That would make even less sense than having Kratos.
But more sense than putting a War Pig (COD soldier, GearsofWar soldier) in MK
O_o?

Sure, let's flesh out more gameplay options and special moves for characters who will never be in an MK game ever again. It was so brilliant the first time.
Let's not waste any more development time on guest characters. We have 64 MK characters. Fucking use one.

Hsu Hao is literally the greatest character in modern fiction.

Have you seen Friday the 13th 6 through 10?
I don't believe most of the remaining MK characters are crap, nor am I endorsing Meat or Khameleon. I don't really need to. All I need is one: one good MK character who isn't already in the game to justify NOT having Freddy or Jason. Because that character actually has a future in the series, and enhancements s/he earns in this game will development MK's ongoing legacy, both as a story and as a fighting game. If Freddy or Jason make the cut, I guarantee you we will never see those fuckers again after MK2011.
Don't get me wrong: I love love LOVE the Nightmare Franchise (though Jason can eat a bag of shit for all I care). But even in the worse case scenario, I am less offended by Zebron than I am by "Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child".

Now that right there is a menacing figure, lol.
And seriously, enough with the bastardization of Mortal Kombat. MKvDC was bad enough, then we got Kratos, and now there's potential for THIS?!?!?
You're supposed to WANT my money, WB/NRS.

I would honestly take Hsu Hao, Mokap, Meat, Darrius, Jarek, Kobra, and Chameleon over Freddy or Jason.
I hope this is stupid rumor.
Simply because such thing will be just out of nowhere. WB wnats money that much? OK why not to put other things they own in the MK, just because they can you know.
Though it would be hard to call this game "Mortal Kombat", it will more like "everyone versus everything". Glorified Mugen on the Unreal engine.
I don't need this shit. If they want to create something like crazy crossover, let them create a whole new IP for this. Not use MK for putting in different "guests".
I hope all this is just some crazy rumor. MKvsDC was bad and stupid enough, but it was a standalone game. This have possibility to be even worse.

I'd be in favor of it, if just to see how Freddy's abilities would translate to a fighting game.

I think WB will sacrifice your $ for 1,000+casuals $.
This is the unfortunate downside of a BIg $ company backing a franchise and giving them full support. They will milk it for all its worth

How is that unfortunate? I'm pretty sure that the more money WB can get from MK, the more likely they are to drop more product.
Poor us, we'll be stuck with more of a thing we like.
Freddy based on Robert Englund would be a perfect Halloween DLC character. I would support that. It is not like the character is forced upon you by being on the disc. However, Freddy based on the recent disgrace is a no, just no. I feel bad the character Robert worked hard to establish in horror movie history was made a joke in the recent remake.

jackie was good as freddy but the script and michael bay is what made the film suck big time. i agree no one can touch robert englunds freddy but jackie was good

I should have clarified in my post that I do not blame Jackie so much as the dreadful Michael Bay. It is a problem with many current remakes, or just current movies in general. The availability of digital effects and high-definition has taken away the darker, gritty feel of horror movies to the point that it is difficult to be scared by them. The original Elm Street is still scary to this day, despite the low budget. I am a big fan of Jackie in Watchmen, and he did what he could with what was given to him in the Elm Street remake, but nothing can match the Englund as Freddy.

As a fan of both franchises, I had to add my two cents. I love the idea of it and an Elm Street stage or Crystal Lake stage would be neat. Then again, I love the God of War games and Kratos, but he just doesn't *feel* right to me in MK. He's really heavy. I don't want to be playing Jason the Tank either.
I'd much rather have more MK characters, but I'm not totally opposed to this. Yet.

i also wanna mention that im not against ideas like cross over kharachters but i just hope wb dosent force nrs to make mk a gorey version of mvc. i sent boon my isaac clark idea before mk came out because imo he fits the best as a guest charachter. i know jeebus mentioned ash wich i totaly agree with. i feel that if this jason/freddy rumor is true to me its more of a money grab for WB. i dont blame nrs but wb seems to be like the old ea now by milking a franchise to death
