They haven't even put in the physics for her clothes on her alt model so of course people will judge it early and say it looks wonky, when it will most likely look better when its finished and in motion.

Reptile has the best alt in MK history it fits him so well. Worst goes to Scorpion. I just don't like the head. Everything else is fine

How is it awful? its purposely supposed to be mileena looking like that clone in the back of the Fleshpit level. Wrapped in bandages, fresh out the growing tube, ready to kill and serve Kahn (and secretly Tsung).

not really feeling the re-imagining Mileena's first alt. I would have liked it so so so much better if they kept it how it looked in MKD. Her flesh pits costume is ass too...

Kitana's alt is way too similar to Mileena's so I'm not feeling that one too much either.

Her face is not "really good". It's generic at best, Michael Jackson-esque at worst. Both her and Jade have the most plain-jane faces I've seen in a game. Verging on K-A-F or the Sims for me. Sindel, Sonya, Sheeva all had distinctive faces that work for me. Jade and Kitana's don't add up.
I'd prefer MK-G/MKDA over this, at this point.

Her alternate would be forgiveable if her primary were different. They're both far too similar and incredibly lazy.

I'll go by character.

Baraka: It's different and detailed, but in my opinion it's way too elaborate for him. His Primary is better as it feels more true to the character.

Cyrax: Loved it. The human ninja version of himself with it's own unique animations won me over but I kinda hoped human cyrax would be DLC. I'd like to see another Cyborg outfit, see what else they can design for him.

Ermac: Of all the alternates in the game it's one of the most befitting outfits in regards to character. It's different, it's well designed, it's mystical and it's got an Arabian feel to it. Loves it!

Jade: Not a fan of it. Her facial features are too thin in comparisson to the gorgeous full physical features she had in Deception, and her hair just seems a little awkward. It needed more Gold, and the cloth wrap across her chest from her Deception primary would have looked much better than a bra.

Jax: Loved it! It's the only suit I'll wear for him when I'm playing as him, it rocks!

Johnny Cage: Again, loved it. Very Miami Vice. However they should probably move on from making Tuxedo's his alternate outfits, they've been doing it since MK4 and I'd like to see something new.

Kabal: Not too pushed on it. 3rd degree burns and a terrifying respirator/mask just doesn't seem to fit the whole S.W.A.T team look.

Kano: I love it! Then again, he's got a hairy chest on show. Bitch could be wearing Lucite Heels and a pink thong and I'd still love it for that hairy chest!

Kitana: Vile. Absolutely hate it. It's awkward looking, it's impractical, uncreative and her face....don't get me started. At least know we'd know what Lil Kim would look like if she fell into a vat of bleech and decided to wear a lot more Blue.

Kung Lao: Boring. In comparisson to his Primary this suit just doesn't appeal to me. Would have been much cooler if his alt was his MK3 garb.

Stryker: Nothing really stands out to me about this outfit. Reminds me a lot of Leon in his police uniform from Resident Evil 2, but aside from that I prefer his primary.

Liu Kang: It's something new and different whilst still keeping in theme with the character. I'm liking it.

Mileena: Would have looked much better if the design on her knee pads in her primary was sewn onto her tailcloth just to keep the design related. Her legs could have benefited nicely from some nice golden accents or armour, but aside from that, it's quite good.

Nightwolf: Very odd, but very in character too. Having only recently unlocked it, I'll need time to get used to it. lol

Noob Saibot/ Sub-Zero: Once I seen this outfit on Sub-Zero, I prefered it on him as the blue really makes the outfit more appealing. I'd have preffered if Noob's alternate was perhaps a black, shadowy ninja Gi, similar to the retro ninja designs but with more of a MK2 motif rather than an MK1 motif.

Quan Chi: I much preffered his alternate. It makes more sense to me than him wearing his Deadly Alliance attire years before he's even encountered Onaga's army and bothered to tattoo the spells onto his arms.

Raiden: Prefer his primary. We've had Dark Raiden before, a new take on oldschool Raiden would have been sweet.

Reptile: Loved it! Very primal, very snake like. Suits him perfectly :)

Scorpion: It's the only outfit I use for Scorpion. Leagues better than his primary, and no where near as over done.

Sektor: I prefer the Robot version. He just reminds me of Shang Tsung with flamethrowers in his alt.

Sheeva: Was quite surprised with how much I liked Sheeva's. She actually seemed really intimidating, and it suited her!

Sindel: Looked like something from Cher's wardrobe. It's new, but I've yet to warm up to it, though it does have potential to win me over. I think it's her hair in this outfit that throws me off, suits her better when she hasn't got it in a hair bobbin.

Smoke: Love it. Much better than his Primary, and a lot more bad ass than Scorpion or Sub-Zero's ninja suits. Particularly liking his mask with the air vents at the side.

Sonya: Very Sarah Connor from the Terminator! I like it a lot!

So, Michael Jackon-esque is a generic female face? I like Kitana and Jade's features. I love Kitana's arched eyebrows and sharp lips. Her nose may be small, but I like it, I don't find it generic at all. Jade is very pretty to me, I don't think I understand you when you're saying generic.

And I really can't see how you think Kitana's alt is 'lazy', then praise Sonya's alt. Now that's a plain jane outfit, a lot of girls wear that kind of stuff every day, at least here in Texas *it may not looks as good lol.*

Cyber Sub's

Regarding Quan Chi; I do prefer his alt to his main. I've no problem with the MKDA look (though it bugs me that he's the only character who's never gotten a redesign since DA), I can even look past the tattoos (lets just say he magicked some other spells on them at this time, then magicked them away later). But there's something both costumes have that royally ticks me off.

He's has the amulet. He's wearing it on his belt out in the open, as if Raiden, Sub-Zero, and anyone interested in the amulet of a fallen Elder god wouldn't notice it. And nobody does. HOW? WHY? Frankly, I think the bit at the end between QC and Shinnok would be much better if this happened. Shinnok: Mmyes, and soon, I shall rule all the realms... say... I notice you have my amulet. Quan Chi: No I don't. Shinnok: Yes you do, I can see it right there on your belt.

Every time I see Jade's alt I get the image of her chained up next to Jabba the Hutt I seriously hope she has a MK2 alt, because even though her primary is hot I can only pick it so many times. Next game I hope NRS replaces her alt with one that has one of her MKD hairstyles.

Sonya's FROM Texas -_-

Sonya's works because it's practical, sensible, fits the character. It is a nod to so many things, and still looks hot. It's simple, yes, but simplicity does not make it "lazy". "Every day wear" is perfectly acceptable when her primary is a super over-the-top stylized Special Forces outfit. It's just what she needed and frankly one of the few things that would make sense.

Kitana's is lazy because it's nothing new for her. She's had the DA ponytail (which i much prefer to her primary, to be clear). She wears a two piece in her primary. Both her primary and her alternate are taking things from better outfits and making them awful. The criss cross in her primary, the sleeves from the mileena/kitana outfit in Deception in her alternate. The fan motif at least was an attempt at something cool, but it was so obvious and ugly that it didn't fit with the crappy bikini bottom they gave her.
They slapped her in a two piece for BOTH outfits = lazy. They can and have done better, so I'm not going to make excuses for them.

Notice how i said "generic at best" and "michael jackson at worst". That means its either generic (like you said, sometimes it looks okay) or horrible (early on in story mode when she was chained she looked far worse than say, when she fought Sindel). Her and Jade look far too similar and Jade's hair is awful. Simple.

I fail to see the practicality of a bulletproof or a tactical vest with cleavage and exposed midriff. Plus high heels? Combat boots would've made sense. Even so, I do like her design for the most part; though it would've been better if it was more practical.

Alt's I prefer over primaries: Nightwolk, Sub-Zero, Cyrax, Kano, Sheeva, and smoke. Honorable mentions to Kung Lao and Liu Kang. I hate Kitana's alt! Something about Scorpion and Sindels Alts don't seem right.

A common and sensible criticism. As a die-hard Sonya fan, I'm not exactly blind to the silliness of her cleavage. Give her an undershirt (like the one in her alt) and flat combat boots and she'd look very much a sensible and believable (if fantastical) combat chick.

Queve and I ranted at length about the ridiculous boobage -_- But it's hardly specific to Sonya, in this case. They went WAY overboard on the boob factor in this one. Sonya's boobs, Kitana and Jade wearing next to nothing... Mileena being naked -_-

I'm I really the only one who just doesnt get it? the make up is vile, why on earth would you paint over your eyebrows to make the look big and twirly?As for the actual costume, to me it looks like shes wearing a bra over a costume, it just looks very gaudy and just a big yuck to the partial body stocking, there is nothing royal about this look apart from the crown which I admit I do like but thats it!
Its like a cross between a Cher cast off and a drag queen, she just looks like mutton dressed as lamb

I'm still not liking it. It's too simple, In an over-the-top game where everyone wears over-the-top outfits, Sonya's is way too plain, it doesn't fit. In this case, simplicity does equal lazy. There's a character in just about every fighting game that could wear that same outfit and make it their own.

Kitana's outfits are Kitana's, especially her alt. I don't think it's lazy at all, it fits the story and is specific to Kitana's character. I'm still finding it funny that you call Kitana's design lazy and still say Sonya's is amazing. You seem to be making excuses for Sonya's bland alt design, which is cool, to each their own. I love Sonya's primary and her gameplay is amazing, and she's pretty sometimes, I just choose not to use that alt...

And I would say 'mediocre' to 'beautiful'. She was mediocre while being chained up and beautiful during the church scene. But again, my opinion

Yeah, Kitana's is really weak...but Sindel, that's much worse imo.

I love Scorpion's alt but wish the mask didn't look like a crab. If he had a simpler hood/mask, would have been the best Scorpion design for me.
