100% agree with that, that costume was awesome (his best by far) another option that I would have loved is a "Big Trouble In little china" based costume. <1br/>

Is it just me, or does Raiden look like he's eaten one too many burgers? Of course, it may only be his costume, but, nonetheless, he looks BULKY AS FUCK.

He doesn't look bulky at all. If anything, this is the least bulky he has looked since the original 3 MK games. He looked pretty damn bulky in DA, I remember.

I like the flair of the combat, electricity effects are great, the arc trap seems to have more effect of they're farther apart, x-ray is great as well as the fatality, the design is what I was expecting so I dont care

The design has nice intricate details alot of you are probably overlooking, hopefully we get a render or high resolution screens soon! MKX is looking like it might have the best character designs in the series for me, I have no complaints so far.

I also want to mention how great the animations have come since MK9, game is looking great.

I love the style of gameplay Raiden has in this trailer. He is godlike, pun intended. His gameplay is definitely much improved from his stiff combat he had in MK9, much faster, love that the lightning effects are in almost every hit. He is a thunder god after all, not a regular fighting warrior from earth.

Glad that he has the same stance and slightly different appearance. Was hoping they get rid of the traditional blue vest he started wearing since MKII and go all white again like MK1, but they just change it around a little here and there with every other game. Like others said, you can't change Raiden's appearance much, he has to have that iconic look he generally has. I do love that upgraded hat and that his face is slightly different.

X-ray move was pretty cool, nice animation with the body getting electrocuted.

Fatality made me lol when eyes popped out, I was like wtf? and then when the head pops out, totally MK1 homage, followed by a zap to the blown off head and boom! love it, quite comical and serious at the same time. 10/10, best fatality for Raiden in a long time!

This also means that he won't be the surprise final boss as many of us were assuming, that he went all Dark Raiden again, but that didn't happen as he is playable from the start. So that rules that out.

I have to admit, I was expecting more news to be revealed at EVO, but Raiden was really awesome in the trailer...his costume could be more uncommon, but the big surprise was his gameplay. Electrocution moves are very realistic, his teleportations lets 'electric ghosts' behind, X-ray is ok and his fatality is very good too, nice to see kotal's face suffering with his finishing move...Hope we get more news soon....

By chance did anyone catch the cosmetic changes for the thunder god and displacement Raiden, or was storm lord the only one that got a change with his hat?

Don't worry. We'll see it again during the next reboot.

Other than Kotal, i've noticed with everyone there's only one change to their wardrobe. Scorpion and his swords, Sub and his ice mask (was his other variation with the medallion on another variation?), D'Vorah and her hood, Ferra/Torr with his sack changing to a tan color but I guess you could say Ferra not being on his back is a change, and Cassie with the shades. Raiden's hat seems to be the only change. Speaking of Raiden's medallion, it did shatter into pieces in MK9 so of course it's gone.

It did reform at the end though. Don't really see what the big deal is if he leaves it home this time around, as it caused enough problems in MK9.

Agreed. Kotal Kahn was the highlight of the trailer in my opinion.

THE GOOD:

1: He uses A lot of lightning-abilities and moves.
2: I loved his fatality, even tho it's another decapitation, its a very cool one at that.
3: His new moves/traps/area moves are awesome!
4: I adored how they put teleportation into such a good light, it was amazing how they used teleportation effectively in this battle, so awesome.

THE BAD
1: His appearance is again nothing really special.
2: I didn't like his conversation with Kotal Kahn, seems like these two aren't really related in the storyline, neither as friends or enemies.

THE VERY BAD
1: Rain is probably not in MKX after Raiden is revealed... Boon AGAIN trolls Rain fans with all his evil tweets, I love MK, I don't like Boon.

THE NEUTRAL
1: I only liked his lightning in the x-ray, the rest was pretty bland.

While I rather saw another character, I kinda grow toward Raiden again, in MK1 he was my favorite because I always liked Lightning characters, but then he kinda let me down all the time, now he's back for me personally, if they do such a thing for Kitana and bring her back at her roots in MK2 then I probably like her better again. (for as long as she doesn't destroy Jades and Mileena's storylines) doesn't have the stupid long, UGLY hair, and doesn't dress like a cheap slut while behaving like Princess Peach. Just Mk2 please.

Predictable, but that's not necessarily bad, at least he'll be there trying to atone for his past sins.

Displacer variant looks like an utter bitch to go up against. VERY SICK SLICK COMBOS.

This trailer had the same effect on me as some other people: I'm now more excited about Kotal Kahn/Khan/KoK(what?) than anything else.

His gameplay looks so much more solid than in MK9. Really looking forward to playing Raiden in this game for sure

I ́m a little picky when it comes to character stances and I hated Raiden ́s in MK9 pretty bad he has it again (too wide/open for me) and I say it again: this design is absolutely lazyness

I 100% disagree. It seems that they're focusing more on gameplay than the designs of the characters which is a fucking GREAT thing. Boon being on board with the tournament scene lately has been amazing. This character fucking screams classic to me and it really seems to fit him. I'm really looking forward to how he plays and i'm sure his alt will be mind blowing.

Fuck, the stupid static metal pauldron parts are back from MK4.
