess it's fine if its a writing that is actually being told to us by a source like, say, Johnny Cage or an actual team member talking about the characters in a FUN way.

But, if it's actually supposed to be official bios from an official narrator/source from within the game, it sounds kind of silly.

Anyway, amazing update. I am absolutely thrilled to see all the wicked interactivity that we will be getting and all the special and specific character themes that everyone is going to have. Can't wait to see more.

I absolutely love the characters titles (Man-eater, Revenge, The Destroyer, etc) and the designs colors around them (Mileena's pink thing, Rayden's electricity, etc).

After posting my thoughts, I read this. Exactly man. That's what I was getting at.

I'm going to give my opinions about the costumes, although alternate costumes have not been revealed yet.

SCORPION:
I love how the shoulder pads resemble scorpions and I really like his forearm bracers. I don't care for the lighting bolt-shaped design coming down the yellow garment, but I love the design within the black area at the center of his chest, The mask is badass too. Love him overall.

SUB-ZERO:
I like his design, although I miss the frosty forearms. The rest of his costume looks very sleek and ninja-like though, as it should.

SHAO KAHN:
To me, he looks the same as he always has. I don't seee this as a character that needs a major costume change, but I would not be opposed to adding more intricate details to him, like extra spikes on his belt, helmet or chest cross piece. I didn't expect any big changes with him but I do think he could use a little polish.

RAIDEN:
More of the same. Not overly impressed, not disappointed. It looks closest to his MK1 and MK2 days which is probably what they were going for anyways. It's nice to see a new render though! :)

MILEENA:
Evil slutty hot. No complaints!
I'd maybe add some studs or tiny spikes on the bicept bands and maybe a choker, if it would be visible.


The stages look awesome too. I wouldn't rule out a stage fatality on the bell tower. I'd bet either the original stage fatality is in or something to do with all those gears using the xray bone crushing abilities of the game ;)

All good points about that 6th character being Kitana, but there is one thing that doesn't make sence. - Since she has already been confirmed, why would they not show her? Whats the big secret? The first character that came to mind for me was Shang from MK3. @ Vomit That is a possibility, however Cage did not get a total make over (as far as I can tell). They might have modified his hair but other than that he is exactly the same. I guess its a wait and see.

Shao Kahn is not wearing pants, we've seen his artwork in magazines already. The fade to black done on the renders kinda gives the impression of pants, but he has bare legs with scaled plating on the sides.

But, Im not feeling his look, he lost all of his badassness in the 3D games.

Kahn's design is great. He's dropped that Chippendale's dancer shit and now he looks like real grand poohbah.

It;s funny though, if you lookeed at that render and didn't know who Shao Kahn was, wouldn't you think he was a good guy? He has that "old, wise commander" vibe going on.

Also you gotta love how no matter what walk of life they're from, everybody in this game is a mass murderer.

Lords, you're right! I took another hard look at the render, and it indeed looks like he is still having his legs bare, but armoured with those scale-plates.

Heh, well there you go...

I was pretty much disgusted with the bios. Some of the story elements were pretty cool, but the way they are presented? A previous poster said it looked like some sort of fanfic, and he was right. Terms like "gaping guts" and "blood soaked bodies" just don't fit in bios for me...nothing like that was in any of the previous bios in the previous games. And the writing style is very juvenile. It's as if they are trying to make up for MKvsDC by making a point to mention in EVERYONE'S bio so far that "there's blood! Blood blood blood blood guts blood!!11!!! did wE mention BLooOD!?!111"

The stories are making every character, no matter alignment, out to be a bloodthirsty savage instead of skilled warriors with their own agendas. It's taking away a part of individuality of the characters themselves. Sure, finishing foes is part of what they do, but it's not ALL that they do.

I'm a little worried about how the rest of the characters are going to turn out story-wise, and how the game will pan out in terms of atmosphere.

I'M SURE IN MK4, REIKO'S ENDING MADE IT CLEAR THAT REIKO IS ACTUALLY KHAN???? I MIGHT BE MISTAKEN, HAVEN'T PLAYED IT IN AGES!!! YOU KNOW WHAT, COME TO THINK OF IT........ OUTWORLD ISN'T ONE OF THE Cleanest places in all of the realms. He might have picked up a “slow puncture” from one of the emperors many lo0se whores. And it is also the reason for losing to general RAAM (cant remember his actual name), because he is getting weaker by the day. i'm just kidding

I agree with the weak bio writing but luckily, I've never played MK for the story.
