Very happy to see that there are other people out there who are nervously awaiting news on his inclusion. I thought I was the only one. *If Rain and Sheeva are in the game I think NRS should throw a major curve ball and reveal them next. I think that would shake things up a bit and fans of both these characters could finally relax.

But I have a feeling that if Rain is in he'll be a hidden character which means we might be sweating bullets until launch day, and when we do unlock all the games secrets and he isn't in then we can all do a major face palm and wait for the DLC. Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

All I need is for Rain to be included and my trio of epic awesomeness will be complete!

I'm sure Rain will be DLC. Frankly, I wouldn't be too broken up if he wasn't. I don't hate Rain, but he ranks pretty low on my favorites list.

There is still a chance of rain making It in the original roster. They just asked what unannouced characters would you want to see in the game on the facebook page.

after what they did with him in the xbox games, i really dont care to see him in mk9. i mean he was basically wearing mileenas deception outfit and they added a dick hole to his trousers.

Try and see if a rain dance would do the trick. Rain would be a nice addition to the character cast anyways.

I absolutely agree about RAIN. (Next to JADE of course) he's my fav in MK and while i did like his new moves, i want them to bring back his MKT moves. Loved his new royal outfit in MKA as well and hope they somewhat keep with that theme but we'll see...

yeah...and most of them smart people were answering Liu Kang, Reptile, Jax...*facepalm*

IMHO Rain character development wise has suffered almost as much as Stryker has. Maybe more fans because he look's Ninja, no offense to the people who love em. But his story went no where really, and was meant to be a joke character. Something Stryker has been the Pinnacle of for many years before now.

I think Rain deserves some actual Limelight and development in his Story. Ermac has had a chance to Improve through the past couple years and for the better IMHO. I don't think any Character should go to waste without at least Attempting to make him suitable and enjoyable.

Rain should get his chance.

I never liked a character because of his back story. I like rain cuz he is fun to play as since umk3. He seemed more unique than the other ninjas. I dont care if he is in story mode or not as long as they have him in the original rostor for arcade and vs mode.

The only way characters develop in MK for the most part is through Canon Storylines. If it wasn't for this we'd have a cluster fuck of characters beating the tar out of each other for no apparent reason known to us. A story Is what defines any character.

Im desprate. I want rain in the game whether it canon to the story or not. However Since the game is based around mk1 -umk3 timeline Im pretty sure there is a place for him in story mode.

Wow I now believe that every character has fans.Story aside while I'm a big lover of story lines in games Rain is one of those characters that even if he had a strong story it wouldn't help him.I think a strong design,great use of his water powers,and everything that u guys say made so great in MKT which I could never understand but hey to each is own.Ermac benefited from all these things in MKD and even looks better in this game not to mention his story was not that important after all.There is hope for Rain,Smoke,Shevea,Kabal,and the rest so just give it some time I mean come on surely he has a better chance then Smoke I mean come on he had to wait till MKD just to get his own moveset for Cristi sake.

I'm not with your statement about Smoke. His story involvement is a lot bigger at the time and whenever he obtained his own move set then, he got into the series two games earlier. Rain was the last ninja created if you don't count the compilation ninja Chameleon. The thing is that Smoke has his own move set now so that doesn't affect in his chances to be in the game. You shouldn't compare characters in a topic dedicated to a single character especially when your arguments are horribly wrong. I have nothing against Rain or his fans but I hate it when somebody tries to flatter a community, where they themself doesn't belong, by "secretly" badmouthing another community or object.

Ok I get your a fan of Smoke but again this a fighting game at the end of the day its about gameplay and the variety a character brings to the table.Story in a fighting game is a bonus to me.I'm not going to come at your head for character u like its not right I just prefer a character who is more unique gamplay wise more than the fact of a character who has a bigger of story.

Yes, but you were talking about the chances of which character has the best chances in making it to the game. Plot is a big factor in this game in NRS's eyes and NRS is the one whose opinion matters in who will make it to the game.

I believe nothing till I see the final product cause according to them with MkvsDC that games story mode was suppose to be nothing but the best so u'll excuse me if I just wait for the final bill of the game to see if they delivered on that one

Then you shouldn't speculate with incorrect points either because Smoke's likelihood in appearing in the game should be a no-brainer already. What comes to MK/DC; taking account of how bad the idea of mixing these two universes together was story-wise, they worked the story out okay. Yes, it was still horrible but I don't think you could make it much better with that formula. MK2011 and MK/DC are from different planets if you compare their qualities in storyline. In terms of fighting games, MK2011 is supposed to have the best plot ever in a fighting game. Granted that it will base on the old Mortal Kombat storylines, I don't doubt that.

Sure, Rain still has his chances in making it to the game but Smoke's situation in the contrary should pretty much be foolproof. What is unsure is in what level he'll be appearing in the game and what form will he adopt. He just has an image of a secret character so they're holding him to the end most probably, making people often hesitant on whether he's making it or not.

He will be there, if not Boon really is messing with some fans... why cut only Sheeva and Rain?

I second that! However he originally said the final roster would be around 26 fighters...We know about 20 so far (with Shao Kahn - Raiden and not counting Kratos as he is not in the 360 version). There are still 8 MK1-UMK3 remaining:
Sheeva, Rain, Kabal, Baraka, Smoke, Kano, Shang Tsung and Noob. With Boon hinting about Quan Chi or even a new character, you really think all 8 of them are making it? I think not... and if they were to leave one or two of them out I bet it'd be Rain :(

I hope Rain has his MKA moves and add his control ball and super roundhouse kick back; but he needs some nice new fatalities!

Fatality 1: Maybe he could slice up his opponent with his MKA knives, than instantly form a hollow-bubble around them and they drown in their own blood as it fills up and they can't get out; would be epic!!!

Fatality 2: He should turn into his liquid form and enter the opponent's body and use his knifes to cut himself out like Nightmare on elm street 2.

Fatality 3: He makes a human water-balloon out of his opponent by simply covering the opponent's mouth from behind; and he pops them with his knife and guts/organs go everywhere.

Rain FTW.Bring him back as a ninja.Fuck his armageddon looks.I even prefer him to be pallette swap of those classic costume they released.Rain is a beast.

I found Rain really interesting in MKT (I loved the thunder attacks, his magnetic specail orb, and that cute little baby elephant that he turns to), but, I became a "bigger fan of his" thanks to MKA.

His new design was perfect and his storyline a very nice twist!

I'm surprised that he is a candidate for DLC and that he probably won't make the original cut. I think he deserves that, but, oh well. Hopefully they'll do him justice when he shows up.

The thing (one of them) that really really sucks about DLC in this game is that they will most likely not be present (at all) during the story mode. So, we won't really see much of them during the story or movies. That sucks.
