MK Comics: Where the hell is Johnny Cage?

Goku would be a better analogy than Danerys. Think of all the times he evolved into a more powerful warrior, yet he is still goofy ass Goku. This is what I think 97% of us want. For Johnny to embrace his Seido heritage and "power-up" but still BE the Johnny we know and Love.

This is brilliant and very apt; I never put this connection together before, and it's perfect.

I love the comparison to Goku. That's how I view Cage. I think his mk9 ending should happen or be referenced as happened
It would be amusing to see Johnny being his typical self around stern and humorless Seido guardsman. I picture Johnny Cage as the reluctant hero he has the personality of Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy, cocky, perverted, witty, and sarcastic but he has a heart of gold and will always stand by his friends when they need him.

Most of the Seidans wouldn't be able to stand his presence, but they'd have to respect his talent. That is an ideal version of Cage.

Lol am i the only one that would think Johnny would get locked up there?
and I always loved how Johnny represented the normal person mentality going into MK, like the "um what the fuck is going on here" guy

Haha, no you are not; eventually, the Seidans would get caged.
To your second point, that is the beauty of Cage; HE IS A DUMMY, who wondered into a tournament he could have never comprehended. What makes him a HERO is the fact that he never turned his back on his realm or newly acquainted comrades.

Johnny Cage transforms into Johnny Gat from Saints Row and surprises everybody.

Great idea, this would give some more serious characters a chance to crack a joke. I dug that Kung Lao had a few jabs in there. He busted Johnny's balls when he was questioning Jade being on Raiden's side and mocked Liu Kang for going through so much trouble over Kitana.

While semi-serious Cage sounds like an interesting direction the nostalgic side of me wants Cage to remain as he has always been
"That was a 500 dollar pair of sunglasses asshole"
This THIS line sums up the personification of Cage come on man you can't make such a drastic change. Same Cage should remain the same.
To please everyone why not make Seido Johnny a variation if he makes the game?

The first draft of that script had Johnny sparing Goro's life after winning his match. Shang called out for Cage to finish Goro, and he said, "What, so you can steal his soul? I've won, that's enough." Then Goro tells Cage he doesn't want to die ashamed, alone and in a cave. In response, Johnny with a sense of respect, simply nods with understanding. What a beast. The original fight between those two was far more impressive as well.

I still remember how impressive the fx were when they panned above the two and showed the sheer cliff side that they were fighting on. If they had gone through with that original script I would have cried like a baby and how humane a choice Cage would of made. Who knows maybe he wouldn't of been killed off instantly at the start of Annihilation :D

Johnny didn't get to say much on Mortal Kombat Annihilation.
Johnny Cage : This does not look good.
Johnny Cage : Sonya!

Cage should of been like "Hey Liu Kang look at me guess who I am!" *Snap*
"Oh Johnny you're such a good actor...Johnny?..Johnny you can stop acting now.."

What a waste, but fuck that movie. He got a decent story arc in the first one. They would have repeated his story arc in annihilation just like Liu kang's.
Liu went from Raiden saying I have nothing further to teach you, to going straight back to teenaged frustration and needing to relearn his potential.

I imagine Johnny Cage as a middle-aged, washed up, forgotten about actor with a face maintained by tons of plastic surgery. Probably doesn't make movies anymore and if he does, it's stunt work for cheesy made-for-TV flicks that just barely allows him to hold any relevance in Hollywood anymore at all. Then when whatever happens that requires Johnny to become a lead in a Special Forces unit, Johnny jumps at the chance out of pure boredom and wanting to prove his worth to the world and to his friends, most of all his daughter.

I really enjoyed the angle Legacy took with Cage. Hardly getting any work, short fuse and quick to lay the smack down. Was a great representation of Cage in my opinion.
I also like the idea that Johnny Cage and Sonya have a love hate relationship, Johnny Cage lives the typical Hollywood lifestyle of being a divorcee with Sonya Blade. It could bring a ton of humorous moments having those two working together. Deep down they love each other but they can't stand in the same room without arguing or getting into fights about the turnout of Cassie, how their relationship went sour, and how Sonya can't stand that after all these years he's still an asshole, but even she knows he has a heart of gold.

I'm future comics, issues 3 or 4 Johnny and Sonya are off together searching for Cassie. I expect some answers and very entertaining dialouge between these two then. Also brings up the question as to what happens to Cassie after her death match with Frost.
