don't you wish they would show someone doing an x-ray move in one of these trailers? i bet it would look so good. also when sub-zero freezes scorpion, he's frozen in the same position as the ice hits him. i like that better than the way they have it in the game now.

The article says nothing about there being two costumes. It only lists exclusive costumes for the Kollector's and Tournament edition, then it says that the exclusive is Scorpion for one store, Sub-Zero for another, Reptile for the third.

If you can find proof you get the preorder costume with the Standard Edition too, or that you get a second bonus costume with the special editions, great, but I'd like to see it, because that's not the way the article is worded.

What the fuck are you talking about.

Both games offer downloadable costumes, giving some free with the purchase of the game.

They're the same you ditz. Shut the fuck up.

Actually, MK is worse because they only offer their costumes with their collector's editions and pre-order bonuses. Street Fighter gave a free costume code with the purchase of a new copy of the standard game.

Try saying something relevant next time.

So you cannot read is the issue here. Allow me to repeat;

SF4 (not SSF4, which did, but is 75% old content to begin with) came with NO costumes for free, even on pre-order. Only the collectors edition, that came with DVD, book and I think LE case.

MK9 preorder from Gamestop, Amazon, and Best Buy comes with an exclusive costume and fatality REGARDLESS OF WHICH PACKAGE. Read the press release again. Read it twice. Read it four times before you reply again.

I took it as you get the costume/fatality if you preorder any version, and the kollector's edition nets you a separate costume. For example, Jax "fuck with my pants" Briggs.

This is what I understand to be the truth.

Apparently with Amazon.com, you can get the Reptile bonuses with the regular version.

I'm confused, what are they offering for free? Because the bonus costume and finisher only come with the more expensive editions.

No...You can get a costume and finisher with the standard edition pre-ordered as well.

Then why does it only say "downloadable content that includes an exclusive Mortal Kombat Klassic costume skin" under the description for the Kollector's and Tournament editions, and not under the standard one?

I'm guessing that something different, because the Amazon standard edition page says you get Reptile.

You rebuttal your own shit without me even having to type anything. Street Fighter gives you free shit for buying the game. Mortal Kombat gives you free shit for pre-ordering it.

So what if the original Street Fighter gives you free costumes in the Collectors Edition only? It's still not a pre-order bonus. It comes with the game when you buy it now.

People aren't complaining about DLC, they're complaining about the exclusivity of the matter. NRS has been putting exclusives in any aspect they can. Console, retailer, edition, pre-order... all retain exclusives. There's no way to get all this shit without buying like 3 copies of the damn game.

Your whole BS about DLC has nothing to do with this thread.

Alright, that's proof, fair enough.

I'm getting the Kollector's Edition anyway 'cause I want that artbook, so I'm personally not worried about it, but I just wanted to see it clarified.

At what point did you come to the conclusion that buying from Amazon is the only place to get Reptile's costume from now until the end of time? Did you come to that conclusion on your own?

It seems to be that the only Collectors/Tournament edition comes with a fatality and costume for a character we're not told about yet.

However, if you pre-order a copy, regardless of the edition, you get the costume/fatality for the store's respective character.

Who said there isn't going to be an edition of MK released in the future that includes every piece of DLC, like a lot of games that have DLC?

Wow. I've already said that it will likely be downloadable content in the future. Take your own fuckin' advice and read.

But guess what. When it becomes available for download YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT! Reminds me of another game you were bitching about where you have to pay for costumes.

And we have circled back to the beginning. To reiterate.

You: Paying is bullshit.
Me: But you can get some of it now for free
You: Bullshit! I want it all for free!

Where is your argument here? It sucks that NRS is willing to give a piece of the pie away for free?

When the fuck did I say paying was bullshit?

I said this exclusivity is bullshit. I shouldn't have to choose a retailer to get something in a video game, regardless if it becomes available for purchase later on.

Again, I reiterate, you have no idea what you're arguing about.

In fact, you're the one whining about purchasing costumes. There's nothing in this game that makes it more ethical than Street Fighter. They're going to nickel and dime us just as hard, as you would say.

Look man, if you don't have a point you should stop talking. You want everything for free. I get it. Just say that, so NRS can bankrupt another publisher and we can all go play more madden and cod.

Fenix, you really aren't paying attention to Luca's argument.

He doesn't mind DLC, what bothers him is having to choose between Gamestop, Best Buy, and Amazon. Bonuses shouldn't be different for different stores, they should be all the same 'cause it's kinda unfair to get only one and miss out on the other two for a month or however long it takes until they become normal DLC.

Holy shit, lol. Are you trolling me to death or something? Let me try and make this as clear as I can for you.

I DON'T CARE ABOUT PAYING FOR DLC.

I do care about having to drive 20 fucking miles to get my Sub-Zero costume because Gamestop's exclusive is Scorpion. All retailers should get the same shit.

Retailer exclusive content is bullshit. Is that clear enough for you. Comprehendo? Do you understand my point?

Go to amazons website and check Mortal Kombat, there is no kollectors edition listed just the standard 59.99 version and it says you get the original reptile skin with a pre order.

Right. But if you purchase the Collectors or Tournament Edition, you'll get another costume and fatality for an unnamed character.

..from what I understand at least.

Well I definitely hope all the classic ninjas are available somehow instead of which version you get. I dont see how they would deprive so many fans of old school content depending on which console you buy for.
