I can sort of agree with that regarding her primary, but, not the alternate:



As much as I like the design (particularly the cool detail/patterns in the pants and the addition of the vest), the reason it feels "incomplete" for me is exactly the same thing I've complained about since it was revealed: the lack of a shirt.

That alone would have made this costume my favorite of Sonya's.

The design and style is so great. The lack of a shirt...not so much. I'm not a hater on heels, but, truth be told, it was truly unnecessary to give Sonya (and every single female) heels. Really. The combat boots in her alternate clearly show how unnecessary and unfitting it is for her to wear heels.

As for the alt, I disagree. She's still more covered and better presented then the rest of the almost naked girls and showing her stomach has been a trademark of hers since 1992. I don't see or want that to change. I don't see how she should "cover more" when the idea is new shorts + a sexy tank top.

I'm actually so pleased with this costume its become my favorite of hers.

Sure, its simple and casual, but, the overall execution and delivery of this look is so fitting and so well done that it's hard not to love it. The little details such as the hat, the badge, the dog tags, and the cool boots and better looking gloves + those fantastic and orgasmic glasses really make this costume. It is not as detailed as her primary, and still, it captures attention so much more. It's not only fresh, it's also well executed.

New costumes cannot only be good because "they are different and fresh", they have to be good for so many more reasons and i think this one accomplishes that pretty well.



While I do understand your point, I think we should all back-off with the fights on who is better than who or who looks better than who. This thread is not about that.

Sonya's alternate reminds me of her costume from Mortal Kombat Annihilation

Sonya's costumes are good, but it would have been cool to see something more reminiscent of her MK1 and MK3 costumes.

In regards to my praising of Kitana's costume, I said they were amazing and the best she has ever looked because her costumes are fresh and something we have never seen her in before, but still an homage to her classic costumes, and it was long overdue.

As for her MKDA alternate Quevey, just to clarify...... the problem I have with it is likely due to the fact that the MKDA models in general were epically shite, especially the women......
The concept of her alternate was fine, but it made her look way older when coupled with her frankly ugg haircut and face model..... the boobs looked like they were fighting to escape and there was weirdness around her crotch.... and I just felt like while they were trying to go the formal route... it ended up bad-drag-queen "formal"... it didn't come off as cool-looking to me.

Which is not to say I never play with that outfit when I go back to DA/Armageddon.... I just think the technical and design team limitations cost it its "greatness"...

Here's the thing about Sonya.... Even when I KNOW her outfit could be "better", I sort of end up liking her "flaws".

Her primary costume:
- She fights in high heeled boots. Really? Hell YES, really! Sonya is badass enough that she can fight in high heeled boots all damn day, sucka! Don't think she can't rock the high heels and pull an 11-hit combo with kicks to the face without missing a beat. She's just THAT good.

- She needs a shirt. Oh, is that so? Does she NEED a shirt? Or is she flaunting the fact that she's the very walking incarnation itself of "Motorboat Material", whose epic cleavage is too great for any mere piece of pitiful fabric to wholly contain? Those puppies are registered explosive weaponry, and that vest isn't for HER protection, it's for YOURS.

Her alternate costume:
- Aviator glasses. Yes, aviator glasses. Why? Because she obviously can fly a helicopter/fighter jet/dragon/undead banshee queen as much as she damn well wants to, and she's prepared! THAT'S why!

- No bra. First, you imply that any bra could EVER contain such awesomeness. Secondly, you assume that her bountiful bosom would hurt her in some way during combat, thus imply she is anything less than the most hardcore militant bitch with a spine and back muscles chiseled from the hardest of granite blocks.

Beyond that, she rocks an amazing tan-line, thus implying that even the sun itself is in love with Sonya's rockin' body. And if her moist, pouty lips weren't inviting enough, or her cool, ice-blue bedroom eyes not inviting enough, then surely her sultry, commanding voice would cause any soldier to drop and give her twenty or to snap to attention.

If Sonya wants to fight the armies of Outworld in aerobic spandex, she damn well will. If she wants to fight in her tightest thong, whose gonna stop her? She's the first lady of MK, and you WILL respect her authoritah!

I wish NRS had some women on their main team. Then maybe we could get away from the obscene porn star female looks, and maybe something more human looking. Actually, there are quite a FEW women on the NRS team, many of whom have given interviews about the game. I do believe the lead UI director for the game was a woman as well, and I know one of the voice directors/recruiters died before the game was released.

I think the women, like the men, realize that this is a fantasy game full of hot babe and beefcake superhero men. I don't see Ed Boon going "put a guy in the game that looks like me... skinny with bushy eyebrows".

Though they did put Carlos in the game....

Nice find Queve. It's a great render of Ms. Blade. I know that people have been comparing her alt look to Lara Croft.... However I gotta say I'm more on the Sarah Connor side of the fence. (Which isn't a bad thing, cause Sarah Connor is definitely a badass.) It's the shades that clinches it for me. They look exactly like Sarah's. As alt's go, it's not a bad look. I know I didn't like the shades at first, but I've used the alt a bit more and they've grown on me. However I do like the camo version of the outfit better.

Honestly i like her face. It's boring to see all females have pretty faces in games. Don't get me wrong. I like pretty faces by women but in this case i like the way they do it in this game.

Yeah, Queve. I hope so too. I like the MKcsDCU fatalities much more from Sonya, than in MK2011 and that's kinda sad.
