About halfway through the episode when BC says the last stage after the awful drum roll Shad yells "FUCK YEAH" made me laugh so hard

Going off of the portal, I miss that stage a bunch. All of the variations in MK3 were so amazing to me, the game would honestly not be the same without those stages. It definitely added a more dystopian and real feel to it. Like Shao Kahn's merging of the realms had a huge effect on the world, and I never felt that with Armageddon or any of the other games for that matter. Maybe a little in MK9, but it didn't go to the extent like it did with the rooftop in MK3. Really loved the whole atmosphere of that game. Anyway, I like the MK2 portal as well but I totally agree on all of your guys' points.

EDIT: I totally agree with Temp that The Pit 3 was SO fucking underrated. Loved that stage, by far my favorite pit. I really wanted to see that in MK9 but oh well. Maybe in MKX?

When it comes to character retrospectives I suggest Sheeva or Kenshi.

When it comes to the Portal in Particular, as much as I love the MKD version of it, with the "Choose Your Destiny" towers in the background and the shadow priests watching as the fight goes on, I really think that the MK:Dead Alliance version is underrated, it's the Pit 3 of portal stages. It's got Shang's Nethership in the background it's got cool architecture and it has a great story behind the stage. It was easily one of my favorite stages in MK: Deadly Alliance and one of my favorite interpretations of the Portal motif in MK in general.

Watched you guys newest episode as always it was good.

I'm glad im not the only 1 who liked the Well stage and The House Of Pakara.

I also was suprised of the lack of a Portal stage. That is MK with the realms and the way to get to place to place.

It's good to hear im not the only 1 who did not hate Kobra.

And for Hsu Huo I thought his only traits was his beam and wind clap as well.

I wish stage transitions returned. I miss it.

In MKD my favorite tune was used in the slaughterhouse, that along with the Dark Prison.

Just imagine if there was a stage for every character along with multiple tiers and stage fatalitys, various weather settings and different times to fight in, and various music depending on how you altered the stage/transtioned from 1 to another. It be alot of work, but it be amazing.

The ones i can think of off the top of my head are

Those are the character specific ones that come to mind. I'm sure theres more but that's all i can think of right now.

Hmmm... Can't say I'm much of a fan of The Portal arena(s)... I think my #1 would be the (Evil) Tower, I think Temp had it as his #1. The harmony of the colors, the fast-moving clouds, the lighting, just the right amount of details, solid music... Thanks to MK2011 The Subway became one of my faves- the new stage fatality is my fave stage fatality in the series, the music's great and all the trash paper flying around when the train passes by + the lights twitching, just love it. The Kombat Tomb would be the one I missed the most in MK2011. I'm a bit surprised no one had The Warrior Shrine in their Top10 (if I remember correctly).

As for the next character, between Kung Lao and Kitana, I'm gonna go for Kitana this time because Temp now seriously teased me when he talked a bit about her near the end of the episode and how she chose to be good despite all the shit. Plus, I love her anyway. :p

If you guys would do another Top10 of your favorite costumes in MK, I'd love that one! My vote would go for MKD Ermac's primary costume.

Here is the thing about Netherkast. I find it slowly getting into a pattern of a circle of agreement. Most of the time this isn't your fault, popularity is self-evident, so that statistically your agreements on certain parts are, well, logical.


What I DO find to be missing is a counterargument. Most of the time the schema of your process seems to be to toss up something, each three of you tell your opinions about it, if we are lucky, we get some disagreements...

btw, Batman 1989 beats out Dark Knight...

...but what I really would want to see is a counterargument to your own viewpoints. Approach the thing from a different angle, QUESTION yourselves.

I'll see what we can do when it comes to that. I mean, our opinions are what they are, we aren't agreeing for the sake of agreeing, nor do we disagree just to disagree. There's some things we have split opinions on, the crossover/guest character episode is decent example of that. However, if you're looking for a drag out argument over something...I feel to force that would come off as fake.

However, I see your point and I'll try to encourage more devil's advocate approaches in the future on certain things.

I'll chime in about the reveal that we're getting a reveal bit. That honestly doesn't bother me. It's a hell of a lot better than silence, so I'll take what I can get. It'd only be disappointing if they announced a date for a reveal, then on the date just give another date. (Like the countdown thing) But if they just come out and say "Well here's when we'll reveal something else" I'm fine with that. The more communication, the better.

As for the next character, I'll say Kobra.

Whether or not Razor wants to come back is irrelevant. If his ban his lifted (and being that we were both banned the same day, that would seem likely), then there's no controversy obstructing the Netherkast's return to the front page.

Just follow the NetherKast on their own NetherKast Youtube channel. Could be that they're wanting to distance themselves from MKO, or the image of being a MKO community podcast.

To tell you the truth guys, even I don't know what's going on with the thread/partnership situation. For all I know, a decision may still be pending. Either way, I'm just glad the controversial mess is behind us.

If new threads start showing up with future episodes, then cool beans. Otherwise, this thread is going to be the hub for the Netherkast for the time being.

very good stuff. the songs were quite enjoyable and your structure is fine. its good you guys dont take stuff to serious. and with not alot of mk news this type of episode is good.

also pc gaming rocks but its not for everyone. i like how much more res games can go past console ports and also just mods and etc make things more interesting.
