It's not exactly the same thing with Sonya. She has never changed her form, unlike Smoke has. Smoke has been in his human embodiment, cyborg case and elemental form. Sonya, in the other hand, has always been human. I get it why some of us demand for two separate Smokes - we had that in earlier games already.

I for one think that we should settle with only one playable Smoke in this game - human that is. This is because we have never had him playable in 3d so far and the timeline we will have now is the time Smoke was introduced (MKII, Human Smoke). We have had Cyborg Smoke in countless games without the real Human Smoke so, for a change, it can be the other around. I wouldn't whine if we got two Smokes, as long as it wouldn't hurt the game and it worked, but I don't see it necessary.

I'd still use Noob-Smoke (human) tag-team even if their was a Cyborg Smoke. Don't like cyborg but since it's in the story they'll prolly give him moves and such, I don't see a Smoke unveiling, I see Kabal maybe

You don't get the point of the whole topic. You say H. Smoke has a ccompletely different fighting style... without realizing that he never had moves on his own and was just a mere copy of Scorpion without story in UMK3 after all. Same as Classic Sub

So if you want both versions in it... Than be smart and let cyborg and human be the same spot, the same moves and just an alternate.

His old looks were just ninja and cyborg pallete swaps but his MKD costume was unique.

I'm worried yes, because Smoke is my most hated character now, and if my most hated character gets two spots on the roster it's totally spoiled.

I refuse to believe we get two of the same character on the select screen however, that flip-thing could work, but not two stupid smoke heads next to echother on the roster like in trilogy, that was horrible.

And why his alternate costume can't be robot? I've seen stranger alternate costumes, they still can make them play the same, its just a appearance, the moves can be the same. If people want to play as human smoke from MK2 they just need to pick scorpion and if they want to play his robot-smoke version they should try out Sektor.

Having *any* robotic parts makes one technically a Cyborg- even an artificial heart valve.

Even as a huge Smoke fan, I'd prefer it if he kept a basic moveset through both human and cyber forms. His moves are going to get totally revamped - he's not going to have a spear anymore, at least not one that's used in the same way Scorpion does. At the most, he'll have a teleport punch of some type, I'd guess.

The only real issue preventing him having one moveset across two forms is shit coming out of his chest in cyber form, I think. They could always bypass that by having him launch his arsenal out of his wrists rather than his chest...though it would feel like something's missing, TBQH.

That's why they probably have to change or cut the part where he turns into a cyborg, this isn't the real mk,1,2,and 3 after all, so things can be prevented and changed, I hope Smoke is one of those characters.

Maybe he escapes this time, being only minimum turned into a cyborg, only his arm or face or whatever.

Okay, the idea of him getting 2 spots is dumb. maybe alternate costumes yeah, but 2 spots? No. Or maybe he will be one of them but if you put in a code he changes (umk3). I think that he will be secret though. I'm geussing he will be mentioned in sub's story along with cyrax and sektor, But you have to find out how to get him.

I also have a feeling Smoke will be next. Or maybe I'm just hoping Smoke will be next. I hope his costume will be a mix between his classic and his MK:SM costume, except for the gray / black skin he had in SM.. it looked a little too much like Noob Saibot.

Smoke's main story is him becoming cyborg, I don't see that being taken away because it gives NRS that chance to make a cyborg of a character using Sektor/Cyrax model without spending too much time. Two Smoke's is what makes Smoke interesting, not that he wasn't interesting in the first place.

About your point; that could work if we'd have the situation but I wouldn't rule out the option of two boxes either - it's all about how NRS pulls it out.
