While I do want anything and everything, as I don't play as these characters often, I'll wait and see if they do a bulk pack with this, the Brazil pack, and any other potential costume packs down the line. As I already have the Kombat Pack, I'm already getting 9 more skins and 3 more characters, so hopefully that will tide me over.

But as others have said, I'd also rather wait until Kold War Scorpion is available as well.

Bought them and I think they all look great, especially Sonya and Kano!

Sonya actually looks better, also her faction kill and victory poses now look sexier! the costume is very detailed to the stitching and doesn't look cheap, also her P2 colour is different from the rest of her staples.

Kano gets Mavado's trench coat and he looks badass with the beret, all three of his outfits are great and he really needed some variety.

Sub-Zero's sheep skin coat is cool,

thry all look so cool fighting in cold/snow themed stages, overall, anybody maining any of these three can't miss out on these, they're great!

Buy the Season Pass!*

*Full season not included.

Honestly, I'm an OCD completionist, and I already paid over $100 for the game and its content alone... I think I'm just going to hold off and invariably trade my copy in for the Komplete edition later.

Yeah, pretty ridiculous. Sadly I'm a sheep when it comes to this series.

On the bright side, "Revolution" Kano and "Tundra" Sub Zero are pretty damn sweet.

I thought Kano's costume was ridiculously tacky when I first saw it, but after seeing it in action, I'm amazed at how badass it actually is. Totally getting this even it comes with a ''Fuck you Boon for taking yet extra money from me''

It annoys the hell out of me that these aren't in the Kombat Pack, especially since they're not particularly great skins that I think are worth paying extra for. But I'm a completest so... of course I bought them. furious

Honestly though, these skin packs are total shit. If they want to bleed us all dry, at least make some decent bloody DLC that actually makes sense to the game, instead of ridiculous bullshit like the soccer jerseys. And also stop giving the same few characters all the costumes. There are plenty that only have 2 (or some with only 1).

NRS could be making a fortune churning out some decent DLC. I don't see many casual fans forking out for these current skins...

This is my issue. Especially when the skins are as impersonal as soccer jerseys.

Oh don't worry about alt costumes for the newbies, NRS are likely gauging their popularity to prepare costume packs for them,

Pack 1

Cassie, Jaquie, Erron Black and Ferra Torr.

Pack 2

Kung Jin, Takeda, Kotal, Dvorah

NRS/WB will milk every penny it can get just like how Capcom lived on street fighter 4 for the entire of the last gen .

After the kombat pack we'll get a story pack, with another four characters and more skins, it won't stop.

This is some bull$hit , would it really hurt them to include this in the kombat pack? Killer instinct gets what, 8 characters for 20$?

Your defense of these shady, greedy tactics is gross. These companies have abused the notion of dlc, to say the least.

I'm not defending anyone. I'm just stating facts. The kombat pack was announced for 4 characters + 4 skin packs. Releasing DLC that isn't included in the Kombat Pack/Season Pass/whatever is something that every developers do.

Yeah, but stating "facts" and then saying, "you shouldn't expect anything" (as if it is okay/to be expected) isn't saying much.

I do expect to get content worth my money. I did not expect to buy a kombat pass and then have to shell out $20 more bucks for whatever sideline bs that they put out.

I will not ever expect anything less than getting "my moneys worth" of what I spend my money on. I see diminishing value in the dlc that NRS is putting out, simply because of their tactics.

So, I decided to ask WB Games directly... Why did the Season Pass not come with all the content being released during the season duration?

Well, I got an answer.

"The Kombat Pack is not a Season Pass and has never been advertised as one."

That's the reason. It's not a Season Pass and never marketed as a Season Pass...

... Which isn't true. In fact, I tracked down advertisements and promotions from Best Buy, Amazon, Gamestop, EB Games, Newegg, even Playstation Network, all of which had, or continue to, call it a "Season Pass".

WB Games further clarified that "any retailers stating it was a Season Pass were misinformed" and that I should try going to them for a refund if I felt misled.

... I might try my hand at that.

Actually, Destructoid caught wind of this and just ran an article on it.
Mortal Kombat X False Advertising

They have links to multiple retailers who listed it as a Season Pass as well as one particularly egregious Gamestop ad stating "Get Everything MKX has to offer!"... which certainly didn't include everything. There are plenty of others that listed it as well.

Hope those links there help.

My issue with that article is that its title makes NRS/MK look bad when what they said was true, there was a list of what it would come with, those other retailers are the ones who implied it came with other stuff or that it was a season pass.

Now I will admit I also thought it was a season pass, I just thought "Kombat Pack" was them trying to give it a klever little name or something, but that's on me for making assumptions.

Well, those are assumptions reinforced by practically every retailer out there. The Playstation Store itself lists it as a Season Pass. I'm look at it right now on my PS4 and it says very clearly "Season Pass" on the marketplace.

Ultimately, yes, the retailers (like, ALL of them) got it wrong, but that means WB dropped the ball and didn't clarify their message to anyone selling the Kombat Pass.

A lot of people (myself included) assumed the Kombat/Season Pass was going to at least cover all the content for that season duration, and that the content listed was going to be all they'd announce and release for that "season" of time. I even assumed there would be more DLC AFTER the Season Pass... but it is quite shocking that we're nowhere near close to getting all the Season Pass content fulfilled, stuff many already pre-paid for, while they instead release more and more and more paid DLC not covered by the $30 pass purchase.

This feels very much like something corporate WB pushed them to do. Netherrealm typically tries their hardest to give people value and to be honest with their players. But they still have to bow to the whim of their corporate overlord.

@Garlador: Yeah you pretty much nailed it lol I thought it was a season pass and that the list of stuff included with it was going to be all the DLC for a period of time, then they come out with Blue steel Sub and these Russia skins that don't even come with it, so I do kind of feel duped.

WB games are consistently ass-hats when it comes to dlc.

Don't blame NRS or Boon. It's extremely unlikely they had anything to do with the pricing, releases or marketing. The blame falls squarely on WB.
