Yep. They really got it right as far as content goes.

This reveal was better than I could have even expected. My favourite character just returned with a thunderous bang! Raiden's gameplay looks incredible. I would have to say it's easily the best gameplay he has had and it looks like he once again has potential to dominate. I believe the Displacer version is going to be so much fun to play as. I especially love the delayed teleport, the front teleport and the multiple teleports within the various combos shown. For me, that's something I've always envisioned that Raiden should be able to do.
The electrical effects are amazing and I'm liking that there's more of it in his combos and specials. Adding some to the teleport and the various stance modifications (electricity around his hands etc.) is all pretty sweet. It makes him seem more powerful in my eyes.
I've no issues with his costume. It's a typical costume for him and what we have come to expect for him over the years. It keeps him familiar and leaves room for the alternate to be a radical change from the norm.
Overall, I'm beyond happy with what they've shown so far. That Fatality was brilliant as well. Hopefully his story will have some of the love they've poured into his gameplay and redeem itself for the absolute abomination that was his MK 2011's storyline.

So it still doesn't make much sense to me, rather had them say something interesting to each other.

So Raiden is also out of the picture for the final boss like many people were speculating.

I just had a thought...maybe his costume looks similar to MK9 because this is Raiden straight after the last game. His alt could be 25 years in the future Raiden, so there's still a chance we could even see Dark Raiden.
I'm guessing/hoping that's how they will do a lot of the returning character's costumes like Johnny/Sonya if they are back. Younger model and older, 25 years into the future model. For me that would be awesome!! :)

Well I've gotten over my bitching with Raiden. I think it was a combination of his involvement in the game being so damn predictable and there for making the announcement not at all "surprising", throw in his extremely safe design and it just left me pretty pissy.

But whatever. I'm happy for his fans and I think he has awesome variations.

Well think of the bright side. He's out of the way so now we can get on with more interesting reveals.

Lmao! Exactly! Now that the "Basic Trio" (Raiden, Scorpion, Sub) have been announced- any other reveals should be more surprising.

I am like the only person who went heavily into detail about his gameplay in the video. While anyone who does talk about it just makes one little sentence "i liek dis 1 thing about him". *sigh*....done.

I did give credit where it was due and think that this Raiden is, in my opinion, the most promising skill set wise. I could careless how his outfit is as long as he isn't going for a grape smuggler or mankini
