the way i see it:
famous guest characters = more publicity = more people buying/playing the game = more successful franchise = more great games in the future.

so it's win win.

If this actually pans out. it will be a nice Halloween edtion. if you don't like the characters then don't buy them. it's as simple as that.

They certainly fit better than Star Wars characters in Soul Calibur.

Heck, the fit better than Kratos does in this game. They wouldn't have to use the lame "Oh I fell through a portal in my world and ended up in yours, but that portal will only be here for this one game and will never get mentioned again" plot that a lot of crossover characters use, they could just be there.

I'd rather have freddy than Kratos (I have PS3) I do not like kratos in this game I played as kratos two or three times and thats about it. and you know what I would much rather play as motaro or rain hell I would have took freakin moloch over kratos... I still want to play as goro and shao kahn

What does that matter? Nobody said they'd be exclusive and even if they were who cares if they've been in a game on 360 or ps3 before? WB owns the rights and wants to make money of not only this game (add them to appeal to slasher fans) and their other properties (add them and they'll generate $ in dlc payments)
