So, there was a bit of a debate back before the game came out, and it even continued a bit after that...

This would be whether Kahn killed Blaze, or Taven killed Blaze, fueled the rest of the warriors, and then Kahn went apeshit.

Well it turns out Kahn killed Blaze.

"@domcianciolo At the start of MK9's story, has Kahn killed Blaze?"

"@wayofwarrior1 Yes."


The question is finally answered, leaving me a little dissapointed, (and wrong) and leaving many others (including the all-knowing Razor) Right (yet again)

There you have it.

My 2 cents: I wish they would've just kept MKA's ending canon, not EVERYTHING except Taven killing Blaze

Well, it would make sense and I am positive this was answered a long time ago on who won Armageddon.

Kahn wouldn't have been that powerful if he didn't win Armageddon.

And I believe during the opening video, you see Taven's body laying dead at the very top of the pyramid as well.

2 things

1:Talked about, but never officially answered to my knowledge

2: You are right, but that still goes with the "Taven killed Blaze, fueled all the other fighters, Kahn got WAAY too powerful and went apeshit (killed Taven, too)

I just rewatched the intro and I couldn't find Taven (the last body I saw before the fight was Shang Tsung).

This is rather disappointing to hear, and it makes what little story Armageddon had completely worthless. Taven may as well remain in stasis in this timeline.sad

I still think that Taven was the one who killed Blaze and in hope all would be fixed, but It was said that the Dragon King's men tainted him and all the other fighters became over powered wiping each other out. For all we know Taven was alive and watched in utter disbelief on what happened.

I was kind of surprised when I learned that Shao Kahn was at the top of the Pyramid and not Taven. Hey, I got a theory for why the Elder Gods don't help Raiden when he was getting beat up by Shao Kahn on the Pyramid:

*Raiden getting the **** beat out of him by Shao Kahn.*

*Meanwhile in....wherever the EGs live in.*

Taven: "....I just don't understand, why did the kombatants get their powers amplified?"

EG #1: "Beats us, wanna go for a cup o' tea in the Nexus?"

Taven: "But, we should really discuss a possible solution to this problem."

EG #2: "Ok, as soon as we get our tea."

Taven: *Annoyed* "You guys do know that your very existance is at stake here, right? Shao Kahn seems unbelieveably powerful, more so than you guys, I dare say."

EGs: >_> O.o O_O o_o
EG #3: "Anyone got an idea?"

EG #2: "Oh, Taven! Kill Shao Kahn!!"

*Back at the Pyramid of Argus*

Raiden: "He must win!"

Taven: *Breathing heavily* "Finally, I made it up this damn pyramid. Huh, what's Raiden doing?! OH FFFFUUUUUU-"

*Going back in time!*
