I have no serious problems with the boots, but, I do have a problem with how ugly and awkward Mileena's sleeves are on her. WTF? It's like she glued pieces of other costumes into her....and a thong. It's so hideous.
The 2 positive things about the costume: Fan-inspired attitude (though it failed) and the tied pony-tail (much better).
Noob Saibot:
I understand the reference, but, we all seriously know this already. We don't need a copy/paste costume of blue Sub-Zero for Noob Saibot. We know who he is already and he would have done so much better with an epic dark scary costume.
A word on Jade's:
I love Jade, but, I've got to say her alternate did leave me a little disappointed. She looks great, don't get me wrong, but, that hair and that face (soooo different from her beautiful MKD features) don't feel fitting or appropriate for her. Overall: not bad, but, not her best.
A 5 page thread about Sonya's alternate supports how successful it is.
Sonya's alt is easily one of the most popular and well received of the game (and people keep talking about it). The simplicity doesn't make it "bad" or "mediocre". Samuhai clearly explained he differences and whether you like it or not his post makes total sense.

I honestly think you are being biased against Sonya just because Kitana is getting so much hate.
But, I could be wrong and maybe it is your real opinion. Which is fair. I mean no offense.

I love Sonya's primary and her gameplay is amazing, and she's pretty sometimes, I just choose not to use that alt...
And I would say 'mediocre' to 'beautiful'. She was mediocre while being chained up and beautiful during the church scene. But again, my opinion

You know I love Kitana... I just was so bewildered by her alternate
Remember when we first saw Kitana chained up, in that first background pic? The discussion we all had about what we could see of her costume?
Well... when we saw her alternate (also chained up -_-') we had the exact same conversation... except she had no mask >_O
"skimpy, two piece, "slutty""... yeah there was the "no mask, cowboy boots, sleeves" thing, but in the end, it was the same conversation. The one special thing about the outfit (the fan design) was a great idea but when thrown onto a two piece bikini thing AGAIN it was like -_-' . It's lazy because she already had that idea. An alt should be different, significantly.
Which Sonya's was. It was more "casual" (i'm laughing while saying that given her primary's boobage and out of place heels -_-'), something we've NEVER seen on her (glasses, shorts), with a lot of winks to a lot of things... Whilst plain jane, it was also fitting, and something I'd thought of her wearing long before the leaked pics.
But then, opinions are opinions aren't they
I just hope whenever I get the game (god knows when that'll be -_- :( fucking australia) kitana's retro will be available because that was always my personal favourite for the three ninja girls
