I love the look of him, it's a classic look of blue and silver on him. The mask will change, I can see them changing it since it's pretty much a placeholder right now. And instead of his frozen arms I like the ice steam flowing from his palms.

It's just a little boring. Sub-Zero has always been the one that advanced his appearance, and Scorpion was always the boring one in the yellow suit. We had MK3 to give us unmasked Sub-Zero, MK:DA to give us the unmasked one again and frozen arms. MKD gave us the Shredder look (and the ponytail alt). This feels like a regression for him really. I prefer "classic" costumes to be alts, not the main costume.

Personally I doubt that and I hpe it will stay... But we have to wait till the official and final renders will be shown of them.

Don't see anything wrong with it. It's simple and clean.

It's not terrible by any means. But it is depressing. Sub-Zero is just as popular as Scorpion and should have better articles of clothing added as flare. His MKDA Alt/Primary looks are still my favorites of his out of any game. MKD gets credit to. But I just feel he could be tweaked more.

Agreed, the classic look is great! Seeing that we are going back to MK'S roots lets stick to the original type costumes! Leave out the frozen arms and Shredder helmet Imo. This is the original Sub-Zero FROM MK1 not his brother.

With so long until the release I doubt they'll be spoiling the fans with images and renders like they've done before. Mainly because the games would take about a year to come out, this one isn't coming out for about a year. Give a few months before you see any final finished renders and characters. Even the first trailer was in pre-alpha stage and the E3 demo was much better quality.

We don't know for sure since this ties into all 3 games. Original Sub-Zero was in MK1 & His brother debuted in MK2. So you don't know for sure what version were seeing right now.

So just out of interest sake, how will this MK play, will you start out with MK1 Subby and then move on to his brother as the story unfolds, if they don’t change it? Because I'm sure Raiden going back to the past can't change everything.

Sub-Zero's outfit isn't bad, but it's not my favorite. I think this is just meant to be a revamped version of his classic look. Considering the story, it could explain why he doesn't have the more advanced costumes. It would be nice to see his other costume (if they have alternate costumes in the game) be something distinct from his primary.

He needs something on his upper arms, looks way too bland. That would excite me a little more. Other than that he just needs alittle better of a mask.

Well i think this costume looks great ! I really like the shoulder pads on it and i hope they do change the mask because we have already had it and i want something new, put i doubt they will change it.

To all people who dislike the Sub-Zero costume, never fear, i want you to look close on the image link and if you look closely, there is no scar on either eye! You can also see that there is no scar on different videos such as the E3 Demo on the character select menu.

So that in mind, there is always the possiblity that since they are going back to MK1 - 3 they could include the older evil original brother as seen before and also the younger brother we have seen recently in the previous MK games.

I would really love to see this in the game and for people that are doubting it, Ed Boon said "There will be some suprises".

If this game is an opportunity to really smooth out the past and establish it in the best light, it seems like an utter waste to go back to defining things by the technological restrictions of the early nineties.

Granted, Scorpion's off getting an arachni-hellface makeover and that's nice enough within it's own context, but Sub-Zero's gone back to looking fundamentally like the colour swap character. For the most part, the designs in Deadly Alliance-up have been pretty good, even the "ninja" suit, which made more of an effort to get away from the parallel design.

Scorpion's the only japanese ninja. His designs in Deadly Alliance (and Deception) were a great direction to go for that character in allowing him to both be embellished in an individualized direction, whilst also taking ownership of the "ninja" look. Sub-Zero (and the Lin Kuei) deserved to get the individuality they've lacked for so long. Even token gestures like what we've already seen.

New look feels like a regression.

In MK 1-2 it was the evil and older brother, then in MK 3 the younger brother (Scarface) gets introduced with the scar already on his face, and the only information on that is he betrayed the Lin-Quay and was marked with the 'Mark of Death' which means that the Lin-Quay want him dead.

So my point is still valid.

(PSST! MKII was the younger Sub-Zero, as well. Who probably got his scar from some sort of nasty fighting, because usually when people mark you for death, they do it metaphorically, rather than squandering the opportunity to kill you while they're holding you down to scratch your eye...)

actually young sub zero gets his scar during mk 2 presumably from kung lao if u played shaolin monks but then again it wasnt canon so who knows?

Fact: Younger Sub-Zero was the ninja from MK2. He has the eye scar in MK3. This game covers the MK1-3 era, where Sub-Zero (either version) did not have a scar for 2 out of three games. It makes sense then that younger Sub-Zero and older Sub-Zero would both not have scars, thus it is impossible to determine which Sub-Zero it is we're looking at until further confirmation.

And Sub-Zero looks fine. I've missed his more streamlined MK4-esque look for some time. Why would a stealthy ninja wear such gaudy outfits (like what Scorpion is wearing); you'd think practicality would be more of a priority.

And, yeah, check out how amazing Sub-Zero looks on the EGM cover. While MK:DA's outfit with the Dragon Medallion is my favorite, I see no problems with this. Except I am a huge fan of the scar.

Scars are badass and sexy and Sub-Zero's eye scar was no exception. You know Sareena took one look at the scar and began to salivate. Or she could've just been hungry; I don't know.

I agree. Subzero's new costume just looks way too boring. I wish we would of had something totally unexpected,like the Sub-Zero in Deception.Which was my favorite costume.Now he just looks way too simple with a design that just looks like it was not that thought out.I mean honestly,that design couldn't of taken them that long to come up with lol.Its too simple and boring.
