That's why I never really used him. He was just too all over the place. I thought he looked awesome in MK:SM though. I hate what they've done with his face in this game.

Reptile is a character where I dont mind some change, but I love his Ninja form above all. Theres just something about the classic ninjas tha tbring out my inner fanboy.

MK1, 2 and 3 were awsome. MK4 was a new twist that I really liked, made him look more primal. MKDA was Horrible. Although I understand that they wqere de-evolving him kind of, it was the next logical step. Technecally Onaga was another form for reptile. His body being taken over and twisted was a great turn in the story. I miss having him around but it is interesting none the less.

MKSM and MKA were where I liked him the most other than MK1-3. He was great, sort of a mix between all the 3 forms.

Now MK2011 has this. I feel that this costume is taking flavour from all of them. The Ninja mask, the armor reminds me of MKDA primary/alternate. The face and texture of skin are like MK4 meets MKSM.

This Reptile is what I have been calling "The Reptile for all Reptile fans"

Reptile changing is..different, but I enjoy it USUALLY!!!
I didn't care for the FULL ON LIZARD look.
I like him being humanoid with scales and lizard eyes and claws, but full on "stand up alligator" is kinda ugly looking.

This look for the NEW MK I like because it gives him the humanoid look while giving him some reptilian features. This would be a good idea if the decide to use Khameleon and/or Chameleon in the future.

I only like Reptile from MK1/2/Trilogy. I like using him as his human Ninja form only. later titles made him look too reptilian where he doesn't really fit, I mean it's a huge change from the Human Ninja look.

Reptile was bland and silly until MKDA IMO. It really set him apart as a character from the other "ninjas" and I think they only reason they changed it was because people complained about it so much.

I wish that was one instance where they ignored the fans.

My favorite has been MK4 reptile. They should keep that look / face / body style but with the custom ninja outfit, but keep his face exactly as it was in MK4.

You should be thankful. At least they're doing something with him everytime. Do you have any idea how boring when they recycle the same shit over and over again?

I liked him better as a ninja in green with a bit of a secret to him, I think he looks pretty good in this version, much better than the crazy stuff they had been doing.

I thought the entire de-evolution thing was stupid. MK4 Reptile was cool cause he was good ol reppy without being a ninja.

I think the ideal balance is MK:SM reptile... which seems to be pretty much the look they are going for in MK9.

Hated DA reptile. Although his crab style combined with his aligator look was hilarious

I understood and followed his deevolution storyline, however, MK:SM Reptile is my favourite version. Full blown lizard in MK:DA was too ridiculous for me.

I like reptile looking human with minor reptelian features.

I like the "ninja" Reptile, but the Deadly Alliance version is the best Imo. Not only does it make him different, but it defines his actual character.

If alternate costumes are in this game, I hope to see both forms.

what i do not get is why people want reptile to be another boring, bland copy of many other "ninjas". though i did not like his tail in mk:da, at least he was becoming his own character rather than just another boring ninja color. for all the crying about people love the mk: sm look... the only real difference between that look and the new mk9 look is he had cloth wraps on his face and now he has half a ninja mask. what is the big deal? i mean to each their own opinion, not everyone is going to agree, but i would hope we all can agree the griping over reptile's current look is very, very silly because obviously he is going to have a 2nd, if not 3rd, look to him in the game.

At First I kind of thought the full on lizard thing was dumb but it grew on me. However I do think that his new costume is by far the best we have ever seen for him. It's a combination of the ninja look and the lizard one.

And I think he had one of the coolest stories in MK:DA. The fact that he was the dragon king is just awesome in my opinion.

They redesign most of the characters every time a new game comes out.
The only difference being, Reptile is the stupidest of the sisterhood of travelling colour swaps.

I still think his new look is a bit strange, but it's still the best appearance he's had to date.

I haven't liked Reptile in any of his incarnations before now. I hated that he was a palette swap in MK3, I hated his semi-gimp mask in MK4, I hated his godzilla tail and lobotomized facial expression in MKDA, and I hated that he stole Ermac's bandages in MKSM.

I love this new look. It's weird, and I can't really say why, but I totally dig it.

MK4 body type with MKSM costume would fucking own.

MK9 is close enough to this so i'm cool.

Reptile has not actually been through many changes.

Here's what some people don't really get:

The MK4 look, the Shaolin Monks/Armageddon look, and the MK9 look are ALL THE SAME THING. That's his NATURAL form. He's wearing different clothes yes, but that's not really what we're talking about, is it? We're talking about how lizard-y he is.

His form in MK1 thru 3? That's a disguise. He doesn't actually have skin. He always had scales. He was either wearing fake skin like Scorpion or using camo-powers to turn his scales flesh-colored. You can see his true form on his face every time he acid spits or does his fatalities or in his endings.

The only time he ACTUALLY had a different form was when he "devolved" in Deadly Alliance. (Unless you count him being Onaga's body in Deception).

So his mind IS made up. The Reptile you see now is what he's always been meant to look like, clothing notwithstanding.

Now if you do want to talk about clothing...I do not like this chest armor instead of a shirt. The ninja hood does not look good connected to nothing. Where did he get a ski mask in Outworld, y'know? Shoulda used the wraps again instead. That look that said a combination of "I put this outfit together from scraps of cloth I found lying around" and "I'm trying to hide my appearance under bandages" suited the character better.

I'm in the minority who loved his MK:DA lizardman form more than anything else. It well and truly set him apart from the technicolor dreamcoat which the other ninjas compose. Though I thought his MK:SM form was great, only reason was that game took place during MKII, where he should have been humanoid/ninja, but was disappointed they brought it back for MKA.

Current outfit looks good though, better representation of the MKII-3 days than the MKSM outfit.

well i agree with a lot of what you said but reptile stealing ermac's cloth wraps for his head for mk:sm is really not that the end, be all of awesomeness in the universe. i mean come on folks it is a mask. a mask. say it again, a mask. does it really matter if his mouth is showing or if its a ninja mask with no hood? i would rather focus on whether reptile plays well and how cool his moves look now and the possibilities for combos...

all this over a mask...

I love his new look, this might be the best yet in my oppinion. Other than that and the original, I thought the MK4 look worked and even his alt in MK4; anyone remember that? The ninja style outfit but you could see the reptilian eyes?

Yeah that one. I guess they could've personalized his mask, though, instea of usin' Scorpions style
