Let's presume the lady in purple was Delia.

She looks like Zafina from Tekken- that was my first reaction.

I don't get why everyone is so crazy for Kenshi. He came from an era when MK was BAD, his move animations were clunky, his model looked like he was a plastic action-figure, he was practically an Ermac clone, only his story was borderline interesting, but even that was pretty shallow, "Derp derp, I looked in a well and now I'm blind. Imma get revenge on that SOB that told me to look in there." Okay, whatever.

But Lady in Purple is awesome! She comes from the MK2 era, and as Kim Jong Il will tell you, Second MK is BEST MK. She looks great too. The only thing that is lacking is her story, and I'm sure NRS can come up with something that's at least twice as interesting as Kenshi's. Even what I wrote above, which took me about a minute and a half to think up, is more interesting than Kenshi's story.

Hm, guy in beige looks like he could conceivably be a generic fighting monk, like the generic grey lin kuei there to the right of sub zero or the generic grey retro female ninja at the first night of the MK1 tournament, but lady in purple has some personality.

I like Kenshi. But now I'm also curious who that lady in purple is. Didn't even notice her while playing thru storymode. Is she in more of the cutscenes or is this the only one?

No heels? She won't be playable. And NRS won't take the time and effort to add heels on her .

That's a possibility. If that skirt were yellow instead of purple everyone would be saying she was Tanya. So I could see it. I prefer to think of her though as a completely new character, so that's what she is. She also looks slightly too light to be Tanya. Though that doesn't mean anything as Jade's skin color is always different too.

No way. Lady in Purple is much more important than the slaves. She's standing with the fighters, so she must be a fighter herself. I think the slaves pretty much just cower at the foot of Khan's throne.

Beat me too it. Yeah it's Tanya when she's one of Shao Kahn's attendant girls. Having spent years as a bath attendant and cleaning the gutters and armors of Tarkatan and Shokan grunts, she cursed her fate. She knew there was something beyond her station, something beyond her lowly position. She spent countless years secretly learning sorcery. Her position granted her many secrets from the loose tongues of the mighiest generals and the lowliest of tongues. She found a book with odd runes that she had not encountered before during one of her trips.

It took her years to decipher the book, but when she did she was shown a world filled with powerful and terrifying things. She found herself in the Netherrealm and gazed upon it's majestic horror. A man with a pale face and strange black and red markings approached her. He told her talent could be useful since she had uncovered the truth of the book. He told her if she served his master and a group called the Brotherhood of Shadow, she would be granted power and knowledge of forbidden arts that she could only dream of. Like many from Outworld's past, the temptation proved too much for young Tanya. Corrupted by Quan Chi, the young Edenian slave girl waited patiently, plotting the arrival of her master Quan Chi and spying on the events of the previous tournaments. With her master beckoning, Tanya would finally be free from her shackles and a master of all those who once enslaved her.

Unseenwombat, as you know we tend to agree on things in general, but your indictment of Kenshi is hardly fair. Yes, Kenshi comes from a time when Mortal Kombat was terrible, plastic looking, and given to clunky movesets. ALL of Mortal Kombat.

But there's something innately cool about him. I can't explain it. I guess it comes down to subjectivity. Your mileage may vary, but I think Kenshi is sweet.
Speaking of Shao Kahn's slave...can we get some of the girls in that costume?

There's nothing that says she can't be DLC. Skarlett is in the game more, being part of the Arena, but there's probably some more DLC characters in the background other than this lady.
