1. They didn't give him multiple morphs.
2. They didn't give him his soul steal fatality.
3. They DID give him a F***ING RETARDED CLOWN MORPH just to stroke their own egos and giggle to themselves about MKvsDC.
4. They made him second fiddle to Quan Chi, rendering him, as a sorcerer, a pretty much superfluous character.

Just because kenshi came from what you thought was a shitty game isnt a valid enough reason to think hes a shitty character. If you have other reasons then by all means elaborate, but imo hes the best 3d era fighter (not including quan chi)

Yes the blindsowrdsman is a bit cliche but mk is one huge homage to cheesey kung fu flicks.

Elaboration in case you didn't read it in my other post:

Wow, I couldn't disagree with you more. I actually liked a lot of the new people in MK:DA. I'd take that cast over the new MK4 characters, the new MK:D characters and even over the new MK3 characters (I know, blasphemy!).

I think that Mavado has a ton of potential, especially using the grappling hooks on a 2D plane. I wasn't a fan of Nitara's wings, but I thought it was cool having a vampire in MK (before everything in the universe had vampires in it). I like Bo Rai Cho, though I hate the vomiting and farting. Frost has become a bit of a fan favorite. I also really dug Drahmin's story.

The problem wasn't with the characters themselves, but rather in the execution of some of the ideas and the fact that MK:DA kind of minimized the use of special moves. Mavado in particular got jobbed in the moves list section.

They started with some great ideas, with the style branch combos and what not, but but in the end, they were way light on special moves.

Still, the story was way deeper than anything MK'd had before that, the art style (I thought) was fantastic in places like Lung Hai temple, the House of Pekara etc... Yeah, I just don't see what you see. Not one bit.

As far as the emrac clone this has been goin on forever, that would mean that everyone has like 3 clones. Lui kang, Kai, Shang stung, Scorpion, Kintaro, and Blaze are all clones of eachother because they use fire, if you were to use that logic.

As far as his story its not groundbreaking, but its not horrible. This is MK after all not HBO paid programming.

Much rather have Raiko. Who is already modeled. I saw Frost and Reiko fighting on the pit once. :(

2. Why does EVERYTHING have to be like it once was? We HAVE that already. MK2 exists. It's a great game. Why do we have to keep repeating it?
3. They did a great job with the story, the character designs etc. But this is MK and if you didn't think that they'd at least put a little bit of humor in, then you don't know this series as well as you think you do.
4. During this time period, Shang Tsung was a boss in MK1, but he was still under Khan. This is how it was in MK2 and MK3, only difference then is that it was more overt.

That's just the way it is. It wasn't until MK:DA, your most hated game, that he stepped out from under Shao Khan's thumb, made a deal with a powerful sorcerer and advanced to real power player status.

Yeah agreed about the morph. NRS puts humour in their games, If mortal kombat was a band theyd be the beastie boys or sommthing, there great , but a part of why theyre great is becuase ther fun and like some humour... they dont take themselvs to seriously but they arnt a complete joke either.

In no means is this supposed to be a rude post back, but I find your reasons to hate Kenshi as laughable as how much you despise Shang Tsung all of a sudden.

I totally love when people claim that Kenshi is nothing but an Ermac clone, whether they're trying to refer to his moves or whatever.

What, Kenshi has telekinetic powers like Ermac? The problem is that Kenshi only has one move that is similar towards Ermac and that was the move that Ermac taught him. Otherwise, Kenshi has his own powers of telekinetic.

Ermac has more of a mystical way of telekinetic as he is able to make himself float, shrink people, burst projectiles. Granted that Kenshi will be having an updated set of moves, I can assure everyone that the telekinetic powers that both have are not even close to being similar in any way.

How you think Kenshi got blinded by a wall is also pathetic. He was tricked by Shang Tsung to open a tomb to release these warrior spirits. That act got him blinded.

And I have no idea how he moved like crap when he was a really cool character to play as in fighting. He wasn't that much of a difficult character to learn.

Sorry, I had to write this. It kinda bugs me when people think that Kenshi and Ermac are alike when neither share anything but one tiny little move.

Kenshi and Shang Tsung are both great.

Monk #28 is my favorite. I like his unique ear shape and the fact that he's a southpaw.

Monk #6 is pretty bad ass, as well.
