I know he's the most popular character, and people are gonna be screaming for my blood. But I really think the next MK game or two could do without Scorpion. I don't hate him, but he's just so overrated, and compared to many other characters, not very interesting. I'm neutral towards the guy, neither really like, nor dislike.

A one game break could give them a chance to really work on doing something cool for him, rather than simply having him there to please Boon and the fans. Ermac is a great example of this, he wass gone a long time, then returned as one of MKD's most interesting characters.

I think Sub Zero looks most likely to become MK's new main hero, and to take the MK championship even. He's had so much build up during the last two games, getting far more powerful, leading the Lin Quei, having and losing a student, plus finding out that Noob is really his dead brother. Plus, despite what Midway said, fan reaction to Shujinko has been mostly negative, so I don't see him being "the next Liu Kang", in Boon's words.

Scorpion is one of my favorite characters, but he either needs a change, or he needs to stay out a few games. Scorpion is getting kind of stale, there is really nothing new about him. While people like Sub-Zero and Kung Lao have a story that keeps developing and changing, Scorpion always has this stupid revenge story. The only thing that changes about it is who he's after. It's getting old.

Sub Zero should stay. He has one of the best stories in MK. MK1 the original Sub Zero was after Shang Tsung. MK2 the young Sub Zero searches for his brother through Kahns tournament. MK3 he betrayed the Lin Kuei 'cause they were making robot ninjas and Smoke got captured. MK4 he's killed by Scorpion and becomes Noob Saibot. MKDA he becomes the grand master of the Lin Kuei and is betrayed by Frost. MKD he killes a bunch Tarkatans and travels with Kenshi. Hotaru dies. Noob is Sub Zeroes brother. Best story. Ermac helps Liu Kang and kicks ass. He took on Kung Lao Johny Cage Jax Sonya and Kitana. Scorpion has a dumb "kill Quan Chi" story. He has no story in MKD. Bottom line: Sub Zero and Ermac in Scorpion out. But why would they take any of them out?

Sub-Zero was aboput to kill Tsung again in MK2. You think an assassin guild would care for a disappearing member? No.

Its a hard choice because even tho i like Sub and Scorp, I really think all three of em should take a rest. I never did like Ermac, but Scorp n Sub are definately overrated and sooner or later ppl are gonna get sick of em. Ermac is somewhat of a "fresh face" since his return in Deception but, since i never liked him i can't say I want him back.

Bottom line, Scorp should stay out at least one game, Sub should too, n Ermac could maybe stay for the next game n then gone for the one after it.

I think they should keep them all. But I do agree they should change Scorpions storyline a little.

Honestly,i think all three of them will be in MK 7 IMO based on stroy and popularity alone.However,if i had to choose one,it would probably be Scorpion,his story is okish now,subs is better,but i think Ermacs is the best of the three right now,both power wise and story wise,i mean come on now,he took on Jax,sonya,kitana,Johnny cage,Kung LAo,Lui Kang,that should say it right there lol.

Ermac is very important to this storyline now,more than ever before,Scorpion should take a rest keep Subby again and definitely Ermac.

Noob Saibot: I do believe there is more to his story than meets the Eye with him. I do believe that He spreads rumors that he was Mk1 Subby. Motivation: to Make Subby into a Neathrealm Wraith.


Sub Zero: The Younger Subby will switch sides with the Dragon Amulet and all. A Deeper backstory with the CryoMancers and the Dragon King. The younger Subby should join the Dark Side and have a new Title.


*SideNote: There is a website(non MK site) that states that The Lin Kuei serves the Dragon King for many years.


Sub Zero(3rd): a Mysterious Lin Kuei Ninja Warrior of Old with Ties to Noob Saibot, Dark Rayden, Sub Zero (2nd) and Shinnok.

*SideNote: This Sub Zero should up the mystery what really happen to MK 1 Sub Zero and the Relationship between Mk1 Sub Zero and Noob Saibot should be in question also.



Smoke: He should be Independant of Noob Saibot and anyone else.

I say it's time to stabilize those characters that serve their purpose in MK and those who don't. Sub-Zero and Scorpion are concrete, so they stay. Ermac begins to play a very important role as a powerfull ally of Earthrealm heroes, so he should stay. Noob Saibot just got interesting, alongside with Smoke, though Smoke is not that relevant to anything in the MK storyline besides Sub-Zero. Reptile played his part, and I think he should be left out in the future. Rain served no purpose in MKtrilogy and was horribly shallow plotline and character wise, so I think he should not return for the sake of MK coherency. We had cyborgs and no, no more of them.

I'm interested with the newer concept warriors, but they need a serious rewamp, Bo' rai Cho, Hotaru, Dairou and so on have shitloads of potential, too bad they have been introduced the way they were. I rather have them as any other or newer ninja in MK.

To say they all should stay out of a game is silly how I see it. The only reason ANY of them should stay out is if John Vogel is too lazy to give them a good story and Louis Mangubat can't make great looking costumes. To exclude them from the game will do more bad then good. It will automatically hurt sales not having your 2 most popular characters in the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE SERIES, and the story to me wouldn't be as intriguing without them. Ermac has finally become a legitimate,interesting character, why would anyone want him out for? Don't like him don't play him, but don't ask for the exclusion of what could be a very cool storyline(beat the game with him in MKD).

If you ask me characters that DO need to go are Darrius,Dairou,Kobra and Kira. With the exception of Kira(some kinda like her) 90% of people I know hate all of them. They need to put more effort into their new characters. Ashrah and Shujinko were pretty cool, as were Havikn and Hotaru. They all fit into the Mortal Kombat feel perfectly. If you're gonna put more generic human into the game you might as well bring back Johnny Cage(funny and people love to hate him/really like him) and Sonya(has a cult following practically) instead of adding crappy new chars like Kobra and Kira(who were the replacements for Cage and Sonya anyway).

Who would I get rid of out of those three ninjas is a very tough one. I think it might have to be Scorpion. I think he needs a break anyway so then Midway can give him a fresh new storyline. I'm sick of this chasing Quan Chi for ten years to get back my stupid wife storyline. In fact I reckon it is one of the worst storylines to date. Almost WWE like.

Sub-Zero on the other hand has some potential with the ancestral history and the armour thing. Ermac is gonna be huge soon with his huge storyline push he'll definitely stay. He is the only character that knows that there is a bigger threat than Onaga.

theres no point to this thread that i can see of. cuz Boon said himself Scorpion and Sub-Zero will always be in MK (as well as Raiden). so really only Ermac is the only one that wont be in future MKs of the 3. unless Boon decides to have him in there always from now on wich i doubt.
