I actually truly hope that never happens.
I was shocked by his ending, its cool. But, I prefer this character to remain the enigma that he is.
Making him "Jerrod" really cheapens him out. I hope that doesn't happen.
About Me
Keep dunking your Kenshi breadsticks into your Skarlet sauce, people! The main course isn't coming for a while, and you never know when it's going to be disappointing.

@ThunderThighs. Cage and Sonya didn't have enough focus? They were in the game at square one! Stryker and Kabal didn't have enough focus.
@queve, I see where you're coming from, but I'm thinking that Ermac under the control of King Jerrod would be SOMEWHAT different. He'd still be very confused, and still consider himself as one of many. Though he'd have compassion for Sindel and Kitana, he'd probably assume responsibility as a defender of the realm, rather than King.
Not to mention, looking as horrifying as Ermac does... I don't know if Edenia would be okay with their king being so monstrous, even if it IS King Jerrod.

I like your thoughts on Ermac. I'd certainly prefer that over him suddenly "being Jerrod".
I loved his ending, but, I'm not a fan of the idea of Ermac being replaced by Jerrod.
Ermac being what it is is what makes him my favorite of "the masked ninjas".

I'm curious to know why you feel that way.
I understand the feeling regarding characters who should not have died, but, why do you feel Johnny had to die? Is it because of those moments in the story mode that you wrote about? Because tons of characters who loose don't die afterwards, so, I don't think that matters.

Yes, it is for those 2 moments I mentioned. I expect Shao Kahn to spare none of his enemies, so if he bothered killing that monk, he should have done the same with Johnny, imo. Btw, sorry for replying after so much time.

MK9 official title: Raiden fucks things up.
MK10 official title: Raden fixes what he fucked up.
At least IMO, haha.

This. A hundred times this.
Or at least give him something of his own, don't make him Jerrod. Thats such a boring direction for his character to go. A mysterious force is infinitely more interesting.
However, I have always liked the idea that deep down inside, Ermac DOES have a soul of his own, but for it to be Jerrod is lame.

He can have Jerrod's soul, but that's it. Just act like Ermac all the God damn time. If anything this can at least explain somewhat why he seeks redemption so badly. And it's also funny how Kahn seems to feel the need to surround himself with the entire Edenian royal family too, lol.

They are MK originals and LUCKY BASTARDS.
I wouldnt read to much into it. Writers probably just drew straws to decide.

Exactly.
I wouldn't mind having Jerrod in him, somewhere, and playing a background role that might lead to a very important and significant event in Ermac's fate/role.
However, having Ermac be Jerrod would suck so much. It would ruin the character.
I also wouldn't like having 1 soul take control over the rest. Despite the fact that Ermac is a being composed of so many different souls, it appears that he is a "soul of his own". Maybe this fusion created a separate soul that makes him who he is? Still, not strong enough to make him break free from the rest.

I find that hard to believe.
