Thank you for a kind, professional insight. As though I can help what I sound like you guys. (I never wanted to be a radio DJ) Quite personally, I find Linkara to be one of the better, more talented reviewers on Thatguywiththeglasses.com Maybe his voice isn't perfect, but his knowledge on comics makes up for it. Edit: I was addressing: "blacksaibot" with the first line.

Eh, personally I dislike Linkara. Not for his voice, I just don't like his style or sense of humor. I guess the whole "reviewing only bad things so you can MST3K them" shtick all the internet reviewers do has gotten old to me. And the skits he does that have a storyline to them, I don't see the point of. Again, I get that MST3K had skits, but why does everyone on that site have to copy the same act? And some people just watch reviews of things to see things be reviewed. Siskel and Ebert didn't get up and fight alien invaders in their little theater after they got done giving a movie thumbs up or down.

I do rather enjoy his "History of Power Rangers" retrospectives though, since he does them in a more serious documentary style instead.

Dude, exceptional. This was worth WAY more than two DP's. Totally had me laughing at the shear stupidity of how the story mode was and you told it great. The only unfortunate part of the whole things was ...... you were 100% completely right. Excellent job.

Good review I like how you kept bringing up continuity and the unnecessary over kill of using Quan Chi in a trilogy he should have been working behind the scenes in. You made a lot of valid points that I hope the story writers at Netherealm studios could have considered when developing the Story Mode for this game.

There are some things though that I saw in the story mode that you didn't address.

In terms of continuity, If we go back to the MK3 timeline Raiden should have not even been involved at all in that portion of the storymode. I remember that when Shao Kahn merged the realms together Raiden was only able to stand idly and watch all the events unfold on Earthrealm because the Outworld Gods were running the show from that point on. So if Raiden was not permitted to even step foot in Earthrealm when Shao Kahn was conquering it, then Liu Kang would have been present with his friends when Sindel attacked and we wouldn't have all those guys being killed. Johnny Cage would have fallen by Motaro, and the events would have unfolded. I don't see how in this revamp they could have forgotten that HUGE detail and have Raiden teleporting freely across the invaded Earthrealm when they took the time out in MK3 to let us know how grim the events looked for Earthrealm at that time.

Vogel said he'd like to respond to your review...[but can't due to legal reasons]

I want to go on record as saying that this is fucking fantastic, and is almost the best result these videos could achieve. Despite all of the technical issues with the vids, the message clearly did go through. A brofist goes out to PNF.

I'm seriously starting to get annoyed by the bullshit gag orders that Vogel always seems to be under, though. He was bound by them under Midway and now under the new management,as well. There have been numerous confirmations of the fact that Vogel doesn't like the directions the story was heading into ever since Deception, but he's never had a chance to properly voice them. Hell,he was never really allowed to talk at any length about the story or the characters, aside from some 5-second snippets in the bio vids. When you consider that he was probably the only who fleshed them all out and gave them substance and personality, that's total horseshit.

Is there any way to schedule an official interview with the Lore-Keeper of Mortal Kombat? I would imagine that MKO of all places should have enough star power to get through to WB on that.

I don't think WB cares about fansites. Remember all the disappointments with the way the game was marketed and hyped, how all the exclusives went to magazines, and character renders didn't become abundant until after release? And notice we didn't even get the traditional Fight Night Q&A when MK9 came out?

You gotta keep in mind that Trilogy is the canon version of MK3. According to his Trilogy bio, Raiden was still banned from interfering at first, but he eventually decides to ignore the Elder Gods and take mortal form, like he does whenever he goes to Outworld, in order to fight back in person.

'Course, Earth never became the jurisdiction of the Outworld gods in MK9 because in MK9, unlike in MK3 for some reason, the invasion and the merger don't start at the same time. The realms supposedly don't start merging until Shao Kahn walks through the portal and the Elder Gods show up to gnaw on him.

It really does seem like Vogel keeps getting shafted. What's great about him is his care for wanting to flesh out stories and even make use of certain seeming mishaps (Sareena's and Frost's appearances in MKA's Konquest mode). I would love to give my two cents (and then some) to Vogel about the story and characters. I think MK's story can be great again, but it simply cannot continue in the direction of the new game.

Oh, and PNF, I'm still disappointed that you don't sound like a scaly merman that likes to get drunk off of Bailey's. tongue

Some shit happened back home,so I have a lot less computer access for the time being, but rest assured,I still lurk around. Because I like ya guys a lot. :3

I actually saw these a while ago,i just never really had a chance to comment on them, since by the time I chimed in the thread, everyone has already mentioned everything I was gonna bring up. Bah.

In any case, you've done a great job, man. Yes,there are numerous technical issues, but the message is clearly there. It really is criminal that these vids have so few views.

I wasn't sure what to do about my voice. It took me some getting used to my own voice.

Don't worry, bro - everyone hates their own voice when they hear it in a recording. Personally,I was more concerned about the way you seemed to be in a bit of rush to get through the script, but that's probably because I've watched Plinkett's reviews for 100+ times by now,so his monotone delivery is engraved in my mind. :3
Some delivery was because I had to go back and rerecord a lot of things simply because my files get deleted and I was like: "I have to record this all over again" and my heart wasn't entirely in it the second time. That being said, I think I can work on my acting skills.
