Takeda shouldn't save Kenshi from Daegon. He shouldn't interact with him until that scene in MKX.

There shouldn't really be any inconsistencies, but some minor things did change:
- Nightwolf, Cyrax and Sektor being in the first tournament when it was said in Shaolin Monks that only Liu Kang and Kung Lao survived after the island came crashing down. Well, it's believable others might have survived. Johnny Cage was also rescued somehow in the original timeline

Correct. It should be obvious that Shaolin Monks wasn't canon If you played the first 2 MK games.

Ehh, not very impressive. In the original timeline Cyrax sought to regain his humanity, and in this one I would have expected him to do the same both for himself and the rest of the clan (besides maybe the clones if they are actually just robots). I don't see what made him decide to destroy it this time around. It would have been kind of cool to see Cyrax lead something like a good version of the Tekunin.
The fight with Sektor was a little anti-climatic. Sub-Zero was just holding back the whole time? I expected to to be a more serious effort on his part, and I really thought it should have been more drawn out. Maybe if they combined the first half from the previous issue and this one it would have been a suitable length, but picking up on the cliffhanger just to have it end so fast is a tad disappointing.
The new recruits arriving to join the Lin Kuei I though was well-done and humorous a pretty nice note to end on. But that last scene pretty much guarantees a second wave of MKX comics, which makes me happy. I don't think this was very good as the climax of the comics, but the comics overall were a pretty entertaining read.

None of the fights in the whole run were long. They mostly consisted of 2 or 3 moves and a final blow. The length was fine here.
There's a difference between old timeline Cyrax and new timeline Cyrax. The old one was abandoned by the Lin Kuei and was.brought.back to life in a world where Sub-Zero had already reclaimed the clan and turned it good.
This Cyrax came back in a world where the Lin Kuei was now producing clones and acting like assholes under Sektor's rule, something he helped create by not listening to Raiden and going through with the process even if he doubted.
I'm fine with him deciding to remove all traces of the worst era of the Lin Kuei, himself included.

He didn't go through with the process, through. Before we saw him as a cyborg, he told Sektor he was quitting the Lin Kuei. They abducted and turned him into one against his will just like Sub-Zero.

Let's take into consideration that Cyrax had lost his body and had done unspeakable acts in the name of Sektor's dream. Suicide or seclusion are the only logic alternatives.
I didn't like it when all of a sudden the world forgave Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Jax cause they were under some kind of spell and them just being able to go on with normal lives despite having lived for years in Hell. That was unrealistic. But Cyrax doing the honourable thing and going out the warrior's way was plausible and makes good drama.
The comics have been great because there have been dangers at every corner. You never knew who was gonna die. Remember that issue with Goro and Rain being injured? Oh, man, some wonderful discussions that spanned...the suspense, the drama when everyone thought they were dead. No one is safe! This makes me want to read more but at the same afraid to read!

Yeah I personally thought Cyrax blowing himself up was kind of pointless. I get the whole "clean slate" thing but they could have reformed the clan together, he regained his free will, he now had the ability to choose his destiny (Dat cheese tho) even if he was stuck in his robot body.
Eh I wish he would have stayed, his excuse could have been that he wanted to make up for any horrible things he had done while not in control or something lol

You guys make me sad. Sektor is an awesome character. What's not to like about a crazy cyborg hell bent on turning his clan and the world into subservient robots? His moveset and fatalities have always been favourites of mine and I think it's unfortunate that NRS allowed him to be unceremoniously killed off in the comics rather than having any place in the main story. To me he's always been the true adversary of Kuai Liang and should have remained as such.

Tragic to see NRS tossing the cyborgs aside like they were nothing. I like Cyrax better and I hope he returns, even if it take a long time for that to happen. Sektor definitely deserved to put up more of a fight against SZ.

It's obvious Kenshi let himself be captured. Him and Goro are in on it together and the writers will make Goro a good guy or Kenshi found out that Goro was looking for Daegon and let himself be captured.
Kenshi will escape on his own or with Goro's help.
Still, he won't manage to defeat Daegon cause he's still alive by the end of MKX.
I'm on team Daegon, he's a multi-dimensional character.

"Sektor lives"
Cyrax is dead.
10/10. Guess who just became most likely for KP2?
The comic could have built a bit better and not just thrown curveballs after spending forever on Reiko and Havik but I honestly enjoyed it. I would love a season 2.

The guy who got his head ripped out in gruesome fashion? I'm not so sure how that changes anyone's chances, personally. Also, for whatever it's worth, Kittelsen did have this to say in response to someone on twitter upset with Cyrax's death: "Did you see a body? ;)"
So who knows, but I wouldn't be placing any bets based off of the non-canon comic anyhow.

Or that NRS thinks that MKSM is canon, and they do not give two flying fucks about coherency when it comes to plot minutiae. Remember, what is actually canon is up for them to decide... and they can change their words as they please.

Pretty much this.
The way I see it is for the moment the comic is canon. Does it have its inconsistencies? Yep, sure does, but then again there are inconsistencies in some of the official NRS writing before the comic even existed. So if or when that changes then so be it but for now, the general broad strokes I take to be canon; Reiko, Havik, Queen Sheeva, ect ect.

There's the whole Ermac thing and when / how did he switch sides but Kittelsen wrote that off as him giving Mileena one last chance, I think? I don't exactly remember his exact words.
Who knows. I think it really comes down to "Did NRS change the script after they gave it to Kittelsen?" I think that answer is easily yes. Maybe that's why Skarlet is involved. We know at one point Skarlet had a cameo in the game. Perhaps he was going off of an earlier draft?

There's nothing wrong with Erma in the end comic as opposed to the game. In the comic he's servING Mileena. This takes place 15 years before the main portion of the game. The end of the comic he goes to Kotals side where he still is in the game. Only thing I caught was Shujinko telling Takeda about Kenai and Suchin. When it was shown in game that kenshi does it himself but what ever that's minor. This was a great in cannon story to the game. And I hope that a season 2 is approved by DC, especially with the cliffhanger. 15 years of tales to be told means many comics could come

The connection between Daegon and Onaga hasn't been explained, but I guess it's more between Caro and Onaga. Daegon's family (Argus and Delia) had loyal dragons dedicated to them long after Onaga had been gone (it's mentioned in Mortal Kombat Armageddon that they were at war with Shao Kahn)

Overall, I like the comic and really enjoy how many of the characters have been given a good character treatment. But considering how much Kittelsen took pride in reading pages and pages of MK lore to get the details right, it's a little jarring how many really obvious, not-even-trivia things got messed up.

Goro only learned about Onaga after reading the Red Dragon lore about him, and he refers to Onaga as "their" Dragon King and not Outworld's. That seems really weird to me.
It would seem awfully contrived for Kenshi to be right there in the Red Dragon stronghold and escape again before hunting them down in MKX, when finding them was the whole point of leaving Takeda behind in the first place.
Watch the story mode again. Takeda refers to Jacqui as a "new face" as if he had never seen her before they were a team. No recognition whatsoever, even though the three of them had a pretty memorable adventure together.
