I wish this would have been Kitana's alternate (or primary) with obvious modifications (blue color, more royal stuff around her, etc)....but we already have people screaming about how she stole Mileena's sleeves in her alt, Jade's cloth in both, so, Tanya's dress would just add another complain (but it would still make her costume great).

I did notice this lady and I did like her design. Sure, its still a generic half naked chick. It obviously needs touch ups and modifications to look more presentable and interesting, however, despite that, it already does look interesting enough to capture my attention.

It's a shame that a simple and generic background character got a better costume than some of the actual main characters.

That look is already more interesting and polished than the famous Skarlett (who's generic "almost naked" look doesn't impress at all).

As cool as she looks, I think Tanya already pulls off this style and she can easily borrow the straps concept for an alternate. The dress should be a feature implemented for Sindel (it would fit her the best) and even Kitana or Jade or Mileena.

Have at least 1 Edenian with a dress like that. Tanya's is super awesome but noticeably different.

This Lady in Purple lacks more than just "a storyline".
Just because she's "from the MK2 era" doesn't make her awesome.

IDK, I never could get behind Kenshi for some reason. I'm sure they'll make him cool in this one, I mean, he can't be clumsier or worse looking than he was in DA or D, so I won't rule out the possibility that I'll like him. After all, Kano is my new favorite male character, something I never would have expected, but I just never liked Kenshi. Maybe just because when you compare samurai for samurai, Mitsurugi is about 10,000 times cooler, Kenshi reminds me of some white trash kid who bought a "authentic samurai sword" (made in taiwan) at a flea market and carries it around the trailer park with him... who also happens to be blind.

BTW, how are you holding up under the atrocity NRS has committed upon Shang? He's just ruined for me, but you're a more hardcore fan than I am.

I still don't see what is good about Kenshi. I can accept Bezou's explanation of "I just think he's cool," but other than that, I don't see any objective reason that people like him.

What does Lady in Purple lack? Moves? Easily added. Some more "busyness" to her outfit? They tried that with Scorpion and it didn't really work. Simple is better. I think she looks fine as is. A voice, well of course, but, like moves, all characters have a voice. Shouldn't be too hard to give to her. Really all she needs is a good story and good gameplay, and she'll be set as one of the best MK characters of all time, OF ALL TIME. And I'll be remembered as her very first fan.

And yes, anything from the MK2 era or before is awesome. Anything after that is not necessarily crap, but crappiness is highly likely.

No, the Slave Girl is another new character. She is named Sophie and knows all the kung fus.

Lady in Purple is either:
1) Li Mei, after changing her body. (NOTE: She still loves purple)
or
2) Tanya, after changing her robes. (NOTE: Her alternate costume in MK4 was purple)
or
3) Sareena, people wanted her in.
or
4) A random woman.

You doubters keep doubtin', but when Lady in Purple drops as DLC and she's the most awesome thing MK has ever seen, I'm gonna point you back to this thread and anyone who didn't believe in her won't be allowed into the fan club. You can all sulk with your boring old Kenshi.

I like the look. Give her some cool moves and I'd be cool with her being in the game as DLC. I love how people have determined a pecking order for characters that aren't even playable, as if Kenshi is automatically good, Lady in Red automatically sucks etc. Really, keep it up lol.

I'd give her a shot, regardless of whether she's an old character like Li Mei or Sareena or if she's totally new. I know, new characters seem to make people's heads explode now (perhaps with good reason, as the recent newbies have been much more hit or miss), but I really don't want five more games of just the Trilogy roster.

We need some new blood and introducing some new characters and making them good in this game might help springboard them in to future games if many of the dead characters don't return.

So yeah, I say "why not?"

Except MKDA was easily one of the best MK games with a new fight system, interesting characters (with few exceptions) and a Konquest mode that helped to expand the story a lot (probably the only thing I really like Vogel for)

how does any of this make sense?!? some backround character probably won't make DLC, skarlet is different due to her being a fan made character similar to ermac. and how exactly does kenshi suck more than anyone else introduced in MK:DA? if anything, he's better because he has past history with major characters.

We don't know anything of her and it surely makes more sense than her being Rain after a sex change. She could be Delia, the clairvoyant of Armageddon, who existed during the MKII time line and before.
