Goro only learned about Onaga after reading the Red Dragon lore about him, and he refers to Onaga as "their" Dragon King and not Outworld's. That seems really weird to me.
Takeda refers to Jacqui as a "new face" as if he had never seen her before they were a team. No recognition whatsoever, even though the three of them had a pretty memorable adventure together.

I don't understand. It's said Goro has studied the Red Dragon lore, but he's 2.000 years old. He could have done so at anytime, especially since his House is said to be descendant from dragons (Draco lineage). His quest to have his limbs healed has probably smtg to do with the dragon Caro. What connection the dragon Caro has with Onaga is not known, but Orin and Caro are really old, older than Taven and Daegon and they don't mind waiting for thousands of years under the earth so that the brothers wake up. They probably lived during the time of Onaga too, so Daegon knows some dragon secrets from Caro. The Red Dragon doesn't necessarily worship Onaga. Goro calls him their Dragon King, but we all know Daegon was connected to Shinnok, who awakened him and lied to him to kill the protector God of Edenia, Argus.
Red Dragon-Dragon King, I think Kittelsen just made a connection, but I can't see how Daegon could have known him.

You can refer to someone as "new face" if you've just started working there.

The comic doesn't actually contradict anything does it? Except maybe the Jacqui and Cassie never being Outworld thing.

Jacqui and Cassie STILL haven't been to Outworld as of yet in the comic. If you were referring to them going to Shang Tsung's island as them having gone to Outworld, that island (stated in the comic itself) is a realm unto itself, residing in a space between Outworld and Earthrealm.

But yeah, the comic doesn't contradict anything, people are just looking for a reason not to like it (imo). The way the comic was rolled out made it hard to follow / put into context with the rest of the story mode. But if you go back and re-watch it, and re-read the comic in full, I'm sure you'll understand more fully what went down, and how everything fits together better.

I do believe Jacqui and Cassie were in Outworld once. The jungle when they killed Mavado was in Outworld, wasn't it?

It doesn't bother me that much thought. That line from story mode was more of a wink to MK2 than anything else.

"I thought the sky would be purple or something" and "new places, new faces" cannot be used as proof that the comic isn't canon.

You are right, I was wrong, the Jungle was Outworld, and as such when they were taken to Shang's island, it was from the Outworld side. My bad.

That being the case though, whose to say they knew where they were? They were seemingly abducted and plopped down in a jungle, then put on a boat to an island. May be someone told them where they were off panel, but then again maybe nobody stopped to tell them were they were, and what was going on.

At the end of the day I agree with you though, that the line from the game was essentially a throwback to the OG representation of Outworld. Honestly though, I wish the "purple sky" bit was attributed to Kahn's influence over the realm, saying something like "his iron grip was an actual darkness that covered the realm," but that is just me.

The sky was purple even in the remake of the Wasteland in Deception and MK9. I bet it's probably purple at night in The Kove too. Guess it's because of the clouds and the atmosphere.

I feel like I would have liked the Outworld stages more if they had been purple or orange like the older games. There's something really lacking in most of the stages and that might be it, although I do love The Kove.

I agree 100%. The purple and orange skies the Outworld stages had back in the day was part of what made them so awesome IMO. I don't think they retconned it out, we have no idea big Outworld is or how any of that stuff works there, it could be purple at different places or different times of day or even different times of year lol I refuse to believe they retconned out by beloved purple and orange skies.

"Sektor lives"

Cyrax is dead.

10/10. Guess who just became most likely for KP2?

The guy who got his head ripped out in gruesome fashion? I'm not so sure how that changes anyone's chances, personally. Also, for whatever it's worth, Kittelsen did have this to say in response to someone on twitter upset with Cyrax's death: "Did you see a body? ;)"

So who knows, but I wouldn't be placing any bets based off of the non-canon comic anyhow.

A head which clearly had life-support and what I can only guess is oxygen being pumped through his brain. As opposed to an act from Cyrax saying more or less "we all need to die", you'll see :P
